Just a quick one today - my gift to you all. Some delicious Kai solo warm up - I can't say enough about this mans ability and his prowess behind the kit.
Thank you all for the continued support and kindness - it really does mean so very much to me.

Awesome reaction/analysis to an awesome warmup Colin. It was great that you could get our attention to him shifting his left foot from the kick to the hat and back. Kai is an amazing drummer and it has taken some time for me to appreciate him. Jukka Nevalainen, the previous drummer of Nightwish, is still my all time favourite drummer (after Neil Peart) as he drummed with passion, power and flamboyance. I look forward to one of your videos with Jukka, perhaps Storytime at Wacken 2013. Kai mentioned that Storytime was the hardest for him to takeover. Keep em comin! Thx
It was the hardest, because that middle section rhythm goes over 8? bars before repeating, and then it changes. It's not really hard for Kai to play, but apparently he had difficulties to memorize it (which seems really odd for me, since he is technically better drummer, and has played covers from bands like Meshuggah). Sometimes I feel that these "new" guys really should watch those old live DVD's and learn from them. It's much harder to pick that Storytime section from album than from that Wacken performance.
And Jukka is my all time favorite drummer also. I miss him so much 😢

Kai is a fantastic drummer, very precise. It would be nice to see you react to/analyze Eloy Casagrande from Sepultura, he won best metal drummer of 2021 at Modern Drummer and in my opinion is the best drummer today.

@@DRUMNERD I know very well where the original is and many more Kai Hahto drum cams, your answer was very defensive instead of learning anything from it.
@@birrextio6544 What, it wasn't about defensiveness at all- it was a genuine statement. Though if you're to give me something to learn from - where would you suggest I put the square with me (that would not obstruct any part of the drum kit)
