For anyone going in for a knee MRI, and is claustrophobic (like I am) here are some tips that helped me!
    1. You will not be all the way inside the MRI machine, your chest & up will be sticking out. (So you’re going feet first)
    2. If you can’t keep your eyes closed, focus on a spot on the ceiling.
    3. DO NOT LOOK INTO THE TUBE. & Control your breathing so you don’t freak out. Breathe in and count to 4 slowly, exhale and count to 5 slowly.
4.Keep telling yourself that if you need out, you have the option to press the grey ball but you will not. It’s mind over matter.
Hope this helps ya’ll! Ya’ll got this!

Also none of the videos i watched, mentioned the fact that the machine uses incredibly powerful magnetic forces to take the picture. If you have any metallic implants you're not gonna want to participate in this!!!

I wish someone would just make a full video of the knee mri. I just had one. I was relieved to be told that my chest and head would be outside the machine but was also surprised when my metal belt started vibrating violently. I had to shout out to the technician to stop the machine. Going in I had expected to undress and be in a hospital gown but she told me noAlso - nobody told me that the machine was going to be so loud. IN FACT it was practically deafening with all the racket it made.

I had an mri on my knee today and failed to finish it...I can't find any place where it talks about what my experience was like. My knee is injured and I'm unable to straighten my knee, I told the tech this and he placed heavy weights on my knees to force my knee straight (which hurt) and then tied my ankles together with rubber bands. I'm not usually claustrophobic but I found this unsettling....I was in a great deal of pain and survived for about 20 minutes before I knew if I went on I was going to throw up. He tried to convince me to continue but I couldn't and he chided me that I would just end up coming back. I was sad that I failed but I had NO idea that this procedure included forcing my leg straight or tying my ankles together. When I first got out I couldn't unlock my leg and I've been in pain since returning home. I am petrified that I may have to do this again. This video looks like a test I could have handled...I got no headphones, no music....just the tech interrupted once to tell me to not move my leg. (At one point my legs began to tremble uncontrollably and I had no way to prevent this, it was like shivering...I had no control). I hope this was a bad experience and if I try again I won't fail. :(
