What baffles me is why a Carrack owner such as myself can't just simply upgrade my snub without having to purchase an additonal unit thereby making my base one, redundant.
You may lose 4 SCU of cargo but you have 4 SCU of internal storage which is way more needed when you try to rescue someone but that someone want to save their stuff as well.
@@MS-hw3xt fair point, my main reason being that I believe that the valkyrie is underated, but dropshiping is both a very specific gameplay and with already a lot of ship capable of it, so why not using a ship design to insert troup in hostile teritory and make it extract people with medical need
@@MS-hw3xt I suppose the Valkyrie would be more geared towards extracting people from the middle of an active combat zone, as opposed to the Apollo being a mobile hospital. So a medical Valkyrie would have lower tier beds, but would still have the same guns as the regular Valkyrie that allow it to serve as a gunship and supress the enemy while the wounded are being extracted.
Moving forward, please refer to the Carrack as a Pisces attachment that provides manned turrets, living quarters and vehicle bay to this cute little vessel.
They need to do a version of this ship with a habitat for explorers. Bed, kitchen, small bathroom. Maybe one box storage. A competitive ship to the mustang beta

Loses to the cutty red in that the cutty can hold an STV for evict illegals missions, but still great if you're picky with mission choice
this gives me hope that I can buy a habitat module for my Pisces (bed, shoilet, kitchenette), upgrade for a larger quantum fuel tank so I can do a little touring, a little exploration, a little cargo run on a small ship that I like

Problem is you cant upgrade bonus Pisces which comes with Carrack when it was possible before to upgrade basic Pisces to an Expedition one. Cig overlooked that it seems...🤬
CIG seem to dislike Carrack owners sometimes. Firstly they managed to hike the Carracks price up TWICE in the space of a few months just before release and then on release, subsequently hiking the prices of all Corvette sized ships up by at least double in the future too. Secondly Carrack owners funded the Pisces creation, but CIG give them a nerfed version in the C8 for not good reason, except to encourage them to spend more money for the C8X. Now they pull this. I love CIG, but sometimes their marketing directors seem like total scumbags -_-
I love the idea of keeping the carrack in orbit and blitzing to the surface in the C8R and then coming back with someone who needs the tier 2 medical bed.
People keep looking at this from concierge-level gameplay When in reality this is meant for the new players to help them get into medical and bunker game loops. From a beginner's standpoint, this ship makes complete sense. Then again this is just my opinion.
@@chazdomingo475 If this is your first ship for playing Star Citizen you may be disappointed. However if you tried Star citizen and decided to follow Bunker runs and medical gameplay then this is a great stepping stone.
The only issue is that the C8R is not a "game package" it is a "standalone ship". So as a noob, you would have to have a "starter ship" package for this to work. I learned the hard way by upgrading my Aurora to a 315p, and lost access to the PU and had to go back and undo it. I then used that $65 and got the C8X because it had the "starter package" you need to access the PU. After watching this video I thought about swapping but found out the C8R has the same issue as the 315p does for real $. Another + to the C8X is the 3 min wait time to reclaim it. When waiting 15 mins for my Prospector its great for jumping in and knocking out bunkers, can park right at the ramp too.
On a side question for the C8R for functionality, box missions look like the back area is functional enough for that, the back 'airlock' area though, is it large enough for any cargo boxes moved in by hand, the smaller ones or the 1SCU to take into bunkers for looting and such? Yeah, need tractor beam hand tool to get it in and out if it does fit of course, but was curious as a small addition for more use as a bunker mission solo player option?
I am wondering when we will get a GROUND MED VEHICLE. Its likely gonna be from ANVIL again, although the RSI URSA could do one as well. Not all ships have hangars and you might need a medivac on the ground to get to a ship with a T2/T1 medbay like a 600i (post rework). Not all rescue/medvac ships could go into combat without being shot down, therefore a ground medvac system would be most welcome.
I hope this means the Cutlass red gets an upgrade. It has less range than the C8R and it doesn't have those offers that the C8R has. If you add the Apollo, Endeavor, and Galaxy into the Mix why get a Red? I think it needs some interior redos
What I find annoying is that these new ships like the Corsair and the medical Pisces have things like door locks and a refrigerator that are broken on other ships!!! 😬 I really enjoyed having free drinks in my Redeemer!!! Of course the drinks are still there, CIG just removed the open door button!!!
I went on one during the free fly and the doors just slide open if you click on the drink, the buttons are so satisfying to click though especially on the Corsair!

Honestly while I agree with your assessment on the use case for the C8R and think it’s a pretty awesome little ship, I think you missed the mark on the “should you buy” portion. There is little reason to purchase this ship (with actual money) unless you want a dedicated medical starter ship. Give the high price for its capabilities and the cheap cost in-game, this feels like a solid do not buy. Earn it in-game instead.
I see this only being a time saver for tier 3 injuries (which are not really that sever) with how easy it is to bring someone back to life with the Med gun, I would have preferred that they spent the man power on older concepts ships/vehicles.
The red can carry vehicles, up to a RoC and Cyclone but the STV and Mule are more natural fits for the Red. For bunkers where you want to drive up to them...the Red is a much better choice.
Also this has a Jump drive? I need to confirm this to be sure be that is supposed to be a nice game changer for transport, perhaps they will backfill other ships or there will be an option to do a refit hmm.
Aside from replacing a seat with a panel that's only function is to tell you that you can't regenerate on the bed, this seems to be a very good option. Too bad I can't upgrade my C8X into one, it would be great for the running around I do, but I have no intention of paying CIG for a second Pisces; I'm dumb, but not *that* dumb :p
the way I would sum it up... Cutlass Red: if wanting to start in medical rescue as profession, on a low budget. ... Pisces C8R in compliment with Carrack where you want to extend range of medical rescue, not requiring to take Carrack down to planet surface.
An ambulance with laser repeaters feels wrong, but good luck getting a Vanduul to Den Haag for shooting at it, so its best to give them the tools to defend themselves.
did I hear that correctly that it has a Tier 3 bed but it only heals the lowest of injuries????? If that is true someone who created the bed system doesn't know medical cause Tier 3 is worse than tier 1. If it was a tier 1 bed that would make sense that it only heals the smallest of injuries and provides stability to get them to a hospital like an ambulance for example. A tier 3 bed should heal and stabilize almost all injuries outside of Tier 4 stuff.
They'll never finish the galaxy, get that while it's at this intro concept price and you'll have the Carrack as a loaner. Once it goes up in price you can just upgrade and save yourself a lot of money.

This is exactly what I was looking for. An actual ambulance. The Cutlass is not only pretty gross to fly (and as a medical environment...) but really a very odd ambulance. Kinda a random ship to make one consider it's size and jank factor. It makes more sense as a mass casualty unit like the busses places like NYC have. The C8 makes a lot more sense as an ambulance. I don't have the want to spend more on the game or anything I'd like to melt but this thing is sweet. Definitely getting in game.
how is the hydrogen fuel on this vs the Red? I find the red has not very good fuel and I need to go to a station often. If you were using this as a bunker runner vs the red.
The drake cutter is a better ambulance. And you can fit 3 med beds. One in the cabin and two in the cargo hold. Bathroom/decontamination room would also be a plus.
DO YOU RECOMMEND THE C8X PISCES EXPEDITION OR THE CUTTER FOR DELIVERY ONLY? I already got a Nomad (ill be upgrading it soon to a cutty) to use for mining with roc and selling scu cargo, I just want another ship but a smaller and lighter ship just for delivery.
It is better. A lot more maneuverable, way quicker acceleration, smaller footprint, infinite hydrogen fuel. Also if you get stranded on planet you can spawn these at any outpost with the platinum bay vehicle pads like you get your roc from
Losing the 4scu of cargo isn't really a thing unless this is your only ship. Once you have even something as small as a Cutlass four cargo isn't really going to do anything for you. Even the Freelancer Max's 120 seems small once you have a C2. 😆
Watching this fully knowing I am planning on CCUing my C8x starter pack to this. Also, I wonder if they will add this variant to the Siege Of Orison the help healing injuries on the Admin Center.
I love the Pisces. _(I wish they would make a Pisces XL to compete with the Freelancer and Cutlass.)_ but I already have bigger ships so spending IRL money on a regular old Pisces when it's only 400k in game... Nope. But making a new Pisces with the medical bed gives me the excuse to go buy one. (And I did on that first day) I won a Mule with LTI from The Yacht Club so for a few extra bucks I just CCUed that to the medical Pisces. 🚑💨
And here I thought the Cutlass Red was going to be the budget Ambulance, with the Apollo more a combat portable MASH unit and then the Endeavour as a full blown hospital. I guess they gave up on the Apollo and Red.
because this is in space.. space is alot bigger then oceans.. more "space" for scumbags, pirats, aliens and so on.. even civilian ships have weapons because of that.. military or police reaction times are alot longer then on one planets ocean and sometimes you are in regions where you cant even call these services because they are not present there.
There is no intention to build a game. CIG's business model is to sell jpeg concept ships instead. Even if a game was at all possible, CIG have no interest in finishing it, because there's little money in the PU, especially when they've stated ships are free in-game. By buying more jpeg ships, you only postpone your realization, that you will NEVER get your game (as described). You will NEVER see either SQ2042, SC PU or any of the iconic capital ships (that are 8-10 years in limbo already). Why? Because this is a feature creep scam & it was always intended to be that and only that. What breadcrumb progress you do see, is simply enough to look like CIG are trying, even though it's obvious they're NOT. This is what 10 years of breadcrumbs looks like: nothing is significantly done, not even the so-called priority, SQ2042 (see below). The most critical detail is this however: it's not remotely possible to build the game on a 13 year old, originally 32bit, inappropriate FPS game engine, that is no longer supported by Crytek (or Amazon) and is massively inefficient with computer resources. There are far too larger hurdles in the way, to allow this backbreaking engine, any hope of building such a large universe, with numerous enormous capital ships (>1000 metres), with crazy player # requirements, as well as the countless game features that have been promised like damage, repairs, mining, cargo, towing, racing, salvage, exploration, medical, FPS, bounty hunting, NPC's, ship hacking, smuggling, game economics, the vast universe environment, farming, parts maintenance, PES, passenger transportation, server meshing, media reporting, data running, quantum interdiction, base building, ship bazaars, stealth tech, etc., none of which are close to ready and many haven't even been started. Both CPU/GPU loads, with near zero feature creep implemented, have been seen on ISC (28 Oct 22) to just manage 16 fps doing nothing fancy (with high end gear). With 100% feature creep implemented, the processing demands would rise exponentially and we would need computer hardware so advanced, it will not exist literally this century, if ever. It's that bad! So why was this engine chosen then? Well, it looks good and is ideal bait to lure backers in with. That's why! The engine also allowed CIG to make rendered movies of what falsely looks like in-game footage of interactive gameplay, where what was rendered instead was just a movie only. The perfect example, is the infamous initial Kickstarter video, pitched to backers in 2012, where CIG lied that "actual game assets rendered in real time in engine" were clearly not the case. The video shows a Bengal Carrier, stated to be 1km long, that has never been seen used in-game once (in 10 years), but we've seen countless rendered movies of it however. They didn't have any game content in 2012, much less a Bengal Carrier; they lied to you even then, that it existed. You have various scenes with CR holding a console controller, lying that he was playing (what was instead) the rendered movies we were viewing. There is no interactive game footage, or game, that those movies were captured from. Recent tours of inside the Idris are also false - they too are just collections of independent videos made into a montage, with no actual interactive game behind them. The legal hassles involving SQ42 are relevant as well. CIG had a license to make 1 game with Crytek's engine, but being the crooks that they are, they made two games instead (the PU & SQ42) and that means Crytek sued them for breach of contract/theft. CIG claimed they used Lumberyard to continue work on SQ42, but it's not that easy to switch. CIG have since settled out of court, meaning they had indeed made an illegal game. This means SQ42 has been in utter limbo since: all work would have to be scrapped entirely and Crytek would have to be paid everything CIG earnt as well. You'll find Crytek owns CIG because of it. Settling tells backers everything right there: no work has been completed on SQ42 whatsoever. Seven years, where CIG said SQ42 was the priority (over the PU) are now for nothing. They really fracked up, when splitting the single player intro from the PU, but if you're a crook, it's tough to go against your nature and so it happened! They created a second game, when they only had a license to make one. The irony is, CIG cannot make SQ42 anyway, for the same reasons it can't make the PU, which doesn't matter to CIG, because this is about scamming jpeg ships (now) instead. Also consider Chris Roberts: sacked from Microsoft, for the same vaporware issues with Freelancer ~20 years ago. He was blacklisted after that by the industry and that is why he showed up a decade later on Kickstarter scamming! It's been 10 years since and little has been worked on. We haven't seen any evidence that SQ42 exists, because it's not even been worked on. If they had indeed something to show, we'd be seeing it all the time. The income generated from such a demo, would be unimaginable. Instead we see rendered movies. Clearly it's all a charade, that hinges on distracting victims from the reality, that the game is impossible to make. Even the revenue CIG claims it generates is questionable; this too is a deliberate distraction/deception, designed to prevent backers realizing the game (as promised) is impossible to make. It's now over a decade later, where the biggest evidence, that you'll NEVER see your game (as promised), is it's a decade later and there's no end in sight.

Rather than guns I'd give it better shields and some extra armor (or HP for now), against most ships 4 S1 are as useless as 2 are.
I upgraded my invictus piscis for this one and the invictus paint looks good on it like a Navi search and rescue ship
It fits in the Corsair so thats one big benefit as a med bed is one of the exploration things it was missing lol

Second bed id imagine it has more weapons as well or at least more powerful ones but I haven’t checked the red in a long time.

Well I can tell you it's a really fun little ship. If they come out with a vehicle that fits its a perfect, fun, bunker runner.

I will definitely put a C8R in my liberator's hangar... But it will probably be bought in-game.

how is the hydrogen fuel on this vs the Red? I find the red has not very good fuel and I need to go to a station often. If you were using this as a bunker runner vs the red.

The drake cutter is a better ambulance. And you can fit 3 med beds. One in the cabin and two in the cargo hold.
Bathroom/decontamination room would also be a plus.

I already got a Nomad (ill be upgrading it soon to a cutty) to use for mining with roc and selling scu cargo, I just want another ship but a smaller and lighter ship just for delivery.
It is better. A lot more maneuverable, way quicker acceleration, smaller footprint, infinite hydrogen fuel. Also if you get stranded on planet you can spawn these at any outpost with the platinum bay vehicle pads like you get your roc from

Losing the 4scu of cargo isn't really a thing unless this is your only ship. Once you have even something as small as a Cutlass four cargo isn't really going to do anything for you. Even the Freelancer Max's 120 seems small once you have a C2. 😆

a bit late.. but this ship can get into a cavern or deep cave and tight spaces. Just incase you slip and bleed to death.
Watching this fully knowing I am planning on CCUing my C8x starter pack to this. Also, I wonder if they will add this variant to the Siege Of Orison the help healing injuries on the Admin Center.

it is very maneuverable, a small target which is difficult to hit and maxes out the current ingame speed cap.

I love the Pisces. _(I wish they would make a Pisces XL to compete with the Freelancer and Cutlass.)_ but I already have bigger ships so spending IRL money on a regular old Pisces when it's only 400k in game... Nope. But making a new Pisces with the medical bed gives me the excuse to go buy one. (And I did on that first day) I won a Mule with LTI from The Yacht Club so for a few extra bucks I just CCUed that to the medical Pisces. 🚑💨

And here I thought the Cutlass Red was going to be the budget Ambulance, with the Apollo more a combat portable MASH unit and then the Endeavour as a full blown hospital. I guess they gave up on the Apollo and Red.

I don't understand why medical ships need weapons. Hospital ships on the oceans don't have them. Every ships don't need to have weapons.
because this is in space.. space is alot bigger then oceans.. more "space" for scumbags, pirats, aliens and so on.. even civilian ships have weapons because of that.. military or police reaction times are alot longer then on one planets ocean and sometimes you are in regions where you cant even call these services because they are not present there.
That's easy a answer they are a war and it's the future we all need guns on ship or on person.

There is no intention to build a game. CIG's business model is to sell jpeg concept ships instead. Even if a game was at all possible, CIG have no interest in finishing it, because there's little money in the PU, especially when they've stated ships are free in-game. By buying more jpeg ships, you only postpone your realization, that you will NEVER get your game (as described). You will NEVER see either SQ2042, SC PU or any of the iconic capital ships (that are 8-10 years in limbo already). Why? Because this is a feature creep scam & it was always intended to be that and only that. What breadcrumb progress you do see, is simply enough to look like CIG are trying, even though it's obvious they're NOT. This is what 10 years of breadcrumbs looks like: nothing is significantly done, not even the so-called priority, SQ2042 (see below).
The most critical detail is this however: it's not remotely possible to build the game on a 13 year old, originally 32bit, inappropriate FPS game engine, that is no longer supported by Crytek (or Amazon) and is massively inefficient with computer resources. There are far too larger hurdles in the way, to allow this backbreaking engine, any hope of building such a large universe, with numerous enormous capital ships (>1000 metres), with crazy player # requirements, as well as the countless game features that have been promised like damage, repairs, mining, cargo, towing, racing, salvage, exploration, medical, FPS, bounty hunting, NPC's, ship hacking, smuggling, game economics, the vast universe environment, farming, parts maintenance, PES, passenger transportation, server meshing, media reporting, data running, quantum interdiction, base building, ship bazaars, stealth tech, etc., none of which are close to ready and many haven't even been started. Both CPU/GPU loads, with near zero feature creep implemented, have been seen on ISC (28 Oct 22) to just manage 16 fps doing nothing fancy (with high end gear). With 100% feature creep implemented, the processing demands would rise exponentially and we would need computer hardware so advanced, it will not exist literally this century, if ever. It's that bad!
So why was this engine chosen then? Well, it looks good and is ideal bait to lure backers in with. That's why! The engine also allowed CIG to make rendered movies of what falsely looks like in-game footage of interactive gameplay, where what was rendered instead was just a movie only. The perfect example, is the infamous initial Kickstarter video, pitched to backers in 2012, where CIG lied that "actual game assets rendered in real time in engine" were clearly not the case. The video shows a Bengal Carrier, stated to be 1km long, that has never been seen used in-game once (in 10 years), but we've seen countless rendered movies of it however. They didn't have any game content in 2012, much less a Bengal Carrier; they lied to you even then, that it existed. You have various scenes with CR holding a console controller, lying that he was playing (what was instead) the rendered movies we were viewing. There is no interactive game footage, or game, that those movies were captured from. Recent tours of inside the Idris are also false - they too are just collections of independent videos made into a montage, with no actual interactive game behind them.
The legal hassles involving SQ42 are relevant as well. CIG had a license to make 1 game with Crytek's engine, but being the crooks that they are, they made two games instead (the PU & SQ42) and that means Crytek sued them for breach of contract/theft. CIG claimed they used Lumberyard to continue work on SQ42, but it's not that easy to switch. CIG have since settled out of court, meaning they had indeed made an illegal game. This means SQ42 has been in utter limbo since: all work would have to be scrapped entirely and Crytek would have to be paid everything CIG earnt as well. You'll find Crytek owns CIG because of it. Settling tells backers everything right there: no work has been completed on SQ42 whatsoever. Seven years, where CIG said SQ42 was the priority (over the PU) are now for nothing. They really fracked up, when splitting the single player intro from the PU, but if you're a crook, it's tough to go against your nature and so it happened! They created a second game, when they only had a license to make one. The irony is, CIG cannot make SQ42 anyway, for the same reasons it can't make the PU, which doesn't matter to CIG, because this is about scamming jpeg ships (now) instead.
Also consider Chris Roberts: sacked from Microsoft, for the same vaporware issues with Freelancer ~20 years ago. He was blacklisted after that by the industry and that is why he showed up a decade later on Kickstarter scamming! It's been 10 years since and little has been worked on. We haven't seen any evidence that SQ42 exists, because it's not even been worked on. If they had indeed something to show, we'd be seeing it all the time. The income generated from such a demo, would be unimaginable. Instead we see rendered movies. Clearly it's all a charade, that hinges on distracting victims from the reality, that the game is impossible to make. Even the revenue CIG claims it generates is questionable; this too is a deliberate distraction/deception, designed to prevent backers realizing the game (as promised) is impossible to make. It's now over a decade later, where the biggest evidence, that you'll NEVER see your game (as promised), is it's a decade later and there's no end in sight.
Why would anyone need t3 bed. The most useless thing in the Universe
