It really sickens me how its fashionable for people to be throwing the phrase "mental health awareness" about mild depression or anxiety that may not even be clinical in nature, whereas the same virtue signallers will call the police over a schizophrenic exhibiting harmless echolalia, like my brother.
Vague, pseudo woke idiots like that piss me off so much. Be a fucking good person without posting about it online.

As a 13 year old who has went through bullying, depression and anxiety, self harm, and body image issues, just because I was 10 when this all started doesn't mean I don't have depression. This goes for everyone, not only myself. Now I am 4 months clean of self harming. I am so proud of where I am right now. My parents don't support me, but I have lots of friends that have my back. I am so grateful to have them. My parents have made me feel like asking for help makes you weak, and this reassured me otherwise. Thanks Billie. I will always love you.

Some of the comments in this comment section are so saddening. I am older. I've spent substantial time working in high needs school districts. I've been to more suicide funerals than any other type of funeral. Two of those funerals the shame was still so thick that the cause of death was literally just ignored. Mental Health Is Real. Please don't ever accuse someone of faking being sad for attention. The reality is, if they ARE actually "faking" for attention, that is concerning in and of itself and deserves love and help. Billie being willing to openly talk about something that many adults (and some kids) "shame" or "push aside as a phase" is really important for people of all ages to see. I'm sure you would rather have an uncomfortable conversation about feelings with your kid (or friend) than have an uncomfortable conversation at their funeral. So be nice or be quiet ;) If you agree with this please click like or comment to push it above the negative comments, and do the same for the other positive ones.

Root & Paw honestly this is the comment this comment section needed. And yeah if you do fake it then there has to be a reason. Sometimes that is what I feel like. Because I don't know how many times I have every said "i have mental health issues, please help Me" it honestly is not that easy and I don't think that something many people understand

    “ no one:”

Going through the comment section, it saddens me that many include something about 14 year olds being depressed. Not all of us are like that, m afraid. I have met many 14 year old girls who are like that: faking depression because it’s cool, or being toxic because it’s cool. I’ve had friends that were like this, and they were some toxic bitches. However, there are some people like me who have an anxiety disorder, and it’s important for people to understand that depression isn’t the only mental disease. I have medicated anti-depressants that I take because my stress is so bad, and I wasn’t able to get proper help up until recently, and even then, all it is is medications. Nobody is helping me through this, and nobody is helping me cope, because of the other girls and teenagers who fake mental illnesses. Because of the stigma around teen mental health, I am not able to voice my pain without being met by some condescending doctor. For context, my father has been in the military for over ten years, so in those ten years, I lived in one place for five years, another for six months (I was bullied in that said place for being atheist), and then I moved overseas to South Korea for two years, and then I moved back to the states, and though it has been only two years, I am about to move somewhere again. Moving overseas is stressful. Because of those six months and those two years, my father didn’t deploy until the middle of my eighth grade year. He didn’t come back until September of this year, when I was in high school. Another stress factor. My mother also can’t handle stress, as she grew up in a traditional Asian family with a toxic mother and a father that didn’t really care. I also have two younger brothers. You have to understand, I shouldn’t have to explain my reasons for feeling the way I do, but because of these girls, I have to provide story after story before I can get any semblance of help. Also, military doctors suck, and I had to switch doctors before I could see some results. I also had a problem with my knee, which occurred when I was in Korea; I slipped on ice, and my femur went one way, and my shin went the other. I had to wait two years before I could get an X-ray or an mri done, and because X-rays can only show bone, I had to wait another year before I could get an mri, because the doctors thought I was some teenage girl faking an injury. In conclusion, I can some of yalls hate towards teenage girls who “have a mental illness”, and I hate them too. But please, don’t make confuse them with teenagers who need actual help, and fucking listen to their problems. We are the future, and by ignoring our problems, it sets a precedent that it’s okay to ignore those problems, and it makes us be hateful and toxic. Sorry for ranting, and thank you for reading.

I really loved that she mentioned not only getting help, because that’s the first step, but also GIVING HELP. SO many people get the help that they need, which is great, but then not bother to give it to someone else who needs it. Like that person may be going through what you went through ten months ago & may be struggling, and you’re not gonna help them? That’s probably why so many people are depressed now because no one GIVES them help or asks them how they feel. I just think that we all should get and give help in order to make sure that we’re all okay

Dashie's Air Just because she's young and famous, doesn't mean that she doesn't have depression or anxiety. Yeah, some of her fans think it's kinda edgy, that's how emo kids who listen to Nirvana were and then Kurt Cobain killed himself and suddenly y'all actually care about mental health. But she is not her fans, and she shouldn't be shamed if she does want to to talk about her mental health and emotions. I was legitimately diagnosed with depression when I was her age and I was so ashamed to tell others because they didn't take me seriously and that caused me to get worse, to a very dangerous point.

billie eilish has had/dealing with actual mental health problems. i’ve been listening to her for two years now and yes i’m 13 and i do face mental health problems. it’s is real for some kids so maybe when you think a 13/14 year old says stuff to “relate” or be “quirky” maybe they actually need help. i do understand that some of these kids do/say these kind of things though to have an “aesthetic” or “act depressed” for attention but you don’t have to comment
    “no one:
14 year old girls: omg depression”
instead of commenting things everyone else is commenting make a statement or add tips or comment why it’s messed up to act sad for attention and maybe try to educate them on the subject so they know. also some of y’all seem to forget artists/singers have feelings too so let billie open up about mental health especially since she has a younger audience and music can be used for coping with things especially her music.
