I will forever hold violent soho close to my heart. Thank you so much for being an inspiration to other small bands, and producing better music than the big ones
Me too Close to my heart
Lad
Letts start a fire
It was fun while it lasted.
That is prob why I love this song because it is Aus and sick af, not some American wannabe song..
Nothing captures what it's like to be a young adult in the suburbs of Australia like this. That's what makes this band special for so many.
This song is so Aussie I can smell the mortein and sausages
Snoochie Boochies *snags
Shaun Reynoldson your a snag m8
Shaun Reynoldson i was gonna say that fuck you
+I spent 6 hours trying to figure out my username I upvoted purely due to your name
nothetruth22 Well thats mighty kind of you, good sir, here have a 24k golden desert eagle as gift.
Extremely underrated song.
One of those albums that is as good as when it came out.
This band is as close as it can get to the feeling of the 90’s vibe
This comment is spot on, and I saw Nirvana live in NYC, 1993.
grunge hasnt died
it just moved to Brisbane
@@marosmierka1904 There is the joke that when you go to Brisbane, "wind your clock back an hour...and 10 years."
Took a roadtrip from Texas to Oregon and listened to this song a lot. Nostalgia. This song is perfect in every way. Hungry Ghost is such a good album.
Hungry Ghost is their best album!
tired lion / cinderalla dracular
I just can't get over how good this song is
Yeah. This really is a next level song.
Hope it’s still in your rotation
This band makes me want to rock out so hard and start a band.
what's stopping you?
@@maxgutierrezzzz adult life I guess people all have shit to do, I've never met people that want to do stuff like this as well. Every band I've started feels like it's just me putting in the effort, it's not to say that things are impossible but I feel I'll have to move to one of the cities to find people on my wavelength. I'm mean I'm 29 people my age are settling down and getting mortgages it feels like a pipe dream sometimes.
@@monotoneunknown9555 which city do you live in?
@@monotoneunknown9555 You can still be in a band, most tribute bands you see at your local bar are a bunch of 40 and 50 year old men with families and jobs whose hobby isn't playing with trains or playing golf, their hobby is meeting up once or twice a week to jam and occasionally play a few cover songs at the local pub if they feel confident enough. Being a rock star can be a hobby, just like anything else.
@@dotconnector3889 i live in a village called ingoldisthorpe in the uk
2022 and I keep coming back to this one. It stirs the heart like the first time I heard the guitar drop in with the rhythm each time too
I wanna pop this pill, cause I'm a free man.
Daweed Chi the feeling is great when you can think that about a girl!
This band has some of the best lyrics. Simple but profound.
Does anyone realise this video is 1 take?! fking amazing!! no cuts!!!
its pretty rad too, its simple and effective
Mijoshow Sure is dude, turns out I skate past EXACTLY where this was all filmed hahahaha. Everytime i head to the gym i pass it and it makes me smile.
Mijoshow in one shot they leave the boot open, next shot its closed.
catatafish100 so they closed it, lmao.
+catatafish100
there was someone in the boot, not sure who closed it, but it was definitely a single take.
source: my wife worked on the set.
What an amazing clip. It was all in one take. And there's no concentration on violent soho themselves. It's just showing the lifestyle. Makes me proud to be from brisbane :)
+Wasabi D It goes way beyond that, my friend. Why this makes it my favourite soho track is it illustrates the 5pm Friday fuck off from work straight into party hardy mode, and its right around the fucking corner, yet a universal concept, how good is that!
Wasabi D there’re gold

Brings a tear to the ear!
[Verse 1]
No place to hide
Nowhere to lead us
I wanna take you down
Saramona said
No great reprise
I will abandon
I want to bastardise
This entire state
[Chorus]
Let's start a fire
It's like a big freight train
Let's start a fire
We are defeated
[Verse 2]
The TV lies
It makes me anxious
I want a dictator
Saramona said
Let's free desire
Be unconnected
I wanna pop this pill
'Cause I'm a free man
[Chorus]
Let's start a fire
It's like a big freight train
Let's start a fire
We are defeated
[Bridge]
Let's start a fire
Let's start a fire
Let's start a fire
Let's start a fire
[Chorus]
Let's start a fire
We are defeated
Let's start a fire
We are defeated
[Outro]
As we watch, we lose ourselves
(Let's start a fire)
Define the world before we find it
(We are defeated)
On and on, we lose ourselves
(Let's start a fire)
To miracles, a miracle
(We are defeated)
As we lose ourselves
(Let's start a fire)
As we lose ourselves
(We are defeated)
THAT IS THE BEST FUCKING BEER ON THE PLANET!!!

Brodzzzzz you can get it, try dan murphys or first choice, elsewise the burger joint Grill'd have it when you dine in
PheonixRise666 Yeah I know we can get it here but there's just hardly any around :P
This song just captures the last 30 years, the feelings Saramona expresses of almost a frantic hopeless rebellion.
This might be the greatest thing I have ever seen.
This band sounds like, sounds like , sounds like, who gives a fuck
just enjoy em .
This band sounds like violent soho lol
Jamming to this from Houston, Texas 🤘🏼
Meeeexicoooo!
This smacks of what Australia feels like it's loosing/lost.
Such a good song and clip
Drives straight past my work in this clip
Still amazing in 2019!!! What a great album barely anyone knows about. True hidden gem. Thanks for the music fellas.
Can you explain to me what this song is all about?
This song is like warm rain
Videography is underrated in this one! Mad props to the videographer and the poor cameraguy seemingly sitting on the gear stick.
One word 'Straya'. Who cannot be proud of this place.
just realised they are drinking Stone and Wood Pacific Ale!
Rad

Golden days of Violent Soho
just discovered soho two days ago and I fucking love it, specially their music videos
Man this song is amazing..
The guitar riffs from begging to end of the song is just amazing
OMG. It's a Masterpiece. My soul is floating. Thx a lot.
along with license and rego, all cars in Brisbane are required by law to have a late 80's Broncos jersey clearly visible at all times
this voice. wow.
reminds me alot of Smashing Pumpkins 1979, I LOVE IT!!
Tired Lion did a mash up of the two songs on Like a Version for Triple J! Check it out
+Kayla P (kaypoll) CZcams blocked like a version said it wasn't available for my country
The most replayed part of this song is the start of it lol as it should be ! Btw I just found this masterpiece
Smashing Pumpkins vibe
this band is the only reason im hopefully going to Australia in 2016, all the way from the uk :D
This is criminally underrated
These guys can do no wrong, they were fucking excellent at BDO. Can't wait for Groovin the Moo
Splendour!
in my opinion best act at BDO alongside with flume, violent soho, great band, great crowd!
It was amazing to see these guys at Groovin, by far the best act of the day... and was at 330
I fudging love this song.
Been listening for about two years now, lotsa catching up. Y'all got some fans on the Rez in WA state! 🤟
Father of 3, they don't know how amazing AUSSIE ROCK is.
I like them because they write the words so well. Thanks for the inspiration
Violent soho brought me here to stay!
Love this song greetings from Germany
These guys have so many more good jams! This has a sound that brings me back a ways.
This video so takes me back!
So awesome!!!!
temaaaaaaazo 🔥❤🔥
AWESOME JUST AWESOME,
Such an amazing song, can't stop listening to it. The outro is class.
this song/video combination captures such authenticity, much props.
1 of the best Aussie song and film clips I 've seen and heard ✌
Love this song
I really wish these guys all the luck in the world! They have come so far over the years and just keep ripping out stellar tunes time and time again. Props boys, drink it in while it's golden!
Straight up my favourite film clip. Can't wait to get back to Aus!
1.00 slab of stone and wood beer!!! soooo aus!!!! love it
I WORK ON THAT MOTHERFUCKING STREET, its in the Mansfield industrial estate
And they are Mansfield lads representing the hood. So you've got a 1 degree of separation thing happening. Honorary band member status even?!
You guys are legends, so much soul, keep up the good work, doing what you like without worrying about the main stream!
to this day I love this record so much, and this is a perfect song
It really has this Smashing Pumkins "1979"-vibe in it. ;-)
New favorite band!
i love you guys. good luck and thanks for all the music
Such a Aussie video, love it brings back memories of me and my mates . ❤
Awesome Video! Awesome Band!!
I'm lovin' the Dookie album on the dashboard
it's a pitty people in spain don't know about this band (specially this song). I wish this video had more views bc IT'S AMAZING!
This section of industrial estate they start the video clip in didn't exist about 10 years ago. I'm a local to the area and rode my dirtbike here and the surrounding areas as an older kid/ young teen. It's awesome and surreal to see the same place you spent as a youngin' in a video clip of one of your favourite bands.
THIS BAND SAVE MY GRUNGE LIVE... THANKS THANTHOOUDS
i love that this filmclip was done in the industrial area in Brisbane where everyone (including me) used to go up to to watch people do some skids and street drifting ahahaha haven't been there in like 7 years so this brought back some good memories!
Woooo! Violent Soho ftw
still slaps
This is the sound i was looking for thank u from argentina
Loving the sound, very reminiscent of the 90s!
Simply awesome song
i realise this song will always make me feel young and remind me of my adolescents years.. amazing what music and people can do
Beer bongs go down a treat before a violent soho gig, great work fellas
Hahaha how good how Aussie even getting around in the mighty EF Gli falcon wagon. A great cruising car. The Falcon just eats up the ks and good sound systems they had. Did many road trips in a EF Falcon. And listing to these guys and seeing them at the One night stand in Mildura.
the only band singing with the aussie accent i love....cheers team
Violent soho is fucking awesome loving this song right now...
Keen as to see these dudes as Groovin the Moo!
Great sound !!!
Venham para o Brasil. Por favor, nunca pedi nada!!!!!
So good
Brazil!!!!!
Não, Austrália.
The last 2 minutes is just a heavy trash the room vibe I love it
Wicked clip! We need more gigs like that - outside - to enjoy the QLD weather!
i love that there's a baby (3:20) at a violent soho concert lols
Tru but still love vs
Haha. as a Dad I totally caught that and was like "fuckin' rock on!"
So good. That's all I have to say.
Awesome video and great song! I get chills at the end!
I love this video..
I'm so sad and happy at the same time that I never found anything that sounds like or makes you feel like this album... Only Smashing Pumpkins (Today, and other songs like that) brings about the same feeling, but Hungry Ghost is just on another fucking level.
Not heard this in years
Thanks youtube ❤
Keep up with the good work. Stunning song
This Time of day Reminds me of Mad times with good Mates and Chicks!!!
I love Violent Soho! Please come to Germany I want to see you live so badly...
Unbedingt!!
