BEST STREET FOOD IN JERUSALEM // ISRAEL-PALESTINE TRAVEL VLOG

- Street food in Jerusalem in delicious! We started the day off with empty stomachs and slowly filled them up as we tried as many street foods as we could in Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda Market before the market closed for Shabbat. We both agree that the most delicious food we tried was Sufganiyot (Israeli doughnut), while the most entertaining food was Malawach. We loved walking around the market and trying all the foods that caught our eye!
We have included the price of each food item in the video to give you an idea of the cost of food in Israel. Spoiler alert - it is not cheap! Israel is a very expensive place to travel to which is something you will want to keep in mind if you are planning to visit. We are believers in learning about a place through the cuisine, so we were happy to spend a little more than we normally would to get a better feel for the huge variety of food that can be found in Jerusalem. If you are the same, watch this video in full to see where to eat in Jerusalem, what to eat in Jerusalem, and what people in Israel eat! We feel confident we found some of the best street food in Jerusalem and hope you enjoy coming along with us as we give it a try!

Ohhh man - I'm so jealous ...and salivating
Love the food discovery adventures you guys go on, and how open minded you are when seeking out local cuisine. Baklava comes in many forms and that style is one of my favorites. And it would be great to see a vlog of the top food experiences you both had from the entire time you traveled.
Oh man a video all about our favourite foods from around the world would be a great idea! Tomorrow's video is about the best food we tried in Peru so hopefully you enjoy that one too 😊
@@nicoleandmico I've been going back and binge watching from the beginning to follow the full journey and it all continues to be well curated content I've thoroughly enjoyed watching, so I'm sure Peru will be fantastic as well. Safe travels and best wishes!

Israel is a antisemitic zionistic Appartheid state and oppress nonjews, Christians, muslims, Samaritans, Palestinians, Black's, Africans and other. Nonjews are human second hand without rights. Every day the appartheid broke human rights.
Also Israel kills children, civilians and stole their land.
So why you love terrorists like the appartheid Israeli state?

One of our closest friends we've met here is from Israel. Thanks for the food tour we can't wait to visit ourselves.
It's such an interesting place with so much history! We were overloaded with info and wished we had more time there. I guess we'll just have to come back again 😋
Amazing✌️🤗👍💟🇵🇰
Thanks! Such delicious food!
i love your vids.
Thank you! 😊
I've been there 2002 ,I like that place Jerusalem
If you are in Jerusalem: Go to Mahane Yehuda and then go to Aricha Sabich to eat Sabich. Simply amazing. Miss it so much. Greets from Germany
Thanks for the tip! I just googled Sabich food in Jerusalem and it looks amazing. It's definitely on our list now!
@@nicoleandmico you will love it
Another vote for Aricha Sabich, it's the best!
East Jerusalem is one if the most diverse cities in Palestine, and their cuisine is quite hearty, loved the volg
A:it`s not in the "east" B: Palestine is a roman name now it`s called Israel like before the Romans came
The food looks so good! I want to go in 2025!
❤️❤️❤️
I'm getting the bite card so this could help me pick what to taste. Thank you
I'm going to Israel this November 2023! I can't wait. I'm on a group tour, but I may have to come a day earlier just to check out the market and the local cuisine. :) Is tipping customary there? CAD7.30 falafel sandwich is reasonable.

Hello good morning. Greeting from East Borneo, Indonesia
Hello! It is great to hear from someone in Indonesia, thank you for joining us on our channel!

I’m half Israeli and have travelled there quite a bit. Thank you for taking us on this food journey In Jerusalem. I love how u liked the falafel as I love it too and it makes me happy to see other people like the food that I eat. 1/2
Definitely the next time u travel there you should go to tel aviv it’s not as holy as Jerusalem so you will see that on Saturday most shops are still open. I hope u had fun travelling there and u can visit again soon 🥰
Wow nice
Thanks for watching!
Yes !? I like food
I just ordered in Falafel and Shawarma because of this 🤤

It's far from Israel but it's nice to know Canada has some options. I think we would pay the extra little bit if it means getting a good shawarma 😋
💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you for watching 😊
@@nicoleandmico 💕💕👍👍👍
Amazing, very positive vibes :)
I hope you won't let some of the more hateful comments get to you. To clear some things up - Most of the food is indeed not "Israeli" nor "Jewish". It's Middle Eastern food that's popular in Israel because, well, Israel *is* in the Middle East. Another reason is because about half of Israel's Jewish population is Mizrahi Jews (A.K.A Jews from Arab countries such as Yemen, Morocco, Persia, etc), and they brought those countries' cuisine with them to Israel. Hope this helps. Have fun wherever you go!

Do tourists need to show vaccine cards upon entering Israel? We will travel on October.
Israeli is very creative😃👌
They make excellent food too! 😋
I love Palestine. Such great history in Jerusalem ❤ - I visited it once when I was younger, in the 90s, such a grand place, but honestly, I’ve heard it’s so much harder now, now that Israel is trying to stake a claim on Jerusalem, where Jerusalem based on the two state solution was suppose to be east and west, Israel trying to occupy all of Jerusalem has I have heard, made it more difficult to travel and visit Jerusalem sadly 😞
Yes it's so sad to hear what's going on there ☹ We hope the situation gets better soon.
Palestine does not exist, a racist invention against another religion
I can eat five of that donut 🤤
Hahaha I think we could have too!
The food we had was not good 😢. My husband and I just got home from a two week tour in Israel. I don’t know if it’s because we were in a group tour but the food we had was not good.
They basically fed us the same thing everyday, we had beef, lamb or chicken shawarma on pita bread.
The hummus from a restaurant in Bethlehem was really really good and it was my favorite from what I had on the entire trip.
I really had a hard time because the food was so bad I just don’t understand how it’s ok to feed us the same thing everyday. I understand it’s hard with a group of 25 people but other than Shawarma I didn’t see any other fast food option.
You guys should have went to Palestine, the arabic food is magical.
We were able to visit Palestine but only for one day. We absolutely want to go back one day. All we tried in terms of food was a falafel but it was hands down the best falafel we have ever had 🤤 We had the chance to try amazing Palestinian/Jordanian food when we were in Jordan too and it still ranks as some of the best we've ever eaten!
@@nicoleandmico Nice, however while Palestinian and Jordan has great food, the Lebanese is next level, some of the best food I've ever tasted.
Hi! I am traveling to Israel in about a month. Do you recommend getting currency exchanged or were you able to use your card in most places? Love these videos!
We were able to use our credit card fairly easily in most places we went. We did need cash for street vendors but it was also easy to get that from an ATM. We recommend carrying a little bit of cash (whether through currency exchange or atm's) and having a credit card (preferably one without exchange fees). We really hope you have a great time in Israel 😁👌
Thanks for this video, it’s very helpful, how much would you say you need to take in cash? I’ll be traveling next month but I am unsure of how much I should take in cash. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! We were able to pay for most things using credit card, the biggest exceptions were taxis and the train. Israel is VERY expensive but they have lots of ATMs around if you run out if cash.
@@nicoleandmico great this has helped me a lot! Thanks! Have a great day.
@@nicoleandmico
Hi,u can use your credit cards on trains and busses
Yes we did that for some of the trains and trams. We didn't take a bus but the country was so modern that I'm sure they take credit card too lol

Hey I'm unvaccinated coming from America what should I expect when boarding a flight to come in? PCR or antigen? And is the city expensive? Thanks
Hey, we really aren't sure what you will need in order to board the flight. We were there back in November and the regulations are always changing. Best to check out IATA or the Israeli government's website about entry requirements. And yes, the city is very expensive! One of the most expensive in the world from what we read (and it felt like it!)

You completely missed the Jewish orthodox food.
We could have spent days eating our way around Jerusalem! If our stomachs could have held more we would have loved to try some more dishes
Diliciues ok
It's quite insulting to call it "ISRAEL-PALESTINE" when everything shown in the video is from Mahane Yehuda market (an Israeli market), from Israeli sellers (jews and arabs alike) and in the territory of Israel. If the video had also included things from the West Bank, it would have makes sense. Currently it doesn't.
The entirety of Jerusalem is contested between Israel and Palestine so we include both in the name to acknowledge it. Regardless the food we had in Jerusalem was amazing.

Do you know why they eat those donuts on Hanukkah? They eat latkes and donuts because they are cooked in oil. Because of the miracle of the oil in the mennorah.

I love the Palestinian people! One day I want to visit Jerusalem/Palestine. Palestinian food is amazing: humus, falafel, the kababs, baba ghnaughs, makloba, Mesghan, and of course falafel, all Palestinian ethnic food. God bless Palestine. As a Christian one day I want to visit Bethlehem and all its beautiful churches. Viva Palestine!!!
We hope you do! We would love to go back to Palestine!
Yes the name Palestine was created after the jews were kicked out and the name was created to mock the jews. Also the term "Palestinian"wasn't used until 1968
If you research you'll see there was a Palestinian flag that had a star of David, also the al aksa mockery has stars of David on it. Please educate yourself

What
You’re crazy
And the Jews call it Israeli food, its mostly all Arabic Persian food,Jews don't gave a cuisine apart from a few things
Thanks for watching!
Jews have lived in Arab lands for thousands of years and a lot of the food that they brought over to Israel. ,after getting kicked out of those lands, were foods that the Jewish communities modified from Arab culture. If you research, you will be surprised to find that a lot of Arab dishes have Jewish origins in their Arab host countries....
The food is Middle Eastern, Jews lived in Arab countries and were also in numbers of hundreds of thousands, most of them worked well and were considered helpful helpers in local governments because of loyalty and honesty and this contributed to the existence of the Jewish communities there. There is also traditional Jewish food which is more home food than street food and there is more updated food. Today Israel is full of excellent restaurants in all sectors
