My friends doing this one and I'm doing the elco 80 1.35 always loved the PT boat's, they don't get near enough recognition for duty of service during ww2 My friends bought just about every damb set out for this thing! Seriously I think it's just the basic blueprint he's left with from the italiri kit! He's mad for detail! So damb cool!
I really wanted to convert this one to an earlier S-38 class. I even got the plans from someone online but then Italeri came out with the actual kit, so I just went ahead with the S-100 version instead. The Lion Roar detail set is very complete. I'm still contemplating picking up mines for the stern area. Thanks for tuning in!
Thanks John! I'm pretty happy with it and I actually touched up some of the white because I went a little overboard with it. Overall I'm pleased with the boat's look.
Hi Rob - it's a great kit and if you can locate the Lion Roar detail set then you can take it to the next level. Be sure to keep me posted on your progress and thanks for watching!
Hi Mr G, that is looking great, looking forward to what the end product looks like, are there going to be any figures? Keep safe and well, sadly the state of Victoria in Australia is going into a seven day lockdown.
Hi Les - there will be three figures that I bought on Shapeways (3D printed). They look great and I think they are going to be just enough. I'm very happy with the look of the boat, even if it's taken me 4 years to get there. Lol. I'm sorry to hear about the lock down - hopefully vaccinations will help things go back to normal soon (here in Texas things are on a sharp decline now as we reopen). Stay well and thanks for watching!
Mr. G, the air vents at the back of the bridge provide fresh air to the below deck spaces. The large boxy ones further provide the engines with intake air. The compass thingy is called a binnacle. Interesting build. You need to pay more attention to you focus, your point of focus is sometimes not the object being discussed. Good job overall. Slante, Ed
It's the permanent stand I had made for it. One of my fellow club members did the base and I installed the beams. My hope was that it resembles a boat being worked on out of the water.
While watching this video I remembered who made the set of 4floating mines. Cammet Ltd. In the UK. Really nice resin casting.i have them for my S-100.
@@fw1421 the ones I have are from AFV club. Not exactly the best. I'm sure yours are way nicer!

That’s looking great, John. That sponge/rust combination works really well!

Wow, that's a nice subject and what a size! Nice build mr. G
Thanks very much! Definitely a big boat but lots of fun!
I LOVE ALL YOUR WORK!!
Thank you very much! I aim to please!
Great episode. Very helpful as I’m about to start this kit. From Rob from the UK

What is that wooden support stand you are using? Is it for displaying or supporting while painting/building?

Just a comment
