One thing I rarely see discussed, but is very important, is interior space. Bosch dishwashers are noticeably smaller inside than their counterparts. I originally wanted a Bosch but went with a Kitchenaid due to larger capacity. Bosch also have very cheap, flimsy racks, even on the 800 series. They are good units, yes, but I think the competition has major advantages.
Love the way your videos go into great detail about all the features. Since I use glass or ceramic cookware and plates, the 300 series is probably best.
I bought a Bosch and while its quiet and cleans well, there are several tines that are rusting and breaking and it doesn't layout well for getting lots of dishes in it. I'm not certain I'll buy another Bosch. Is it expensive/worth it to replace the racks that have the rusted tines? Or should I just buy a new d/w? SHX4AT55UC/21 is the model and it says 49 DBA for quiet.
I don't see how Bosch is that much better than other dishwashers. I have an 800 series. The top silverware rack is not a great feature. Loading silverware here is not fun. We have had frequent errors that leave water on the bottom of the unit. As with seemingly all new appliances these days the manufacturer's conception of the controls is problematic to say the least. The lack of a drain button to deal with the previously mentioned problem stands out but it is the mystery of how to reset the machine so one can pick a different wash cycle that has outraged me. Note that the "3 sec reset" labeled above the start button at the far right does not, in fact, reset anything. I own one of these and right now I still don't know how to reset it. This product like so many requires special knowledge that can't be deduced from the controls set-up to operate important functions.
@@davidjgill4902 I've been noticing a lot of issues with the Bosch 800. I have a "mid-tier" LG and it's crapped out multiple times within the 2.5 years we've owned it. I can see that it's going to need some new door jamb gaskets, but not sure what else. Possibly some spray arm replacements, but it'd be nice to have a dishwasher that didn't eat it every few months after the warranty is expired. Was thinking of going with the 800, but after seeing so many issues with it, I've been seeing people really enjoying their 300 and 500 series with fewer issues other than "nOw I HavE to UsE Jet-DRy!" We also have a 100 (I believe) in the office of my work place and that thing is still going strong. I'm just not sure if it's "Classic Bosch" or Bosch is just that reliable. I'm thinking the 500 may be okay since it's hopefully engineered simpler than the 800 and still focused on washing and evacuating water. I heard the 800 mounting plates aren't very good, quickly wearing out and causing the machine to become unbalanced which may be the cause of the majority of the performance issues. I have butcher block countertops so I'm okay with 2 or 3 mounting screws under the countertop to keep the unit in place. This may be an issue when we switch to stone in the upcoming year.
Can you recommend an ADA dishwasher? Pot scrub is necessary. I would love sanitize, adjustable rack, stainless steel tub, and third rack. Quiet is good. Hard food disposal would be nice but not essential.
My Bosch never seems to drain all the way. I have had the techs to the house three times. They say that's normal. But the standing water tends to get funky. Any tips on how to make this better?
I've read something somewhere on a reddit post when researching for a dishwasher, I copied it an kept it in my notes : "Once installed make sure you have a high loop installed and not installed on lowest point in the drain line. It will back feed water or drainage into dishwasher." Sound like it might be your problem
It looks like a fabulous upgrade for Bosch, they desperately needed to update that lower spray arm. Now if they can just replace that top sprinkler head with an actual full sized wash arm they’d be pretty unbeatable!
Bosch has 0 yes Zero and I Do mean zero customer service. I purchased a new panel ready dishwasher and the kit to attach it to the panel was missing. I spent 3 hours on the phone with 0 assistance. I emailed them and I got an auto response right away and 2-3 weeks ago and crickets since. Not one person has called me back or emailed. Just pass on Bosch.
Bosch dishwashers are a piece of garbage they do not clean the dishes properly and they sure as hell don’t dry the dishes! I regret the day I ever bought mine, and frankly, if I could throw it in the garbage I would
My bosch dishwasher died last week( december 2023). 23 years of good working. Delivery for a New bosch dishwasher is scheduled on december 23rd!

This was the first thing I noticed. I went from a GE Profile circa 2004, which was much sturdier
Man, wish I saw this vid before I bought the 800; just would have been nice to be well informed before the purchase!
You don't like your 800?
just bought a series 800 Bosch to replace our old Bosch ( lasted 15 years ). hope I made the correct choice. - good video . ~ JDS/CT
Ummm...dont watch our latest video.
I bought series 8 Bosch dishwasher 2 days ago. What a stunning machine. Truly outstanding.
I have one and it is super quiet.

Is the 6 series freestanding any good ?
500/800....didnt know there was a 600

which dishwasher do you have?
@@YaleAppliance1 It's an 800 series model, although it doesn't say that anywhere on the unit. It does say SilencePlus 48 dBA
If your Bosch is at 48 dba then you do /not/ have an 800 series model. @@davidjgill4902

Bosch/Miele are the best
I prefer Gaggenau....high end Bosch;)
Best panel install on the Gaggenau.
They are all built from the same parts. They only might be more luxury :) more options etc

You mentioned that Bosch needs to update its wash system but didnt Bosch just release a new washing system with the PowerControl spray arm?
Yes...after I published this video

Same experience as the others unfortunately

Which model do you have. Bought mine 2 days ago and it’s near perfect. A series 8 Bosch. Hot bone dry dishes and washing is perfect.
