I'm with Antonio, this song is great and doesn't need an over the top solo.
Song is Dark Tranquillity with golden era In Flames guitar work. Works for me.
It would be cool if in the rest of the album we can have more of that Golden Era In Flames guitar work... from Lunar Strain until Colony :)

@@josepedro3687 you would need Glenn Ljungström and a Bjorn for that guitar work. Jesper is amazing at melody and it was complimented by the aforementioned two. You don’t get the three together, you don’t get golden era in flames sound.

I was so excited hearing this song for the first time, that I didn’t even remember hearing a solo. Lol. I had to listen to it again, to fully hear the song. I loved the song! I’m just soaking up hearing music from these legends, and I cannot wait to hear the rest of what they do! Take it as a gift that we get anything. Too many bands break up or have feuds and never want to put out any more music until it’s too late. Enjoy the ride. I loved it. It brought a smile to my face.

A lot of the song reminds me of 'Fiction'. People need to realise that most of the time, music is written around the vocalist and what they can do. This song 100% fit Mikael's vocals.
I’m glad you guys said it, it does give off a Dark Tranquility vibe. But I was hoping for Jesper guitar tone from old in flames like clayman era and before. But that being said , I like song but it was a grower. I hope there are heavier tracks and maybe a classical/folk vibes from old albums of in flames but not a carbon copy more of an influence. Happy you guys did this video/song🤘🏻

Totally agree. Dark Tranquility is such an exquisite band. Mikaels vocals are unique IMO
The absence of solo really reminds me the old In Flames songs with some dual guitars melodies. Very nice song! Looking foward to listen to the other tracks! I really enjoyed the react guys!

If you think of old In Flames, name 10 ultra heavy soli and you will see In Flames was never famous for this. Though I agree a real solo would have been better. Or a real epic solo finale instead of the same chorus again and again. All in all awesome track, epic guitar play in chorus. For the upcomming I wish for more progression in the song.

People forget that a lot of the solos from the early and mid 90’s was Glenn Ljungström. December flowers solo was him. If they can get him back you will hear that old in flames sound. During the jesters race they had 3 guitarists.
Correct. The solo is beautiful, but the band didn't play it live to my knowledge and from clips I have seen.

Agree with the solo thing, I was expecting an old style in flames Jesper's solo & this felt like decaf coffe, specially coming from the first track
From the early snippet we've been feed of the song I thought that It sounded exactly like Dark Tranquillity. After listening to the song It only solidifed my thoughts and It literally could have been a song taken from the Moments album. The only part that feel a bit "In Flames"-ish are the lead/solo part with the harmonies. That said I think the song is not bad, but I admit I was expecting more of a old In Flames feeling. Still curious tough to hear the rest of the album... will see...
Too early to judge a band by just one single song. I believe the best is yet to come 😘 As we know jesper as the main composer. He is good at writing good riffs and melody. After all that is what we aim for.. and he is not into this kind of virtuoso solos.. he is always more into guitar melody line.. harmonic, simple and memorable.

in all honesty, I heard this the other day and I absolutely loved this track, yeah the solo wasn't amazing, but I have this feeling that Nuclear Blast decided on releasing this first as a single/video because it is more on the radio friendly side of things... in saying this, I'm hoping that their first album will be MUCH more than this. I mean as an example, Dark Tranquillity's Fiction and the first single off that album, Focus Shift... great track! But probably the weakest song off that album.

Agree on the guitar solo. Really nice track though, but the more or less lame solo pulls the song down a notch. Guess the expection of something similar to "Only for the Weak" threw me off. Good content guys! Keep it up!
I like the song but the solo hurts it.
Keep in mind that only for the weak it was bjorn gelotte doing the lead. These 2 gents are more riff oriented than solos so i would not expect mega solos on this record, i might be wrong though.
Had higher hopes for this. Kinda meh but I'll listen to the album when it comes out.
The harmony lead's melody sounds me like the bridge of a song i can't remember what it is. Good song tough, i like it a lot. By the way, seeing Jasper, Peter and Daniel around again moved me, they brought me at the times when In Flames was one of my favourite bands (THAT band will always remain one of).
Edit: i figured out what song is: the chorus (not the bridge) of Full Moon Shoals by Soilwork has the same melody.

Guitar solos are overrated 😜 I don't really miss a huge solo from this song.But I understand what Pedro said,it was his 1st listening,I might felt the same at the 1st time...but I can't remember as I've listened shit-loads of time since 😆 I quite like this song,it's simple awesome 🤘🤘🤘

I dont think that was a solo, but with that said, I was expecting an amazing solo and it was disappointing when it didn't happen, but overall, definitely an amazing track.
I enjoyed this song, but I'd have to agree, it was sort of the same from beginning to end. It never felt different at any point, not that it needed to, but it's just my opinion. The solo didn't add much for me, it was ok. I would have loved to hear them spice things up, but it was just bare bones. It's still a good song, but not one that I'll keep on repeat. Maybe with a few more listens I'll end up loving it, music is funny that way.

I agree on Pedro. I Have hoped this would sound more like the older In flames with Jesper stromblad on the guitar, didn´t sound like he had an influence on this too much. But anyways just requested an TBT on patreon with one of his side project, dimension zero and their track from their ep. Through The Virgin Sky, this is In flames on steroids. Check it out at some point, but should be from their ep.

Pedro, you were spot on! The solo is almost pathetic. The song as a simple structure, so the solo really had to stand out. Nevertheless, this is a good and very listenable song, I'm eager for more. Abraço
