Ya and the pics don't do it justice , I was there with tough guys and a few couldn't do it all , woosies . it is way dodgier than it looks , There is spots up there that you can literally walk off the mountain and then after that four foot gap of nothing a crude railing very misleading ,pay attention or you'll die, but I highly recommend as well !

The platforms are strong but on the other side, with the forest trails, where there are dirt trails and slippery algae-covered rocks and mud, one could very easily slip near the edge. The steps are also very steep and sometimes slippery with mildew. You have to have your wits about you for sure. But it was awesome!

haha. I think many of the temples are built in places like Phu Tok as a test of one's will and trust to Buddha. All I know, is was praying on a few occasions when I went!

By the time you were eating that chicken drum stick, my knees had mainly recovered. Thank you, Mark for showing an experience that I would never have been able to gain for myself. I live in Bangkok. I did that hike several years ago. I only made it to Level 5 before my fear of heights told me, 'Enough is enough'. Kudos to you for making it all the way to the top.
to climb those few hundred steps up to level 5... then to walk across those terrifying planks to level 6 ... and might see snakes on the way to level 7... I'm having a heart attack. Thanks for bringing us up there Mark.

I was there in 1991. Stayed 3 days because I caught Dengue Fever right there and was to weak to travel any further. Was absolutely one of the highlights of that trip to Thailand. Still have a big photograph of the stairs going up to level 6 in my hallway. Very Special!! Except for the monks and my girlfriend I did not see anybody in those days.

I was there a few year ago. That's amazing place. I could go to the highest level. I will go there again If I have a long vacation.
