Who else does not like VR videos? The quality on youtube is pretty bad!
But I think it may be because it lose it's quality on youtube. Every VR video has poor quality when you compare it to regular videos. Why 1080s should not be like 1080p? This is just annoying! And yes, I noticed 4k option :)
Yes that's right, but there is like "10x" more cameras filming at a time. Hopefully this technology will improve in the future.
+Code X I would assume it's because when they say a 360 vid is 1080p, they mean the _entire_ picture is that definition. When you're watching a 360 vid, you only see a small section of it (maybe only 640x360 pixels or so).
But the end user should not care much about this stuff. We could not look at the whole picture at the same time. So that resolutions is kinda misleading.
PROgrammer8 is right. Instead of the 1080p being just the normal window of view that you would normally see, it is spread out over the span of six cameras, so you are really only seeing 1/6 of whatever resolution you choose. That's why it is really necessary to watch these in 4k.

Don't know if anyone noticed but there is quite a bit of post production work done on this. Looks to me like the jet pack is composited onto the frame afterwards which is a bit of a cheat
The top part of his suit was definitely added in post production.
- The shadows on that part aren't moving
- The edges aren't smooth.
I'm not questioning the jetpack itself, but something clearly had to be covered.

Precisely, the stitching is very wonky up close on the jetpack due to parallax, so instead of having something distorted, cut up and ghosted a patch with a proper image is used instead.
My theory is that they mybe used a drone and just put on the jetpack end person in postproduction? i don't know

Its fake, why I think that, well if you look to the left corner of the back of his jet pack you will see some unfocused pixels and the shadows on his jet pack don't move when he is turning, unfortunately this means the video was filmed with a drone/UAV and then they used a green screen to put the "Jetpack Man" in the video
You are incorrect, this is real, there is actually a man flying the jetpack. Im glad you think its fake though, means its a well put together video :)
I'm just stating some facts, just look at the back of his pack the shadows are not moving when he is moving. I work with green screens all the time and that is a common mistake

You are right in that the shadows on the jetpack are not moving. However what you do not realize is that this was a real event, with a real human flying the jetpack, and because of stitching artifacts with Omni being a foot from the pilots head, a photo of the jetpack was taken and used as a patch. The patch is not hiding a drone, it was not taken on a green screen, it is a real person flying, with a simple patch to clean up harsh seemlines.
Research this particular style of jetpack you'll learn it has a wider flight envelope than older designs.
I guess we will never know, honestly that's ok because it is still a good video

And fake, the body angle is so weird and he moves more than the background so that means the camera isn't attached to him. Every once in a while you can see little specs of green around his body. The shadow isn't at the right angle from where the sun is. Still a cool video but for a multi millionaire company. Try Harder

Jetpacks have such a limited range as to make them worthless for anything other than demonstration flights lasting less than a minute and most only about 20 seconds. Mini-turbofans and electric ducted fan "boards" are only limited in range by how many batteries one wants to carry. If you want to see what they can do just search for "flyboard air" here on CZcams.

There are random cuts in the video, no shadows on the backpack. Looks like drone footage with a 3d model of a jetpack man super imposed on it. I believe this really happened, but I think the original footage was not good enough for marketing purposes
