2.5 bottom speed 3 . 2.5 speed6. 2.5 with speed head. How to swap a 2.5 bottom into mazdaspeed. Mazdaspeed 2.5. Turbo 2.5.
I did the exact same swap! Torque curves way stronger! Also according to my Access port dynamometer it says I’ve also gained 35 wheel horse over the previous run with the 2.3. I’m running stock internals as well on around 450 wheel. I’ve got nearly 3000 miles on this daily and I honestly will never buy another 23 again unless it’s for a cylinder head

Thank you very much for this video! It addressed all the questions I had. I'm currently prepping the 2.5 bottom end I purchased on LKQ (2015 Escape).
Glad this video helped. It is also now recommended to take out pistons to clean and regap rings.

I wanted to run this set up on my speed3 but i disnt hear or see ppl doing it if i blow it up ill just run the 2.5 on it the same was good info ....
I am doing this build as well but I got all forged internals stage to Cams New crankshaft New fuel pump internals new clutch but I am about 5k into the 2.5 bottom end but I am really curious on how much horsepower I can really push with a 2.5
Bro upload more vids and updates i called sp63 and asked them if the sell forged internals for the 2.5l platform and i told them about the frankenswap you did and they want to hear more about it
Hopefully with enough people doing the same swap they will start making more parts for this setup.
@@carsandbeatzofficial7545 i found a company that make parts for the 2.5l they have forged rods,pistons,arp head studs and bottom studs,gaskets to help out with high compression. I am gonna swap my mazdaspeed 6 and probably build the motor

Hey bro what did you use the mazdaspeed clutch? Try fab9tunning i spoke with the owner and they have arp head studs forged pistons,rods and a hole lot of stuff.

Cars and Beatz Official -I saw in the oil drain video there's no factory oil feed. Did you just tap the oil filter housing?

Curious why people aren’t adding ring gap, what’s stock ring gap on a 2.5? I plan on doing this but only adding ring gap to the compression rings, should hold more boost
People are gapping the rings now. You should at least do 18/20 on them.
Just bought a 2.5 with less than 54k miles, now doing this swap into my speed6.
Did you notice any performance gains?
I did notice the turbo spooling a bit faster. Car is all stock though.

What size feed and return lines are you using? I just did the same swap and the car smokes blue oil when you rev it. Seems like turbo is getting too much oil, or it’s not draining.

Hi, use stock ECU Mazdaspeed or 2.5L? you have tune or no? stock sturbo and all stock ?
Use stock speed ecu. In some of my cars I do have a tune but not needed if stock ish. I will be uploading some more videos soon

I used one from a 2013. You can use 2009 and up

All of the 2.5 bottom ends used are N/A
What did you search for to find this 2.5l block? Looking to get my speed 6 back on the road cheap so I can stop driving the gas guzzler
There is a company that sells forged internals for this platform and its not exspensive
Kinda late but you can source these blocks from Mazda MZR 2.5 (non-sky) ~2009 to ~2013(Mazda3/5/6/Tribute)
Duratec 2.5(non-hybrid) ~2009-up(Escape/Milan/Fusion/others)

As far as I know molnar makes forged rods for the 2.5. I need to do a bit more research on pistons

Why would you do this? Seems like a downgrade.
How is it a downgrade? I understand it wont hold as much as a disi block but it is way cheaper and smarter than getting a replacement po$ disi engine for running close to stock boost. 2.5s spool faster so I really like the way it pulls. 2k vs. A 500$ replacement is a no brainer. There is no replacement for displacement.
@@carsandbeatzofficial7545 I guess it makes sense for a stock replacement. Does it even have vvt?
No forged steel crank on the 2.5 and the K04 turbo will become more of a restriction on a 2.5. Personally I'd stick with the 2.3. Ring land issues are a result of LSPI and should be worse on the 2.5 as the 2.3 has the hypereutectic cast pistons vs the standard cast pistons of the 2.5.
