The mall isnt French, its a recreation of valley view mall in dallas and the rolling giant has a french voice because the actual statue (was an art piece before the oldest view even existed) doesnt ever talk or make a noise aside from the wheels and the rolling giant statue was designed after julian reverchon a French botanist.
I would recommend watching the oldest view as its very well made and genuinely better than most horror movies ive watched.
Huggy was arguably a better writer and had more punches, but the punches that TRG(The Rolling Giant) had arguably harder punches. From the repeating of formulas from other games in the mascot horror genre to what i believe that Mob(the creator)line
was referencing...the fact that Poppy Playtime was a stolen idea that was from one of the people who were working on it before they were kicked off the project entirely...Huggy slapped, but that line hurt me😂
Consensus:Huggy had some better punchlines and writing...but The Rolling Giant wins with the haymakers
MOB also makes content farm content aimed at children but with very obvious undertones as well as the NFT scandal.
the monolith botanist line is about the rolling giant who has flower hands to represent a french botanist named Julien Reverchon who lived in Dallas, so rolling giant is basically a monolith, and huggy is bothering it.
The rolling giant is a puppet like statue made to honor and look like a French man named julien Reverchon, who was a botanist. He loved flowers, which is why the giant originally has flowers on its hands.

Imo I feel like huggy focused more on wordplay and punchlines than the disses actually making a lot of sense or hitting very hard. Some examples:
"How you gonna escalate, you can't make it upstairs" - While if you watch TOV episode 3 it seems like this at first, later on in the video it's revealed the giant actually could go up the stairs the entire time and it didn't do it the first time basically to troll Wyatt and give him a false sense of security. So ultimately the line didn't hit as hard as it would've.
*Literally any of the bars that involved insulting his appearance* - Look ik a lot of them were clever punchlines but fuck did they get annoying after a while
"You might be the only pinata noone wants to beat" - I know this man didn't just try to insult an evil sentient art sculpture by mentioning that he'll never have seggs. This is like one of the few rap battles where that's not relevant at all, and the same could be said for huggy as well.
Also, on some of the lines you missed, the "with playtime's internet history I would zip it, I'll torture you to levels not even mob could mimic", mob entertainment(I think that's their name) is the develoepr of Poppy's Playtime and they are notorious for getting into a vast plethora of controversies and in general just being terrible human beings(they pushed NFTs that contained important lore tidbits despite literally everyone telling them "no that's a really stupid idea", they stole a lot of ideas from a former developer and then kicked that member out before making Poppy's Playtime, etc).
"You're the doll that couldn't monitor jack till a box was dropped and you got the slip" - He's saying how despite huggy wuggy trying to stop an intruder(the player) from entering in the first chapter, he couldn't even do that and was ultimately killed when the player dropped a box on the walkway he was on.

The repeating formula bar is basically how ever chapter in poppy playtime is very repetitive
honestly I disagree, I think chapter two and three were BIG step ups from each other and the first game, thats just my opinion though,

In my opinion huggy had good punches and better flow both rounds. Trg first round didn’t quite hit and the flow wasn’t on par but the second he came through but compared to huggy I feel like he lost
Honestly, I think you should react to some of Kane Pixels' (creator of The Rolling Giant and the series they're from) stuff. Their Backrooms Found Footage series and The Oldest View are mad interesting to say the least, plus your Murder Drones reactions are hilarious and I need you reacting to more scary stuff because of that.
I agree, Huggy had really funny lines and constant punches whereas Rolling Giant only really had a few good lines in his second verse.
Yes but most of huggy's punches were relatively weak and didn't hit as hard. It's basically quality vs quantity. Everyone talks about huggy's lines but 90% of them were insulting his appearance which just got annoying after a while, and if you really pay attention TRG's lines generally had deeper meanings(compared to, again, 90% of huggy's lines essentially boiling down to "haha u ugly")

This is the only rap I’ve seen that’s had such an equally divided outcome. I personally think that huggy won (better flows, some witty bars) but the giant had good lines too. Really close on

I just realized that "I'll torment you to levels that not even Mob could mimic" is also a slight reference to the Prototype, because in the tapes he was mimicking the scientist interrogating him.

Huggy's 2nd verse was mid imo, at least a lot worse than his first.
It was considerably shorter than his first and TRG’s second verse but I love his flow on the when he was walking. To each their own though

TRG's first round was ehhh compared to Huggy.
Huggy had the stronger first round, a WAY better flow and his second verse improved upon his first despite being shorter than TRG's second.
Trg had a really good second verse but it was too little too late.
Huggy Wuggy had the same sort of roast and rhyme affection level throughout the entire rap battle while Salad Fingers cooked but only in the second verse. First verse wasn't bad, but yeah, it couldn't be compared to Huggy Wuggy's verses. GGs, can't decide.

I agree that the Rolling Giant went insane second go. But Huggy Wuggy had same amount of heat on both rounds and was flowy throughout it. Gotta give it to him he was smooth with it!! 🔥
