For Days of Future Past, PLEASE watch “The Rogue Cut”!!! It’s a better version of that movie that adds a whole subplot! The theatrical cut is luckily great, but The Rogue Cut is way better!!!
Yuriko's vision: "I see you on your back, There's blood everywhere, You're holding your own heart in Your Hands" Remember this when you watch Logan.
nice. now days of future past next!
Just a heads up, be sure to do the "Rogue Cut" for Days of Future Past
@@lastknight5734 Shush! Geez!
I think one of the lesser known abilities that wolverine has is animal empathy, I think it has something to do with his animalistic nature, but the reason why the grizzly never attacked him, and the reason why he did what he did is because the grizzly and him could probably see each other’s peaceful nature,
And share their feelings
That's just sad. The last thing I'd ever want is to be able to feel the pain of an animal.
In the comics where everyone is evolved from primates, Logan's bloodline is actually evolved from wolves.
@@mage1439If you don't want to feel pain Wolverine is probably the wrong guy to identify with.
@@cptbabyface9804Thankfully that awful retcon in Wolverine #53 in 2007 was reversed (re-retconned?) in Wolverine #312 in 2012. Remus (Romulus’ sister) confirmed that the Lupines didn’t exist and this was all to mess with his head. Basically the physical trauma wasn’t good enough and Romulus really wanted to damage his psyche which is a bit of a recurring theme. Unfortunately, that same issue had some retcons around the origins of Weapon X that make no sense and still haven’t been cleared up.
@@doofinator4285 I was not aware of that. Thank you for informing me.
The R-rated cut for this movie honestly slaps. Probably one of the most underrated comic book films ever.
Yeah, I think most people forget there is a rougher version you can watch.
@@ThatShyGuyMattI didn't forget, I was just never informed.
@@ThatShyGuyMattDidn't know that is R rated?
Wtf, there's an R-rated version? Okay, how did I not know this before? What the hell is going on
it’s called The Wolverine Unleashed Extended Edition guys! and it has 12 mins of added footage
the reason Logan was paying attention to the tattoos is because in Japan the only people usually covered in tattoos are people who are apart of the Yakuza (japanese mob) so with Logan aware they were after the family it was a tip off
That is a belief that is more common with the older generation. There are more and more people that have tattoos in Japan that have nothing to do with the mafia.
yea but those specific tattoos are yakuza tattoos. @@bandotaku
@@NotKidding52 Maybe so, but my point was more about the stigma than what he actually saw.
I'd hate to rain on your parade, but saying "apart" means to divide, break into pieces or parts, or to disassemble.
I still understand the sentence, but misspelling a word can change the sentence entirely, so the word you're looking for is "a part."
@@ArcticGorilla47 nah you didn’t rain on my parade, I always appreciate constructive criticism.
Hugh Jackman said he was never completely satisfied with his appearance in the previous movies. So he got absolutely jacked for this one and he said he felt like it was closer to the comics.
@@mrjason8666That was the peak. Even he was impressed by himself when he was standing in front of the mirror for that scene thinking he’ll never look like that again.
So you're saying he became a..... Huge Jackedman?🤡🥸🤓🥳🧐🤔🤮
To give some context in Japan, shame is considered worse than death. To lose a battle and not kill the person you were facing was considered dishonorable unless you were to take your own life with a ritual suicide known as Seppuku (what was happening at the beginning with people kneeling with their daggers), killing or dying facing the person you lost to. Also the socks with "sandals" is a traditional way of dressing in Japan
1 step closer to deadpool
And one step closer to Logan
And one step closer to being done with this crap
Days of the Future Past
1 step closer to logan
Days of future past
I love how you make sponsored segments actually enjoyable to watch
Same. I normally skip such things but his are so entertaining.
Thought Alex had a twin 😅
This movie wasn’t regarded highly but I agree with you and I think it’s underrated. By the way, asking a ninja not to parkour is like asking a Hefner not to make a sex reference
You should definitely watch Bullet Train, if you haven't already. Also, Logan getting mad at people who don't know his condition is because he's had to explain it countless times over many decades so he's over it. It makes sense for the character. And many Japanese use chopsticks after cremation to moves the removing bones to their resting place by passing them chopstick to chopstick. Those chopsticks are placed vertically, which is why you don't do that when eating and when passing food.
Second the Bullet Train, that's a real boys movie.
If you like how they found ways to keep Jean’s actress in the film for at least one more then I recommend that the next X-Men: Days of Future Past be the Rogue Edition. They bring back Anna Paquin for the sake of the plot but then cut her out for the sake of pacing in the theatrical version.
I’ve been commenting on every one of his X-Men reactions saying to watch The Rogue Cut, it’ll be so much better (even though the theatrical cut is still great)
@@mr.moviemafia The ONLY downside to the Rogue Cut is they use alternate takes of some stuff which I don't like as much.
I am also Team Promote-The-Rogue-Cut lol
The climax of the movie is way better knowing there was a reason and not just “they found them now because it was convenient for the plot to advance”
Definitely 💯 Rogue Cut! Can't get that one on Disney Disney plus!!
@@Metal_Mary yeah it’s hard to find anywhere streaming, although allegedly, Google Play and CZcams have it available to rent.
Being Australian, I can definitely say that Hugh Jackman is as nice in person, as he is in interviews. I haven't "met" him, however I have seen him (I didn't go over like many others did as he was actually eating with his wife). My friends and I were in a restaurant in the city (Sydney) at Circular Quay, and Hugh was there with his wife. Most people didn't approach him, and there was a group of 6 or 7 people who did. He simply asked if they would let him finish his meal with his wife, then he would be happy to sign autographs and take photo's (which he did). His wife was just as nice, she was the one taking the photographs for the fans. This was about 12 years ago now, but I have never forgotten how nice he was and how he handled that situation.
The movies don't do a great job of explaining how Xavier survived, but there is a reason. In "The Last Stand", Charles is giving a lecture about the ethics of psychic powers. He shows a video of a man who is brain-dead being kept alive artificially and asks his class if it is ethical for a psychic mutant to plant their consciousness in his body, and then right before he dies at Jean's hand, he does exactly that. But what the movie doesn't make explicitly clear is that that man is Charles's twin brother who had been brain dead their entire lives, which is why he still looks and sounds like himself. There's no explanation for how he's still paralyzed, though. And the only reason people know this is because it was in the screenwriter's commentary on "The Last Stand." Also, tue doctor who was keeping his brother alive was Moira McTaggert, whom you may remember from "First Class."
To be fair, being crippled seems to be Charles' default state. How many times has he been cured only to be re-crippled? And whatever number it is (it is several) consider how weird it is to happen twice, much less over and over.
If you think about it, the twin brother has been bed ridden his entire life so all his muscles atrophied. That’s how he’s still paralyzed
I got all this by only watching the movies I think he is just focused on being entertaining which is fine but sometimes he doesn’t pickup on everything. When I go into movies I make sure to pick up every detail I can, it makes it more fun for me.
@@johnmartin9854 Good call! I must admit, I never thought of that and it is a perfectly logically coherent explanation. 👍🏻
This was probably ret-conned, but at one point, it was said that Xavier can walk perfectly fine, but he chooses not to so that he can focus on using his brain more. So, in his old body he was crippled, and could have gotten so used to it that he chose to continue in his new body.
I remember watching this movie in theaters and being astonished that they somehow managed to recreate all the relevant comic panels, specially one with Logan covered in arrows and yet somehow getting the story completely wrong. That movie wasted the Silver Samurai in the worst way.
Facts.
How should it have been done ?
They got bits and pieces correct, but Logan was quite familiar with Japan, its culture and its language, as he was already fluent in the language in the original story. The “fish outta water” element was ridiculous, as was their portrayal of the Silver Samurai.
@@rohandante Let me put it this way, one of Wolverine's listed characteristics in his comics is "big in Japan". This was a unique thing for a comic book character. Japanese comic book readers basically breathe life into what would become the Wolverine we all know and love. never mind all the story elements that they wasted. Wolverine vs the Silver Samurai should have one of the most epic battles ever instead...well you saw what we got.
@@rohandante You want to understand just how important Japan is to Wolverine's story, read "Wolverine By Chris Claremont", and "Wolverine: Blood debt" by Steve Skroce, and if you want to fully understand what Amiko and Yukio means to him, read Kitty Pryde and Wolverine by Chris Claremont.
"you'll die with your own heart in your hands" ugh Alex, you're not ready

@@TheKing_Sam for all he knows I could just be quoting THIS movie. Thanks for being that guy you idiot
33:07 - while I have never met Hugh Jackman, he does have a reputation for being one of the nicest people in Hollywood. People say he’s a really kind, down-to-earth, normal guy who’s super nice to everyone, including fans he meets. Would love to meet him one day!
I hope Phoenix comes back in the MCU as has been rumored. Famke Janssen is awesome and I'm always happy to see her getting more high-profile roles and such.
They have to make up for two botched Dark Phoenix Sagas. 🤣
You want them to start the X-men in the MCU when they are already on their way to the nursing home? She's almost 60.
@@robertreichle1 Sadly the older actors are the only ones Marvel can use because of the stupid contracts Fox had with the actors from the previous movies which don't end until after something like 2025. No new actors can be cast until then so don't expect a new X-Men movie until about 2030. Until then it's either using the old original cast or the newer one that nobody cared about in the last few movies.
The X-Men movies are without a doubt some of my favorite movies. The storylines are so cool and interesting. Loved the reaction like always Alex!
I was a cook in a restaurant that Hugh Jackman came into. He was amazing. a truly wonderfully nice person and he tipped the whole staff very well
I for once don’t have a lot to say because this movie was actually pretty good about answering questions. Also because the plot isn’t all that connected to the rest of what was happening in the X-men movies.
A quick fun fact! There’s a deleted scene from the end of this movie that shows Logan being given a briefcase that contains the comic accurate yellow and blue/black suit and everyone got so hype but sadly it’s deleted for a reason.
Only one more movie before Deadpool!! And Days of Future Past is also one of the great ones!
It worked very well, the way they took the story. In comics it was a long tour of Japan and his relationship with the daughter. And I believe it was a long story arc in Wolverine's own titled comic. So now Magneto AND Xavier have come to ask Logan's help. Where it goes is maybe the best written storyline in X-men history. It has a fairly substantially huge finish as well.
When you watch Days of future past; MAKE SURE YOU WATCH THE ROUGE CUT
Hugh Jackman is one of the nicest people you could ever meet…a rarity for someone with his fame status. A true Hollywood treasure!
I just realized that, the whole bear sequence was straight out of the Wolverine comic book.😂
Absolutely loving your enthusiasm for these X-men films.
Personally, The Wolverine wasn't one of my favourites in the series but it had it's moments.
The Days of Future Past however is definitely one of my favourite comic book superhero films of all time let alone in the X-men series.
The realization that the giant Japanese robot samurai and that Hugh Jackman was in Reel steel, was a nice crossover
If you're confused, there was an after credit scene where Patrick Stewart was laying in a hospital bed in a very pretty house. The story behind that was Charles was born a twin, but while he and his twin were in the womb Charles had mutant powers and absorbed the twin's mind/conciseness, so that twin was born in acoma. Years later when Charles Xavior was killed he managed to transfer his mind into the twin, so in essence Charles never died.
I've been binging your videos for the last couple of days and you've become one of my favorite reactors. I love the theme with the marvel universe and the way you sprinkle in different kind of movies in between. Just wanted to leave a comment and say thanks for great content! :)
The Wolverine movie is based on Wolverines first solo comic where he moves to Japan. In the comic Logan had a romantic relationship with both Mariko and Yukio. Yukio in the comics isn't a mutant she's a regular human mercenary.
The extended cut IS rated R. That’s why I leave these on every X-Men video you’ve posted. So you watch the versions you’d rather see lol

@@robertmckay5325 wife, actually. And what a weird assumption to make about someone you don’t even remotely know. How am I controlling? Clearly I’m not controlling Alex or he would have followed my suggestions. Which is what they are. Suggestions that have been decided by the fanbase as the best way to watch the movies. He literally said he wished it was rated R. The cut I suggested to him is rated R. I doubt you’ll find a girlfriend being rude to strangers like that. But go off, I guess.
You're the Wade Wilson of reaction videos. The multiverse will collapse when you react to Deadpool.
"On your back, blood everywhere, heart in your hands" is exactly how he died in logan. He died holding his daughters hand
Murimasa is something the comics use to take away healing factors, wolverines son daken has his claws dipped in it, wolverine had a special sword made that took over a decade to make that can kill anything, he gave it to Cyclops to hide it from him
The reason for charles being alive is that he put his consciousness into his twin brothers body using his telepathy
I love how her prediction will still come true... just not in this film lol Holding his "heart" in his hands has a more beautiful meaning to it.
No, it refers to the scene at 31:50
Alex: "Master Yashida? Who the hell is that?"
"Master Yashida is dying"
Alex: (concerned gasp)
8:45 Was that Hugh Jackman cameo by accident or on purpose? I could honestly believe a yes or no answer to that question.

@@CosmicMumenRider Hugh Jackman in The Greatest Showman on the billboard in the background. He plays P.T. Barnum in that movie.
Tattoos in Japan are associated with Yakuza. Most people in Japan do not get tattoos and a lot of places will not serve you if you have them… even as an American tourist. A lot of places are trying to change the narrative but it’s still strict in places. So keep that in mind if you travel there.
There's a deleted scene on the plane at the end where Yukio gives Logan a case. He opens to it find the comic book Wolverine suit and it would have made the film end so well if they kept that in. Seeing as it looks like he's going to don that outfit in the new Deadpool!
Alex goes from wondering why someone would give up immortality to pondering all the emotional and psychological trauma you'd collect while living forever. Dude basically answered his own question immediately. Carrying all that trauma takes its toll, and you'd probably reach a point where you'd welcome death just because it's a rest from it all that you never thought you'd get. But Logan knows the toll it takes, and he knows that those who seek his kind of immortality don't truly grasp what it means to live forever and all that comes with it.
The end credits scene with Magneto and Charles leads into the next movie, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and it's probably the best ensemble X-Men movie of them all. Logan is also incredible, and it's the best Wolverine solo movie.
I would love to go to Japan one day. I just love their culture.
Same here 🥰

@@foodreacts837 - Haha, it's in the title of the reaction.
minor "spoiler" alert:
Logan did not die on that table; Yukio's vision refers to something that happens in "Logan", even though it does in more of a metaphorical way, which has been confirmed by the director. pretty sure it was a convenience thing rather than being planned like that from the very beginning though...😅 still fits quite good.

The Wolverine and Apocalypse are (by far) the two most under-appreciated movies in this series. I think both are legitimately great but neither get the love they deserve in comparison to some others.
I agree wholeheartedly
The actually is an R-Rated cut of the movie that is BIG improvement. It was originally released on the 4K Release, but it’s probably available digitally as well. It makes a really solid movie into an almost great one.
met mister jackman in lower manhatten some years ago - i gave a quiet nod just to show love - as he was with his fam. he nods back - like 3 mins later comes over hand shake and we spoke for a few - SUPER NICE MAN
On film sets, at least when he was making the first 2 X-Men films, Hugh knew all of the crew and would even try to help out. I met him in Toronto. Super nice guy. He's every bit as cool and friendly as you would hope.
Hugh jackman is seen as one of the nicest guys. There was a sweet moment where a guy was interviewing him, and hugh remembered him as one of his students when he taught PE in school, and they had a little banter together, it was a funny and sweet moment of hugh

Interesting fact, Kusuri, (thats probably spelled wrong), the name the old man called Logan, translates to something like "Medicine" or "Cure" or something close to it in English.
33:03 Hugh Jackmann is known to be a super nice person. Always friendly and wholesome and he has an awesome friendship with Ryan Reynolds
Was excited to see your end credits reaction. This movie still managed to be good after the big changes they made from the comic. 🔥
26:05 anyone else think that was actually a clever callback to his previous joke?
The bom dropped on Hiroshima was a shot-gun type fission bomb using only U-235, a less stable isotope of Uranium. The U-235 and U-238 were separated through gaseous diffusion and an explosive at one end of the bomb shot a uranium pellet into a mass of uranium creating a chain reaction and achieving critical mass. The first thing you see upon detonation is a light so bright it will literally blind you followed by a shockwave radiating outwards as the air is sucked out of ground zero causing a difference of pressure resulting in a vacuum. If I’m correct, the initial explosion is similar to a large conventional explosion and the shockwave is what causes most of the damage surrounding ground zero. The shockwave expands with rapid forces and air quickly returns to the point of detonation to equalize the air pressure difference and radioactive dust shoots into the air in the mushroom cloud and is rained down. That’s why it’s important to be upwind of the explosion because the wind helps carry the radioactive dust. If you encounter a black bear, try to be as big and as loud as possible. Fight back. If it’s a brown bear, lie down. If it’s a grizzly bear, play dead
8:45 the fact that there's the greatest showman poster on the left. which is another movie in which Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) played the main character.
13:48 in the stormlight archive there are 10 people who lived for thousands of years and what you learn of them (and others in that universe) is that the midn is not made to live more than a couple of hundred years.
The reason Viper shed her skin in the movie is because when she does that she sheds the injuries she received from the arrow, you could say she sheds her former body.
8:46 what’s funny is that in the background there’s a the greatest showman ad on the screen in which Hugh Jackman aka Logan has the leading role
Since Alex Hefner asked- after an atom bomb is dropped, it explodes due to nuclear fission reaction. What happens next can be divided into 2 groups- blast effect and thermo-nuclear effect.
Blast effect is creation of blast waves that spreads across miles and miles of radius creating pressure differences in the air, leading to crushing effect, like a person within the radius of the blast will be crushed like a road kill. Maybe blown to pieces. Then there is debris and fire etc, all that that causes destruction.
2nd one is the thermo-nuclear effect due to the actual fission reaction taking place which produces large amount of heat that will vapourise people standing very close and will burn people standing far far away, it's called radiation burns.
And when everything settles, there are nuclear fallout effects which people have read and known about like genetic mutation etc and what happens to people who are exposed to nuclear radiation (watch chernobyl for visual aid).
But my main objective was to explain what happens at the time of explosion, what are the destruction causing factors at play at the moment when explosion has occured.
you know what I don’t know when the last time I waited this eagerly for something! Now I'm happy and exhausted.
Btw loved this movie and loving your reaction ❤

Because you asked: I actually met Hugh Jackman! He picked me out of the audience during his Back On Broadway show during the opening of the 2nd act. He was reprising his role as Peter Allen from The Boy From Oz. It was a totally crazy experience since he asked my name and pretended to flirt with me, etc. I was totally star struck. I didn’t come down from that high for about a week!

There is a really cool deleted/alternate scene where wolverine gets his classic suit, it’s only in a case and Schoen but really cool
I worked under a chef who, when he was a bit younger, catered for Hugh Jackman in his NYC place; walks through the front door armload of food and there is hugh jackman at the end of a long hall, my chef awkwardly "Hi I'm Nick" , Hugh Jackman beaming "Hi I'm Hugh"
Not an exciting story but the rest of the afternoon was chill and Nick said Hugh was just a regular guy and very kind

To clarify things, the Fox X-Men films are set in multiple timelines:
The Original Trilogy (X-Men, X-2, and The Last Stand), First Class, and The Wolverine are set on Earth-10005. Days of Future Past is also set on Earth-10005, but introduces a new timeline: Earth-TRN414 (the alternate version of Earth-10005 that Logan was sent back into). X-Men: Apocalypse is set in this new timeline.
The Logan movie is set in its own timeline as well, Earth-17315.
The first Deadpool movie is set on Earth-TRN414
Deadpool 2 is set on Earth-41633 (which was identical to TRN414 until Wade's girlfriend, Vanessa was murdered). The post-credit scene of Wade saving Vanessa is Earth-TRN414 (the altered scene from X-Men Origins: Wolverine is Earth-18315).
For reference, the MCU's timeline is Earth-19999 (and Earth-838 from Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness).
- Mysterio's labeling of the MCU's main timeline as Earth-616 in Spider-Man: Far from Home was just a reference to Earth-616 being the prime timeline in the comics. In-universe, it was just a lie he made up on the spot to make everyone think he was a hero from a different universe.
Also, the Yukio we see in this movie (played by Rira Fukushima) is an alternate version of the Yukio we saw in Deadpool 2 (played there by Shiori Kutsuna).
19:40 It's a love hotel. They exist mostly to provide a private place to get it on, as most people live in apartments with paper-thin (or sometimes literally paper) walls with no privacy as far as sound goes. And for the relatively few that live in a house, it's usually with lots of family always there.
Also you skipped the post-credits teaser that shows off a comic-looking yellow and black Wolverine costume (he didn't wear it, just saw it in a case he got). Though he (or a version of him) will be wearing it in Deadpool 3, along with a proper comic-accurate yellow and blue costume.
Wolverines son daken has a full sleeve arm tattoo and i can't understand why his healing factor would push the ink out, i already know everyone's argument on how tattoos are applied, but his healing factor would still push the ink out
