  • This shoe was very difficult for me to review because despite having a lot of fun running in it I also felt like my body was fighting the shoes. I think this is one of those shoes that is probably going to be very polarizing overall
Disclosure: I bought this shoe with my own money but did receive a discount because I have a friend that works at New Balance.

Great review. Sums up my thoughts on the shoes as well.

Super curious how they change the 14!

I got my pair of the v13 with around 200 miles at this time and I ended loving them, besides the wobbly heel.
The only problem I see with then is that since it is wobbly in the heel ,it is
Hard to keep up faster paces vs other high cushioning shoes there are heavier to much heavier: Vomero 17, Gel-Nimbus 26 and Infinity Run 4.
It is a shame that shoes so lightweight can't keep up the pace against heavier shoes. Other then that, I loved then and even in the summer with the upper that is a sweat sponge , it did not bothered me, still breathable enough.
But the best 1080 I ever had was the v11 still ! More versatile shoes that at that time could compete with either a Gel-Nimbus, in comfort, or a Pegasus in speed and versatility.

Just getting into running and was looking for a wide shoe. The guy at the running store put me in a New Balance Fresh foam X 880 in 2E. It was the most comfortable shoe I tried there. I ordered a pair in my size along with a pair of Brooks Ghost Max 2E as they didn’t have them in store and I was curious about them. Can’t wait to try them on and see what works best for me!

I have the 880 and I've always wished it had been a bit softer and bouncier. I think 1080 V13 would be the answer. I like the fuel cell foam in NB, FF blast+ in Novablast 3 and Pwrn+ foam in Triumph as my favorite foams for daily trainers.

the pwrrun+ might be my favorite these days

Sounds very squishy. Would it make sense to work into a shorter session with the idea of stressing the feet a bit more with those micro adjustments potentially? Could be good for road runners who are needing to train for trail and that constant terrain change but done necessarily have a lot of trails near them?

I’m not sure if there are actually proprioceptive benefits to the shoe 😂. Just more of what it felt like underfoot for me personally. No matter what I would say if you are trying something new introduce it slowly/gradually

This is the squishiest running shoe I’ve ever run in so far. 😮

I think the only shoe that matches the feel is the asics gel nimbus 26 right now!

@@raddadbodtv I would have to disagree. Nimbus 26 feels like bricks compared to the 1080v13. 26 is even stiffer than the 25 which is a little more soft.

@@MrDucatiti I only have about 20 or so miles on the nimbus 26 right now so we’ll see how I feel here in 30 more miles or so but initial thoughts are the foams feel similar to me
