  • In this video you will see how to make JIG-FLY or CHEB-FLY from scratch and then how to catch PIKE using it on a spinning setup. Seems those Pike can't resist to the action of the FLY. Try it out!

    Another great video Andrew. I've been a flyfisher for 40+ years and would confirm that it doesn't matter how a fly is tied as long as it catches fish. I used to fly fish firboike in the winter without much success and never thought to use a spinning rod and cheb rig. I'm learning coarse fishing tips from you every time I watch your videos. Keep up the great work.👍😊 Si.

    Great video. I have never seen anyone tie a pike fly without a vice before. I have been tying flies and jig flies for a few years now and your video made me realise that I quite often over complicate things?

      Thanks.
      It was my first fly. After I tied a couple more big flies I don't think I will buy a vice. Unless I will decide to give small flies a go.

    Hi, I've use fluro for traces before, but always found it hard on the knot. Particularly the size of the knot when tying line to line. For both the jig and line knot, which ones do you suggest. I don't want to use crimps, especially after loosing my very first decent sized pike (by my more modest standards) yesterday when the crimps broke on my Daiwa pretied titanium trace. Big thanks for all the work you put into you videos.

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  Před 3 lety +1

      I use this one mostly for attaching metal elements to thick FC czcams.com/video/-0D9CQwwm5s/video.html
      Grinner knot is very good for that as well.
      In any case, when working with thick FC, make sure you leave very long tag ends to allow you to pull properly when locking down the knot 👌
