I find it amazing how stances vary from person to person and then within the same person depending on what side of the plate they bat on. Fascinating stuff.

I feel like this video should've been longer, but other then that, I love the many unique stances there are and how there still able to crush the ball

I’ve been working on switch hitting at a batting cage the last 2-3 years. And, that’s something I’ve noticed. My stances are actually fairly similar, but my swings are pretty different. Being a natural left handed hitter and right handed thrower, the majority of my left handed swings have the one handed swing/follow through. But, with my right handed swing, I’ve noticed I tend to complete my swings with both hands still on the bat.

Hey guys ... my boy's in 4th grade and dong actually well as a switch hitter! And, more importantly, he loves it. Right now he wants to attempt creating a "Mirror Swing." In other words, using the same stance and mind set from both sides. Is that a good idea? P.S. Switch hitters ROCK!

Oh yeah, who do you, Danny and who do you, Mark, like better as a switch hitter. Mantle or Carew?

Coming from a switch hitter myself, it’s more about the limitations of your body which determines my stances on both sides of the plate. I had surgery on my right ankle and my right hip has always been tight. So I keep my right leg hitting right handed pidgin toed only so I can clear my hips easy. Left handed my left leg is more flexible so I really don’t worry about it. switch hitting is not something for everybody this is something I encourage for people who are just starting.

I’m a switch hitter (natural righty) and this is surprisingly similar to my approach in the box.

A major league hitter is a good hitter, not the best in the league, but still a good hitter.

Chops it was a joke. i know that any professional ball player has good advice to offer, it just would have been more reassuring if they got someone who was a good hitter

Head and hands. Set your sights high, at the top of the zone. Sit dead red, from BOTH sides. Also, DON'T devote EQUAL time from both sides. You're facing a righty 80-90% of the time, why would you devote 50% of the time batting right handed?? Look in the mirror, it's best if both swings/stances essentially 'mirror' each other, making adjustments and success EASIER!!

Maddox Santiago he’s a career .226 hitter, .302 OBP, .388 SLG. He’s a switch power hitter that can’t make consistent contact and he’s a guess hitter. He’s not good at all, he plays average second base and shortstop.
