Thinking of moving from Nashville to Seattle. Is a condo downtown a good idea? Any help would be appreciated.
hey it’s been a while since you commented, but I’ve been a Seattlelite my whole life and wanna give you some advice if you still need it. Downtown Seattle is expensive and can be dangerous depending where you go. there’s a big drug and homeless problem, as there is in any big city. I would recommend moving in with someone you know and trust! save up at least over 5k for moving, the more the better. Seattle, especially downtown, is expensive. you’ll need furniture, supplies, accessories, all that stuff. Be ready to walk everywhere!! Downtown is super busy and there’s always what you need a block or two down the street, so if you plan on moving downtown most people don’t drive, especially if they’re not used to the crazy hectic and dangerous drivers downtown in the city. Seattle drivers can be really dumb sometimes. Luckily, Seattle has a lot of those Lime or Bird bikes/scooters and similar brands, download an app and it will tell you where the nearby ride is. Uber/Lyft gets expensive, but owning a car is even more expensive. Parking is atrocious and so expensive downtown. It rains a lot! like more than you think. Just be safe! Seattle is beautiful and you fall in love with it so easy. Finding jobs here is easy too, and luckily our minimum wage is really good for a big city. The nightlife here is fun and vibrant, but you still gotta be safe. Hopefully this helped!
