- Knockoff LEGO is everywhere these days. This video takes a look at a fake LEGO Star Wars 75211 Tie Fighter that is branded as "Space Wars" and not affiliated with LEPIN. Fake LEGO sets are often lower quality and this fake LEGO Tie Fighter is no exception. I do and in-depth comparison of the real and fake LEGO Star Wars Tie Fighter models including a close look at the minifigures. I DESTROY the FAKE LEGO Tie Fighter at the end of the video! :) I certainly didn't want to keep it!

As a little child, I would have been very happy even with the fake LEGO sets, I would not have mind those slight quality differences for sure. I think the knock off LEGO sets are very good alternatives for people who clearly can't afford the real LEGO. Let's be honest the real LEGO sets are way too overpriced just because of the brand and licences.

I had a bunch of fake legos! I just sorted them as an adult, I literally didn't even know lol I had some cool stuff like a castle and a big boat - in terms of lego I had some really small stuff - but I was always happy :D

Ok so I'm gonna be honest I bought a knock off brand lego republic gunship and venator,I believe there both lepin (and I hear that's the best knock off ones you could get) because I cant afford the over priced official ones.
The official price is ludicrous anyway, I'd rather get the bootleg one because by the end of the day its just gonna sit on the table for display all day
I get you man, thanks for coming forward with this. Unfortunately most around here seem to not understand the price aspect of lego vs fake. This fake one offers quite a lot am I’m absolutely impressed by its offering. I am lucky to be able to afford the real ones and don’t buy any of the knockoffs, but I understand the need for them and I highly appreciate them for what they’re offering. Growing up I had none, so the fakes would have been absolutely amazing for me!

The brand of that fake version is BELA. They ripoff many of the same sets as LEPIN, and frequently they are a bit cheaper than LEPIN.
So they rip-off the rip-off, outstanding move.

@@swiftk1ng_894 in all honesty, if the user is not a pretentious prick, the Bela will probably suffice, at leas in terms of building experience and display. The Bela’s for those who either can’t afford the 2x premium of real lego, or those who want most of the experience at half the price. For the first, imho, the Bela is doing a wonderful thing.
It's kinda impressive in just how cleanly all the parts separated in the explosion.
One of them is 3 times more expensive and in dome cases 5 times more for the bigger stuff, so for alot of ppl thats all that matters
@liam Anderson do take note that lego makes and designs its own sets, meaning it needs them to spend more on a single lego set. lepin or any other knockoffs just copy the things they make

That Lepin set breaking apart was actually pretty nice. Like you said there weren't many chunks left so visually it was pleasing.
I don’t see the downside of buying some fake Lego sets if you’re not planning on ever selling them, especially if you’re just getting them for your collection

With Lego you’re helping pay the designers who spent hours and hours into designing and making the set as good as they could, but with Lepin they just copied the other person’s ideas and they don’t get money. So morally, I think Lego is probably better, but objectively Lepin is the better deal

I’m a plastics injection molder by trade, the difference in molding quality is immediately apparent when you showed the hinged pieces close up. Lots of poor processing errors in that one part.
Or they just don’t care about the quality. Lower quality implies less expensive equipment and materials and translates to half the price. Not a bad deal for those who can’t afford the real deal, sadly.

I'd say stuff like this is decent to buy Lepin of (TIE Fighters, X Wings, especially good if you need more than one) but definitely a jump down in quality with figures.

There are people who unironically pay over $600 for fucking plastic bricks made for children. Don't get me wrong I love lego and always have, but the epidemic of scalpers and ludicrous prices plague original lego sets. I realise the quality is far superior and I'm not detesting that, but for a display piece that I'm not going to play with it seems reasonable. Lego elitists honestly need to shut up and understand there are those who don't want to pay their bs prices from some loser in their basement who thinks a fucking republic gunship costs $700 (real experience).

You probably already know this but if you go on Aliexpress you can get fake lego sets for so so much cheaper than ebay, a tie would be like $15-$20 and millennium falcon is $35
I have the millennium falcon and it’s really great. The minifigures look better compared to the ones in this video. It’s actually pretty close but it’s stable
All I've noticed with the two fake lego sets (King Republic Gunship and Mould King razorcrest) are issues with pieces being too tight/loose, minifigures being meh (and arms and legs being too tight actually), stickers being downright awful and some bends in longer pieces. Almost worth it for the absolutely reduced prices, especially for sets lego doesn't make anymore.
