Chris Pine talks to BBC Radio 1's film critic Ali Plumb about returning as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984, talking nonsense in Star Trek and leading the charge as Robert the Bruce in Outlaw King. - Hudba
He was amazing in Wonder Woman. The chemistry he had with Gal was on another level🙌
noniot alexas agreed!!!!
So are they make a wonder women 2?
Areli Montes yes
Yes..so excited
Man o man.... I watch wonder woman for chris
His eyes are so blue.
I love that i have exactly same eyes as him and i am also blond too and my nose its pretty much the same, i am just a bit slimmer, that males me feel confident that i am handsome too😂😂😂
@@albertmarcea3004 blessed you lol, now seriously marry me 😂
Lol 😂
My brother literally asked me that yesterday when we stumbled upon star trek in a canteen.
@@ka1Zhi Another ugly guy... Your dp is proof.. bunch of jealous guys hating on a handsome man... That so typical!!
this interviewer is truly outstanding at his job!!
Does anyone know the interviewer's name?
@@sunshynea5151 Ali Plumb I think! He's always fantastic!
@@joankoh8303 many thanks
@no9scrum Ali Plumb is truly a brilliant expert in his craft!
Yeah normally you get the impression the actors don't want to be there. You see the pained expressions on their faces when they are asked a predictable and obvious question for the 4000th time on the press your. Here he is so well researched and able to surprise Chris and bring him into unexpected happy recollections of filming .... You can see the actor come alive and enjoy the process as a result
Chris did an amazing job at playing Steve Trevor. The lines were great, but how he delivered it and his expression is really great.
in the wonder woman comics, the goddess Aphrodite brought him back to life , and also got a new identity ( now called steve Howard). I highly doubt this will happen but its just a theory :)
Yeah, I think you are right. Also, it would mean those who are making this movie would actually consider we, the audience have brains and think for ourselves, which of course they don't.
This can't be it, because in the universe WW is set all the greek gods except Zeus were murdered by Ares. Zeus then used what was left of his power to create Diana so that she could kill Ares. So it's a nice theory because it means Steve is actually alive albeit different, but impossible unless they do some retconning.
Have we forgotten about his fantastic performance as McFly's band manager in Just My Luck
Somebody said it, YESSSSS!!!!!
That’s how I first discovered him! ❤️
Yaaaaaasssss
Loved that movie!
zen m I HAVEN'T!!! JUST FINISHED WATCHING IT AGAIN FJAJFIANJF
He's so natural in all his movies. I love it when he laughs. He's so genuine. All the characters are so humble for the hero's they are/play.
The one true Supreme of Chris’. From Prince Nicholas Devereaux onward, a true blessing to the world. Chris Pine, we thank you.
His voice is so deeeeep
levanvie have you heard him sing,, there’s a duet somewhere with Barbra Streisand, check it out ....his voice is like velvet🇮🇪😘
I love this guy. He's so genuine. One of those guys you'd want to hang out with because a he's funny and smart and he'd bring In the ladies.
You think he would be a good wingman?
Yeah, he's pretty grounded. I respect that he's never pulled a publicity stunt or caters to meme lovers--that's prob why he's not as popular as the other Chrises
@@Max1990Power and very kind hearted and humble which luck in this industry 💯
Best way to get ladies is with wealth. Flash those 💯 bills. And it brings them crawling
@@drmachinewerke1 unfortunately that's how it is in today society. I'm not that kind of girl. But having a successful guy that would take care of you is one of my priorities. He doesn't have to be rich or famous just needs to be a caring and supporting man. Then I do the same for them. That called love and not a user in fact.
You are above average, Chris ;)
What I could see in the Water scene, he is under average
;)
Darth Bane get a life sadoo 😂😂 yet u watch them so ur just as culpable dumb fuck = hypocrisy 101
@@Tbonyandsteak right, i think that all these gurk never taste and see the real "above average"
@@Tbonyandsteak Jesus, it's not like he had an erection in that scene. And when it comes to non flaccid, he's def not, as you say, "under average".
I love this guy. It would be a dream come true if we got Trek 4 with all of the cast again (except Anton, sigh). Their chemistry is the best out of most movies with a lot of main characters.
With Chris hemsworth coming back! Too bad they budget cut
Rip anton:(
Everyone really liked Chis in Wonder Woman. Glade he returns for the second.
Ive seen him in a few movies but fell in love with his blue eyed boyish looks on Star Trek. He made me interested in Star Trek. Excited to see him in the new Wonder Woman and more movies roles.
Glad he's returned for WW1984
How did it go
@Yemima Hutapea You'll have to watch the film it's pretty epic but the first was probably a bit better in my own opinion. Try watch the trailer!
*Chris* is handsome, funny and talented, he is one of my favorite actors.
How does this interviewer get the stars to open up every time
He's great at adding his own inputs making it feel more like a conversation than an interview, whilst still keeping the focus on who he's interviewing
he's attention to detail is amazing-seen a few of his interviews
This explains a lot about JJ Abrams. It doesn't matter what he is saying, it's how he says it. Also explains his opinion about the audience. They think it's about the pretty lights, not what's actually going on...
exactly what I thought! the audience is intelligent don't insult us
@@alexandragrace8164 LOOOL Just not true is it? We all know the majority of the general audience is stupid and if you don't then you're probably one of the stupid ones
+SDPRZ THAT is hilarious! 😆
I was thinking the same thing!!!! JJ is known around Hollywood to start a movie but can never stick the landing for the third act.
It's so insulting to the audience, and he really should stop telling that story. It doesn't reflect well on him or JJ.
Chris Pine talks and all I hear is Jack Frost.
wait Chris Pine was the voice of Jack Frost? oh my gods! i should've paid attention to the end credits roll.
That movie is a favorite in our household :-)
@@Lady_NightCourt_22 Mine too! It's a shame they released it on November 21, 2012 where it got lost in all the Thanksgiving Awards baity films instead of the first week of December.
Petrichor La Fey 100% agree. Such a shame so few people remember that great film.
I'm hoping to get a hold of all the books that came out prior to the release of "Rise of the Guardians" to get a better sense of each character.
Love this guy's attitude.
This guy deserves an Oscar for his performance in Outlaw King!!! amazing movie👌🏻👍🏻
That was such a good flim.
I dont like really fighting movies, but the out law king is one of the very few that i do.
It was just sooo good.
Come on he's average
manel manel
Compared to who else!? cmon
@@mattkylie6723 jake gylenhal as an example Who was never nominated either

Hmm but awards are generally based upon majority nomination!! obviously based upon opinion!! which by no means dismisses yours.
5:16 falling inlove with her... Dudeeeeeee... Okay i know u cant coz gal is married already but I still ship u tho
He always says that!!!! Which means it's realllll
The only girl he played with and he is talking about that way💙
Of coarse she has to be married. Chris and Gal would of been perfect couples.
OMG, Chris that advice from J.J. Abrams was definitely not the best you've ever had. It might have been the worst! It was a very revealing remark about J.J., though. Look at where that kind of thinking got him on Rise of Skywalker.
I was looking for your comment. JJ makes me very pissed for his condescendence.
Nah... it was good advice for that scene. But it was sold because Chris did it so well.
It really explains how Abrams sees Star Trek, its just action and go-go-go! No real thought or substance about the story. That's why these movies ultimately failed.
It's very good advice for an actor on a big budget sci-fi film where time is money. You can't of course apply that logic to every situation when you're a director. JJ has a habit of patronizing his audience and maybe he is like that to his actors also. He is not an actor's director by any means. But sometimes you just need the actor to say their lines.
@@apseudonym I don't buy that. A director can make time for a conversation about the scene with his lead actor. I can't imagine Chris needed every single one of his lines explained to him. He's being paid a lot of money not just to say the lines, but say them well.
Here's to a great head of hair
I am around Chris' age, and I have no such hair anymore. I have been told, however, that I can pull off bald very well for a white dude.
Thoughtful and intelligent, with those blue eyes. This is why we love you Pine!
I LOVE him as an actor. ..Lord Nicholas in the Princess Diaries 2 and he has done so much since then. It took me awhile but, I really enjoy the Star Trek movies. It will be great fun to see how Steve comes back from the dead in Wonder Woman 2
4:48 "falling in Love with Gal" so many times he said that in this interview (here again 5:11) and many other interviews and not saying falling in love with wonder woman, the character - he actualy says her name, which i never heard him say about any other woman he played with.. and u know it's real but to admit that it's really hard, and I truly realy hope he'll find another wifey material like Gal💙
Yeah, he never said Diana or wonder woman once. I "think" he fell in live with her.
@@TheGreenbutsad and twice only in this interview.. 💔
He admitted he actually has a weakness for her, meaning really really likes her
But she married though. And he haves a girlfirjedddd
@Yemima Hutapea annabelle
Umm so it is supposed to be about the movies that make him.... his first movie was princess diaries 2 and we completely skip that? went over two films and then what seems like his recent
I'm a fan of "Princess Diaries 2" as well, but that film certainly didn't 'make' him. The major roles for him started flowing in after the 2009 "Star Trek" film. He knows it as well, which is why he didn't interrupt the interviewer and say "Excuse me, but 'Princess Diaries 2" was my big break film."
This wasn’t the complete interview. There is another part I believe
Chris Pine is what really makes Wonder Woman tick as a piece of entertainment. His comic timing is absolutely first rate.
Ali Plumb is a really engaging interviewer.
I really hope he does more movies. Chris pine is a good actor plus he is just hilarious.
so we're just not going to mention his stunning voice over work in Rise of the Guardians? (which is one of the best animated movies of all time; it's so underrated.) OR his amazing singing voice in Into the Woods?! (coming from someone whose favorite broadway musical is such & thinks the movie is just okay, but was my favorite part of it.) NOT COOL.
Taylore Walters
Don't forget his duet with Barbara Streisand.
I think it's because the movies might not have done so well. Which sucks because Rise of the Guardians was perfect.
@@setofreakinkaiba8553 I liked that film. Was so nice
I love him with my whole ♥ Since just my luck :') my favorite Chris
This acting is so good considering how this man did not even know what he was saying
The academy award isn't that important....although it's a plus factor as an actor but no it's not that important..as long as they still offer you more movies and still want you in hollywood then that's fine. he is amazing.
He is so adorable
Not suprised and also delighted Steve Trevor is back. They brought him back as the son in Wonder Woman /Lynda Carter series.
One of my favourites scenes in Wonder Woman is when she says what that and he about to answer only to notice that she looking at the watch. Another great comedic scene was the sleeping scene on the boat when he asks her to sleep with him meaning she wanted him to sleep next to him but he says no and she responds by saying "you don't sleep with women" and he replies I do sleep, women. LOL.
We know "sleeping with someone" means sex
Great interview, I'm so in love with this guy since star trek beyond I can't wait for Outlaw King
Me too. Had to catch up with the previous 2 ST and princess dairy to get more looks on him
GREAT editing! Much appreciated 🙂
I love how auto-generated English captions..'for country, for fun Lee' 😂😂 like yeah FOR FUN LEE... that's good translating right there totally in context.
This guy and the guy from Fox DC who dresses similar to him are excellent interviewers! The guests always seem comfortable and eager to engage. Great work!
Kevin McCarthy
Great interview! Thank you.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ GEM of a Man! ❤ me some Chris Pine!
Great Interview but very bad advise from JJ Abrams I must say. Goes against everything acting is about but hey i guess thats Hollywood for you
Depends on the movie and the dialogue. I mean, for a science heavy blockbuster like star trek, the actor doesn't really have to understand every word of the dialogue. He just needs to convey to the audience the emotion of what it means. The same for medical dramas on tv. I wouldn't expect the actor to understand everything they're saying. But as long as I know the stakes of a scene, I'm good. 🤷🏻♀️
Fantastic interview...!!!....Thanks fellas...!!!
Chris is such a great actor!! 👏
Aw Chris you’re a good actor I hope you win an AA one day
Loved how you dragged it out of him at the end! Thought we’re getting another speech, while I was listening to it🤔
I am such a fanboy of Karl Urban, I watch everything he does no matter what others say, and I always looooove him :-)
He's so handsome...
He's my favorite Chris
The actual speech that we know from history is quite moving by itself. I wonder if they kept it in.
And what about JACK FROST?! Iconic.
I was watching clips of the animated movie, Anastasia and checked the comments of people saying that Chris Pine should play Dimitri; if they ever did a live action (not Broadway) movie.
I SO AGREE!!!
Disappointed to hear that Abrams thinks so little of StarTrek fans.
Chris Pine man. A man unlike any other.
Chris Pine is morphing into Jeff Bridges. So chill, man
the interviewer is a beast ...love all of his stuff
Chris pine saying is in love with Gal !!!
Chris pine is the best actor out these days plus his so so hot hot 😉
Chris Pine tied up and on his knees surrounded by women...I like where this is goin 😎

Dude´s classy as hell.
8:52 did he say "I'm certainly matching"? About the time or size lololol
People need to stop complaining about the films the interviewer skips over. The CZcams videos are not the full interview. It’s an edited version. Watch the full extended videos on BBC iPlayer.
He is excellent in Outlaw 👑 very very good
Alton Yelchin 💔 Miss you so bad
I fuck’n LOVE any movie with pine, he is just SOOOO good (altho i love him even more in any startrek 😂)
He is amazing actor
This guy is like the best interviewer
*"It doesn't matter. You just run on and you say it as fast and as urgently and as earnestly as possible and no one's gonna care what you're saying and no one's gonna care because all the audience is gonna know is 'Something's happening! Something's happening!"*
Gee... and people wonder why old time Trek fans have no use for "New Trek."
I love blue eyes,like his.
i need to know how to watch this whole thing from outside of the uk ahhh
Netflix.
I’m sad there won’t be another Star Trek with him, but watching him talk about it makes me feel like he didn’t enjoy it much in the first place. I mean that example with J.J. telling him he doesn’t have to understand his lines.... if you care at least a bit about your craft, that feels shit. Like a client expecting the finest cake but giving you old, cheap ingredients 😒
there won't be another Star Trek with him?? Oh no 😣 but he and the rest of the cast are what revived and expanded the Trek fanbase. "Into The Darkness" was my fave of all 3 ST movies.... And the ending is unresolved because Khan is still alive, in cryochamber...
the way he curses...damn
Yes it is juvenile and degrading.
Can't believe he won't be in another star trek!
I hate the fact that JJ told him it doesnt matter. It's really disrespectful to film fans who pay attention to details and to actors who want to cater to that audience. It shows a lot of condescendence to movie goers in general. As an actress, I'd be pissed.
His voice though
I hope to see Pine in more Trek
Other great movies: the princess diaries 2, Rise of the Guardians, and Into the spiderverse
Carl Urban rules
I loveeeeeee you Chris pine!!!!
You do not have a small butt sir
No, you got a SCRAWNY little ass!
Okay, he is legit delightful.
I thought he was as close to Shatner's Kirk as you could get. The only thing is, he should have worn brown contracts, as Shatner has brown eyes.
Him alway super
Wow
I love his jacket. The rest was good, too. ;)
Outlaw king was a fucking brilliant movie
Chris ❤️
I love star trek and i have 12 years old
Chris and Carl should do a superheroe duo ! Right ?
Blue beetle and booster gold?
Its karl with a K not a C
He seems really humble
I like that he says he had no clue what he was talking about cause he clearly does
Everytime when chris pine is in the movie i always want to call him Nicholas 😍😍😍😍
