I honestly wish I knew this type of career was available 45 years ago. I would have loved to have given it a go. Not saying in any way that I'd be anywhere near Bobby's level but I can see myself enjoying the process of creating. Love your work, Sir. The difference between this guy and new jewelers is that new jewelers 3d print everything for the mold. This guy makes it by hand!
I think in one of his videos he went to school for some 8-10 years for custom jewelry making. It shows above and beyond. His precision and details are out of this world. He's got a crazy eye for unique designs.
I am an old school jeweler but nowadays few people do want to pay the price for purely handmade jewelry. So we kind of forced to go the 3D way to keep the prices competitive, only when you have build up an niche clientele like Bobby you can do this. But that takes a lot more then just jewelry making skills and lots of money as well.
They were saying in a couple videos that they use a 3D printer for molds sometimes.
I make it by hand too but its so hard too find buyers that im basically starving too get by and nobody wants too be philanthropic or remotely charitable so its been a struggle especially with covid
