The clue is in Waters attraction to ethanol.
If you have the facilities and the stomach for it you can use a suitable container with a drain tap. Just add water to your ethanol soaked petrol, shake vigorously for a while and allow to sit for a few days, then just drain the water and its ethanol attracted molecules via the tap, which is made easy by the fact the water has sunk to the bottom of the petrol.
There are plenty of explanatory videos on youtube

Yes, I’ve watched a few of those videos. It does seem rather counter-intuitive to deliberately add water to your petrol, but I might give it a go in the long, dark, dank winter months. Thanks for your comment. 😊

Put a polythene under the cap to seal the tank. I keep E10 for a year and start and consume it all without any issues whatsoever on a 1973 classic.

Interesting, I’ve never heard of that before but I’ll give it a try! Thanks for the comment. 😊

Very entertaining Phil, your master of story telling. Removing lead from fuel was a painful but necessary endeavor. Yes old enough to remember and having to add lead replacement in for my old first generation Honda Prelude, loved that car. Adding corn juice is just motoring vandalism, makes no ecological or economic sense. They offer regular and corn crap fuel in Oz, nearly no one buys the E10 E5 fuels here as it is only pennies cheaper but increases your fuel consumption. Don't know of what additives to add but plenty of our American cousin do as they get the crap fuel too and in the Northern latitudes they have to park their bikes for their extended cold snowy winters. I am sure if you searched winter motorbike storage preparation in America you would find some advice about the additives that work.

Thank you, you’re too kind! I actually bought a bottle of STA-BIL Storage Fuel Stabiliser (aka Start You Bastard) off of Amazon recently - link below - after doing a bit of research. The US reviews seem to rate it but as I said in the video, all these additives seem to me at least to come with a hefty dollop of marketing pixie dust. Do they work? I guess I’ll let everyone know in a few months time! Or, as you’re heading into your winter months there, maybe do a test on your channel? If you’ve got access to a bike with a carb, that is.

@@3Phils I just use regular fuel not the E5 or E10 Phil and anyway I ride all through the winter when its not raining, even then sometimes take out the dual sports and ride in the forests. On the other bikes, Thermals, cold weather gear and heated grips and if its really cold, 1deg C, take out the ST1300abs. Have to pick my days for the FTR and R18 but still get them out. I have to ride, if I don't for a few days I got nutty and spend my time on bikesales looking for another bike. Just today picked up a mint 2017 F700GS, haven't told the wife yet, can not resist a bargain. I'll just blame the dementia again . Going to need a bigger garage or heaven forbid sell a couple like I said I would.

@BikesDrones Ha! You’re addicted! Aren’t we all? I’ve driven through snow in the Vic mountains in winter, which was quite mind-blowing for a Brit who was brought up thinking Oz was just sun and sand. And a little bit scary tbh.

@@3Phils Hope you do a story time video about your experiences of driving in the snow in Oz I am sure you could craft a wonderful narrative and slide show. Most Brits thinks its just like Neighbour's 😎🌞

@BikesDrones I spent a while out there and absolutely love the place. You can occasionally still hear my adopted Aussie twang if you listen hard enough! 🤣 That’s not a bad idea, I’ve got loads of photos. By the way, apologies in advance for being a bit offhand about the R18 in an upcoming video, it’s just not my cuppa tea, sorry. 😕 That’s not to say I wouldn’t jump at the chance to go for a ride on one!

The T160 is looking tidy , could you get some warmth into your carbs , with a cheap blower heater, on for ½ before take off ?
