We Went to Universal Studios HOLLYWOOD - Iconic Rides, Studio Tram Tour, New Toadstool Cafe & MORE!

- Join us for our first time at Universal Studios Hollywood together - Sam's first time at this park ever, and both of our FIRST TIME doing the famous Universal Tram Tour (we LOVED it) and so many other iconic rides and attractions, plus lunch at Toadstool Cafe in Super Nintendo World showing you so many of the delicious food options! We enjoy so many beloved rides like The World-Famous Studio Tour, Jurassic World The Ride, Revenge of the Mummy (a different version from the one at Universal Orlando), the adorable new dark ride, Secret Life of Pets, Mario Kart Bowser's Challenge and MORE that we've never ridden before- plus we have lunch and try a bunch of the delicious and adorably themed new options at ToadStool Cafe in the brand new Super Mario World! We meet characters like Dracula, Hello Kitty, and friendly neighborhood citizens of Hollywood and just have the absolute best day (divided in two parts in this video) exploring so much of this park that is new to us both! We get incredible views of Hollywood and the hills too! Enjoy experiencing so much with us and find out what we think and some of the differences between Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida too!

It truly is!!! We loved every doggone second of it, like the fact that this is an attraction anyone can do that’s included with your park ticket is awesome

Glad you got to go to Universal Studios at LA‼️ The Secret Life of Pets ride is one of my favorites!! The Jaws part of the tour is one of the best parts of the experience!! I even got to record the King Kong and Fast & Furious experience!!
This is so a bucket list trip. Now if only I could take my grandson and my son. They are super super Mario crazy. Plus, I would just love to go to Universal there, it is so different.
Really close to Universal is the Warner Brothers Studio Lot and you can go on a tour of Warner Brothers studio that is really cool. So if you enjoyed the tram ride at Universal and are into tv/movies...going to the WB studio lot tour is worth a visit for sure. It's around 2 hours and they'll take you throughout the WB lot with a group of around 12 people (where lots of filming is usually happening), you can visit the old Friends set with the infamous sofa, they have a Harry Potter Museum, and they'll usually take you to an actual real set to walk around. So recommend doing that next time you're in LA :)
We definitely want to do that next time! We could see it from the views at Universal and I’m sure we’d love it! A future visit we will do it for sure.
The Warner bros studio tour is honestly better because you can visit sets from old shows like friends and Gilmore girls(which a lot of the female passengers gasped at) plus they drop you off at different themed exhibits like friends

We stayed at the same Hilton during our visit to Universal Hollywood years ago! The views were SO worth it - seeing the sunrise and the fog around the (not-yet-open) Hogwarts Castle was so cool! We didn't get to go through the Western sets or Little Europe during our studio tour because they were filming! So cool to see! Can't wait to get Super Nintendo World in Orlando. It looks so fun! Sam was braving that splash zone... LOL
Which Hilton is it? My husband and I are researching where to stay for both Universal Hollywood and Disneyland.

I’m disappointed that the sea plane at WaterWorld didn’t work and that the Indominus Rex at the end of JW looked like it was sleeping. However great video Jackie and glad that both of you had fun!!!

YAAAASSSS we were hoping that you stayed at the Hilton Universal City! By far one of our favorite hotel stays; the park view alone would have made it worth the cost for us, but the breakfast buffet (if you had time for it) was outstanding 😁 Even as someone who is not a big fan of water rides, Jurassic World was very impressive. Secret Life of Pets was an adorable little dark ride, too; I don't know about anyone else, but I'm glad to see Universal as a company leaning back into animatronics and coasters over adding more screen rides to the parks! Dracula was surprisingly sassy haha glad you got to meet your fav. And glad that you were able to find time for the Tram Tour, too! Really gives off big 'classic MGM Studios' vibes for us legacy WDW fans, but arguably USH has had the superior version of the tram tour all along. Such a great park, thanks for taking us along! ✨

I’ve been to Universal City Walk in Hollywood back in the day but I haven’t been to the Universal Studios Hollywood yet. But I’ll check it out once I’m back in LA. I wanna see the Super Nintendo World.

I visited this park when I was a teenager and they were filming Back to The Future part 2. Although they avoided driving us down by the clock tower area, you could still see the futuristic downtown. Somewhere I have a pic that I took. It was cool

There certainly is a lot to offer and the life with pets ride would probably be one I would find enjoyable as with the Nintendo World. Looks like it has been a fun-filled travel.

My dad and I went to Burbank in 2021 and universal was a blast, the secret life of pets ride is you typical omnimover type ride when more practical than digital scenes, plus when we got in the tram tour we not only saw the set of the good place(which I walked on as a part of a VIP tour in 2016)but also Nintendo world as well

I heard! Our day at Disneyland was nice during the day but freezing cold at night, and our day at DCA was mostly gray and cold too, so I was soooo grateful for a bright sunny day at Universal. I heard now it’s crazy raining. I guess Cali needed the rain tho (like the tram driver said haha… except REAL rain).
I really want to ride Secret Life. I'm a huge fan of dark rides like that. I wish we had a Studio tram tour too. The weather must've been super nice there to be sporting a jacket. Nintendo World looks super fun. Water World is still my favorite stunt show (with Bourne very close to it)

I went to USH last year and LOVED it. Secret Life of Pets was adorable and one the best dark rides I've been on. The mountains made the view so beautiful I CRIED! So glad you got to enjoy this wonderful park!
Honestly YES!! We absolutely loved it and I’ve so many mixed reviews but we just thought it was all wonderful! Loved Secret Life of Pets, it’s such a good dark ride, and loved their version of The Mummy too! Everyone says it’s “not as good,” but I just thought it was fun and different, a bit spookier and got some air time!!

Hmmm, so you both decided to stop on by one of the original Movie Lots of Southern California. Where the Magik of Movie Making has been going on for over 100 years ago, Universal. From the Silent Era of Films (late 1800s to 1920s) to the Technology of the 21st Century. My husband/I haven't been back for many, many moons. It has so much history to offer which somehow gets lost in the translation. It completely makes my day when you both experience places that are

I didn’t know that, hope they’re ok! Yea we were disappointed about the sea plane, but thought it was clever how they covered it up. Hopefully we get to see it next time.

That looks so much fun, much different than when I was there in the late 1980s. They had the tram tour and a coupe of shows, but that was about it. Will have to go back there some time!

Jackie, so glad you and Sam were able to visit Universal Hollywood and the other West coast parks together! Question- would you say one day each is enough for Disneyland and California Adventure parks?
We could have easily spent two days at each park, mostly Disneyland tho. I felt that one day was enough for DCA. We did two days at Universal and still there was more we could have done, so I’d say two days for that. ❤️
Nice how they pivot and say the seaplane crashed into the wall when theres a failure.
I thought that was clever too, they have to have a backup plan for when it doesn’t work.
Ok good! I watched that a couple of times trying to figure out if you just couldn’t see the plane from the angle they were at??? That sucks. It’s a big part of the show.
I left in the part where he says “you crashed my seaplane” or whatever to show what they do when it doesn’t work. We were bummed but still such a great show!
For our July trip we had no plans to go to Universal Studios Hollywood, but after seeing your video now I am having second thoughts that maybe we should hmmmm

Yea we loved both, but Water World was so much cooler than I even imagined!! Even with the missing part…
And I thought the Star Wars rides were great. The Secret Life of Pets is coming really close.

I can understand why Waterworld was first created. I can even understand it continuing when the movie was a disappointment financially. I'm surprised it hasn't been replaced
I thought the same, like what a strange choice! But I really did love it so I get why they keep it, it's so perfect for the space and it's always packed.
Universal is right in the area of the film studios. I mean like Warner Bros studios is right next door to universal. You can see it from the upper lot. You’re also close to industrial light and magic where the muppets stuff and Star Wars stuff being filmed. I know the muppets borrowed sets at universal for the last movie and the muppets tv show for abc so it’s like ok you can use whatever.
So on a completely different note ms Jackie.. wondering when the super enthused merch is Available? Like “ stay enthused my friends”. ( you can totally use that too by the by)

I ride the Studio Tour pretty much every time I visit USH. It's always a little bit different, based on what's filming that day, and the personality of the guide. The Metro sets are a rare treat, so much filming there. I had a huge smile on my face watching you take the tour. You were pretty much just geeking out the whole time lol. Too bad the Indominous Rex wasn't working on Jurassic World though. More reason for you to return!
Loved this vlog! We are trying to plan a trip out and want to do both parks. Would you recommend staying near Disneyland area then move over to the Universal area, or just stay at one central location and then Uber to the parks? Thanks for sharing your experience!!!

That sucks you missed the best part! The indominus Rex wasn't working to meet the T Rex! That's what makes it way better than Florida!
Yea everyone in the boat was like NOOOOO haha, so it was clear something wasn't working. I did think it wasn't as much better than the Florida version as everyone makes it out to be, and maybe that's why. We'll def be back tho and I'll try again and hope it works.
