Am I really ready to take on the toughest tech challenge I’ve ever seen? Lots of my buddies have cleaned Horsethief Bench in Fruita. But my buddies have also done lots of things that I can’t pull off yet. It’s all about MY skills and level of comfort. I knew I had to attempt the Bench today, but I didn’t think it would be this damn scary.

The key to surviving Horsethief, is to let the pros do it and just watch them on youtube :)
Guaranteed success, worked for me. I did not die while viewing the video.
I think your on to something lol
Indeed! Risk vs. reward. Hubris vs. bragging rights. A lifetime of enjoying MTB'ing vs. spending months recovering or worse.
Backstory: I'm 75 and help coach a high school MTB Team. I hope I'm demonstrating that one can enjoy MTB'ing for a lifetime. I can't and won't do the technical 3 foot drops and 10 foot jumps that many of the kiddos can do; but I can enjoy watching their progress in both fitness and skills. And their parents too!! 🙂
Rubber side down .... Rule #1 is FUN!!
@@jddallager1699 oh what team do you coach?

Horsethief’s bench is where I suck up the pride, get off and walk... that section right after Horsethief’s tho, holy crap so beauty...
Your riding has gotten so much better this year and you are taking on way more challenges than ever before! Kudos!
I rode this trail two days ago! I was extremely proud to have gone more than half way down the drop in, and then clear the rest of the trail. It’s sketchy as hell!
Well done Bryan! As always, GoPro does very little justice to a massive feature that's difficult to even walk down. Moore Fun actually looked pretty interesting, I did think that a lot of the trails other than Horsethief (which is amazing) were pretty boring in the Kokopelli area but will give Moore a shot next time I'm over there.
RC is the world's greatest commentator. This is a perfect collab!
Dude I feel like I barely make it out of my SPD's in time when I slow-mo a bad berm entry. I cannot fathom the skill needed to unclip fast enough not to die violently on that run. You owned it. Awesome.
Never been happier to support the channel and looking forward to getting my tshirt :) much love Brian!
I love how you relish the sort of tech that some folks hate. It’s exactly the kind of punishment I enjoy, although your skills are a bit higher than mine. Inspiration!
just bought a T-shirt...glad to help a fellow junkie in need. I've been watching your vids for awhile now and they have brought me joy when I can't ride. Cheers mate and perhaps I'll see ya on the trail one of these days!
Killed it Bryan, Rode this trail system last fall for the first time with my two brothers. Walked horsethief bench but will attempt to conquer it this year. Awesome trails, cool town, and don’t forget to ride 18 road while your in the area!
Mad respect for riding that section. I’ve been on it a handful of times and was nowhere close finishing it
I lived in Fruita for 2 years (2014 & 2015). Horsethief Bench is my favorite ride. I would never attempt that drop in. I always walked it to keep myself out of the emergency room 😀. Always love the show. Bay Area rider in Moraga. Miss Fruita all the time. I was back in town last October for a bike trip. You need to ride the new Palisade Plunge.
Talk about Beast Mode! Dude, you did those features insanely fast! Great job Brian!
Brian; you’re a stud man.. I visited that trail on our way to Moab last fall and I was sliding down that feature on my ass in a few spots!
Great job, Looks like you had a blast out there.. Tough and beautiful terrain.ðŸ‘
The most honest merch pitch ever haha
Tremendous, Brian!🙌🤙 the hands were sweating and then relief you sent the whole line!! 🔥
Great work Brian! Last April, we were on our way from Fruita to Moab and I went OTB on the rock slab/rock roll/drop. Too much speed and tried to roll it. Bad move. Broke a rib and a bone in my hand. Lesson learned.
Love seeing RC! Such a great attitude.
Those breaks you pull after a drop scare the crap outta me. Every time I'm freaking out "omg he's going to fall, " but you magically stop the bike on a dime. Freaking magic man here
Rode, (Hiked) Horsethief’s Bench Today!.. Yikes!.. Could barely walk it!.. Nice work Bryan!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks about lunch while riding.
Can’t wait to get my T Shirt!
Amazing video, as always Bryan. You’re the man!
Oh man. Came for RC...Stayed for the Horsethief Bench! Amazing!
You did WHAT for RC?! 😆
Yesssssssss.. I have the original shirt in Red, and it's pretty tattered. I was bummed that you didn't restock them and now that it's back I will buy 2. Thanks Brian!!
Thats some crazy riding man. So cool to see you just full send anything in your way
High marks for bravery again Brian. Keep the vids coming.
You guys are insane and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Awesome riding there!
Awesome! Horsethief is my favorite! But I walk all those gnarly spots! 👊🤘
It was cool meeting you at 18Rds. I was the guy in the parking lot with the RIPMO. I was also riding Kokopelli trails the following day when you filmed this. Only difference is I didn't make the full descent down Horsethief. I alway chicken out at that last section. Mad props to you for making it look easy
I just purchased the T shirt because I truly enjoy your channel and seeing the different trails out there.
Great videos - so glad to find your channel ðŸ‘ðŸ¼ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
pure outdoor gold
Awesome job on that feature, Brian!
You are an awesome rider - if not a little bit crazy. I like your videos. Thank you for sharing them.
i havent seen one of your videos in a long long while and I can see youve gotten much better
Hey Brian! Nice work giving back! I’m going to check out your component brand and definitely put something on my bike!
Tanks for the opertunity to order what I never thought I would see in real life.
That looked fun. Looking forward to hitting cool spots and doing the van thing myself soon!
Impressive! Done that ride numerous times…never really tried the drop in. The first time I rode it, I don’t think it was really possible, but since then it has been reworked but is still no joke!
Nice one Brian ðŸ‘
Lol. I walked it. It’s super gnarly. Good for you
Videos of that are skeery enough. Nicely done!
Nice! I rode Horsethief a few years ago and did the entry right up until that big drop and then walked the last 30%. Cleaned the rest of that trail and it was an absolute blast :).
Bought a shirt! Good luck Bud!
My hands sweat watching you ride. Love That trail! Camped off the Mack exit many times and rode all around “Fruitieâ€.
I remember helping build that. Beautiful area. Hope your van is easily fixed. My husband rode it until he was 62.
love the Kokopelli trails. Used to live in Fruita and got to hit them all the time. 18rd is awesome too!
Favorite trail ever. I go there every year. 18 Road and the Kokopelli trails are in my favorites.
BTW, I always walk that section. Don’t want to go to the the Fruita ER. AGAIN. Haha
And…another great video! Inspiring!
I just bought one of your shirts hope u get the van up and running. Love your videos
I guess I have been with you since the start...KUDOS, Brian.
Bought a shirt cause I understand that struggle when something breaks on your truck!!!!! Good luck
these last videos are a dream for me to bike!
i get tired just watching this. but i cant stop watching haha
T-shirts purchased from the UK. Good luck with the Van!
Great job! I'd never attempt such things.
Love this trail, but I was waiting for your video of climbing out of there @BKXC Brian! :)
12:51 looks quite scary imo, more so than much of the rest. I could just imagine getting a pedal strike on the right pedal.
I'm watching your all videos ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
I regret not riding this trail while I was there for a week last year. I was able to persaude my partner to do zippity loop as an alternative to horsetheif, but overall the riding in that area is so fun and memorable.
I still remember the video where Seth threw his bike here, lol
I really like your videos, hello from Argentina 🇦🇷🙋ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
And just imagine Jeff lenosky climbed this in one go! Insane!
@@kentwood2914 it can be....why you hating?
@@kentwood2914 which direction was he going?
Wang dang, down that rocky Trail. 💯🎸🤘
1:03 : best ad ever
That section of Horse thief is full on. Great trail.
wow, you're amazing!!!
You are the BEST ! ! ! !
hey Joseph here I am 13 and live in Montrose about an hour or so away from there and I am getting in to jumping on bikes and want to get out on some trails soon. love the content keep it up.
I went to college at university of Denver and one girl I met was from aspen and she had never skid. I was always mind blown 🤯
Amazing places. Greetings from Italy
great ride!
My home trails! Grew up riding them on my BMX bike with my neighbor lol. Now riding that stuff, it blows me away we did that with no helmets on cheap BMX bikes lol. Good job making it down! Munchies is the spot man!
Massive props, that section is so much sketchier in real life than it looks on youtube and it looked pretty rough. I wish I could say I did it, but like most mortals I walked it.
so skilled!
Went there a couple years ago. Definitely walked this section. Absolutely blown away that you cleared that shit. Wowzers.
fr brian’s a beast
Nice riding. Precise positioning in the cockpit keeps the OTB in check and the nerves at bay. Picked up a shirt brother, hope it helps.
Gawd that is some choppy trail. Nice job guys!!! Could not imagine trying it without locals shepherding. It looked like some air opportunities. Also noticed the high-end rider genius / guide kept wheels grounded, good call. Price of botching up a landing along there is way too high. Back a bit there was a steel stake sticking up. PLEASE cut that sucker off! I really don't want anyone getting on that. Will be looking at your shirts, sick of black or grey of course.
Damn dude your tech game is on point!
Nice ride
Snagged a t-shirt, hope it helps man! These trails look absolutely insane, so much different than what i ride here in Alabama.
10:25 damn dude 🤜🤛
Thx for the possibility to order the t-skirt of the Centuri. ;)
Awesome Brain 🤩🤘🔥
Holy crap that was butt puckering even just to watch! Ride safe out there and have fun guys!
Got one! To the van 🚠ðŸ»
Best video ever
Shirt ordered :)
That entrance is so much more heinous in real life. Way to go!
That drop in is still the gnarliest trail section I've ever seen in RL, I'm happy to hike a bike it. I've seen people OTB on it every time I go there.
ride a Rip -- love your channel -- own a Ram ProMaster --Bought a shirt -- ;-))) -- I do worry about my Ram -- extended Warranty for ever
FFantastic terrain !!!!
The engine is very common and doesn't cost $13000. Good luck and killer ride.
nice form pumping it down Horsethief
*easy to use and very well*
Enjoyed that one ðŸ™ðŸ¼
I would enjoy this ride more. This land is beautiful
Awesome content bud!!! U should check out Carvins Cove trails in Roanoke Va, there are 5 double black diamond trails & 7 single black diamond trails & many more blues & greens also, super fun place to ride
Those grips are RAD!
