2:26 IQ Light actually means that it has Matrix LED headlights which uses the camera on the windshield to blank out parts of the highbeams to not blind other drivers. Quite a nice feature usually only found on luxury vehicles. The only other cars I know below 3m that also have it are the Geely Okavango U+ and Ranger/Everest 4x4.
Caco using memes from 2010 just completes his transition to pa-cool na tito 😂
Great review 👍🏻. Hubcaps on alloy wheels are mainly used in ev vehicles to improve mileage. Matrix headlights are great when they actually work as intended. The clear pano roof may need uv tint to both lessen the heat and light that comes thru on sunny days. I am not fond of chinese made german cars, but I may try a test drive to see how it fares with others
The interesting bit is that Peugeot has a vastly better brand perception in the Philippines compared to Volkswagen. They did it by only offering global models, sourcing them only from Groupe PSA plants (Not at those Changan-PSA plants in China), and not reaching down to the pangmasa segment.
No more Peugeot for my family after what we experienced with their aftersales service. Crap crap crap!!!
@@docallen2796what happened? Thinking of getting the 2008
Very entertaining and informative!
*Cars: having sun roofs*
Me living in Baguio: I see this as an absolute win
Try driving in Gensan with sunroof 😂
We just purchased a used Tiguan here in NC, and looking for same model there in PH and it lead me to this.
Hi! I hope you can review the volkswagen santana cross. Thanks!
Does the rear seat can be recline?
This seems like an interesting and fun car but that price is such a miss. At Php 1.8M you could get a hybrid, or top of the line subcompact crossovers/MPVs, or even base model PPV-SUVs. VW priced this as if it’s not a SAIC model.
Hello! May I know what other crossovers are much better compared than this po, especially for hybrid and its price point? I'll really appreciate your input po since I'm also looking for a new car.
sir pwd po ba comparo Tharu vs Tucson?
Ei guys, just wondering. May review naba si Caco ng nissan xtrail?
sir caco try baguio-aritao road using hybrid
looks like a rebadged skoda karoq considering it's vw group.
** just checked. it IS a rebadged Skoda Karoq.**
what they really should bring is a rebadged Kamiq or Scala.
Beautiful car.
Capacitive controls have been a major flop in the US and VW is already moving back away from them back to buttons due to major customer backlash.
That engine sits so low! That totally robs it out of some added functionality of wading through some moderate Metro Manila floods. You might have the false sense of security of having a higher crossover when in fact this probably has the same wading threshold of an average Japanese sedan.
the car of the people
Jack to Caco: More like Sub-Compact 😆😆😆😆
1st time I saw this was in Hong Kong.
Only a diehard VW fan will buy that.
Tharu go!!!!
❤ 💯
Maganda lang yang mga kotse na yan pag bago. After 8 years good as junk na since you can’t get parts for it anymore.
I wonder how this fares against Peugeot 3008
coolray in different car body
cash discount is key 😊
Kind of a copy in geely okavango in the headlights
emblem light gives you another buck when bumped 😢😢
Second Comment!
Volkswagen Badjao next 😁
Tharu are Taos that lives in India and Nepal.
It's hard to gauge interior space with your reviews because the dude is small. If possible, get a guy at least 5'8 to give the viewers a better idea of the interior space. Please.
A longer T-Cross
Oh, Caco. Don’t fall into the pressures of selling a car even when you know it’s not deserving of too much praises, especially given the price point Ayala is selling this Chinese car at. We can hear the road noise all too well while you were singing praises of its NVH 😂 Glove boxes, etc. Don’t rattle even with the cheaper cars when the car is still young. And you know that. Feeling safe? Did any car feel that you drove recently made you feel unsafe? And be responsible. You should’ve called out that the 1.5L engine is the cheapest to import with just 5% tax, but the Ayalas still decided to price it this way? So if you’re to do a comparo of this to the rest of the sub compact, how will it fare well?
I've test driven the Tharu and it's more refined than most Chinese crossovers. The engine and transmission combo, despite being the usual 1.5 turbo paired to a DCT, delivers power better than the rest. VW has been using this combo for years in most of their volume cars globally and so they have constantly been improving it. They're even shared with several Audi models like the Q3 and A4. People are so quick to judge this car without even seeing it in person. Yes, it's still overpriced but it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.
@cyng2430 who said that it's bad? 😂 next time, read first.
Great comment! At this price point i would expect much more from a chinese car.
I'm actually driving the SEL version now, and I can tell u from experience that actual NVH is way better than many chinese and Japanese cars. Suspension is basically very German. Firm and comfortable. Driving dynamic is quite good, if not agile!
That is not a german car. That is a chinese car sold by a german brand.
😅
sorry ... 1.9M on a 1.5L on a SUV .... put 3 people that weighs about 80 kilos even maybe 1 190lbs guy with the other 80kilo's and tell me if the THARU is underpowered like the EVEREST lower variant. Even the FORD sales person told me the Everest is under power which I was right... but yeah sorry .. 1.9M on a 1.5 and just people and luggage going to Tagaytay or Baguio what not !! nah .... I'll consider the SUBARU AWD and spend 1.9M due to the specifications of power train vs under power. Looks won't help you and fancy navigation won't help going up hill with heavy people and luggage. Just saying
I don't expect anything that makes this New VW THARU 1.8M Crossover better than Ford Territory Titanium X or any Chinese SUV. VW Ayala's distributor is Losing their mind again same as Chevy Distributor TCCi Trax 1.9M price Tag. Waste of investment.
Tharu Go, only Titos will know
"More like a sub-compact" 😂😂😂
Captain America 😂
2M paysos. 😁
T-Roc in EU, Tharu made in China!
matchy matchy water bottle 😅
Sub-compact adult 😂😂😂😂
made in china
Is it a good car?
Whats ur problem
Never heard of “Globalization” before?
Look like a Changan cs35 but in a cheap way
as the way Caco reviewed the Tharu it seems its very well made and almost ticks all the boxes! If i have the money, I already bought the Tharu SEL 🫡
At that price point, i'd rather have the Peugeot 3008 rather than this over priced chinese made vehicle.
