  • Spirogyra algal growth in salt affected rice fields is a common problem which interferes with soil aeration, sunlight movement into soil, soil microbial activity and hiders the normal growth and tillering process in rice crop. Farmers reduce water level onto ground level to minimize its growth and ill effects. This practice is insufficient. In this video we have advised the farmers to apply one liter of Track (a copper based product of NFC Faisalabad) or Hiton @ 250 ml/acre as shaker or spray application) to deteriorate this algal growth. Copper sulphate may also be flooded @ 2 kg/ acre. How to manage Jala (Spirogyra algae) in Rice | Rice Field Algae | Rice manage Jala
