People are saying he was rude to Miss Manners, but maybe he was put off by the way she said she was the only person in society who knew how to eat correctly. He seemed to be really insulted about that.
@RnBeautyJazzflower I'm not sure manners are as common as you would suggest. If they were, people would not be having serious-- sometimes violent-- disagreements about them. Of course, you could chalk up their behavior to them being innately persnickety and/or sociopathic (and I don't deny that there fusspots and sociopaths out there), but that still does not explain the many well-meaning individuals whose sole concern in writing Miss Manners is to ensure that they are treating others well.
In India there is a language called MARATHI . Marathi is regional language for state Maharashtra. There is one marathi you tube channes named " BhaDiPa ". And it used to perform Comedy spoof of miss manners. With title Miss manners che Shishtachar. Which is inspired by this miss manners.
Miss Manners, let's list her "faux pas," shall we? Lots of gesticulating. Doesn't sit upright, leaning over like a cave man. Not dressing for the occasion (bright, sunny clothes for a nighttime-aired show). Claiming she is the only one with good manners--only one that knows how to eat, she said it herself (modesty is polite). Interrupting. Sitting without straightening your dress--i.e., appearing slovenly on national TV. Sitting awkwardly in the chair. I do believe in politeness, respect, and manners. No, I don't believe all the aforementioned faux pas are ALL that big of a deal, I'm just essentially holding a mirror to the hypocrisy of it all. If you're going to be Miss Manners and be so strict as she's seeming to say she is, you'd better live up to it! I disagree overall with most of what she said and did... The line "it's only funny when you're doing it, not when it's being done to you," is not a good blanket-type rule. In the instance of the ambassador and the pea? Well, yeah, I don't think I'd like a stranger tossing peas into my cleavage. But there are plenty of other silly things you can do with food where I think it's absolutely fine!
@star5777006 for 1 thing, arent u being hypocritical in ur sarcasm since what u just said would b considered rude? second, u completely dont understand what im saying, its these crazy edict people who are always rude and abnoxious always thinking that not only r they extremely better than everyone else but that any oter way is wrong & everyone has to abide by their rules of edict. look at MA, my homestate. it used to be really puritain and everyone hated them and now we're the most liberal state
I love Miss Manners. Thanks for posting this. (She wouldn't approve if I didn't thank you.)
It would have been better if the book cover said Miss Manners "Eat Me!"

I was raised on this school of etiquette...finishing school should be REQUIRED of all people.
Love Miss Manners.
She literally claimed that everyone but her doesn't know how to eat properly.

Thank you for posting this, conanfan33.
conan was rude with her.
I think he was intentionally rude because he thought it was funny to show bad manners in front of Miss Manners. I found it tiresome.
@4:10...who knew face-palming was good manners?
Why did he invite her, if he felt compelled to yell over her the entire time?
Just here to see who Jessie Mueller's playing in the Post
Conan would not let Miss Manners get a word in edgewise. How rude!

@OTTTB Oh no, Conan's way too polite to do anything of that nature.
@popshott If you really think so, then why are you watching this?
The towers cannot be sad. A person can be sad.

@DesQueJteVois Me neither. Marie Antoinette, anyone?
Horrible interview. He's cutting her off and makes jokes of the topic no chance of learning about her etiquette of eating before buying her book
@benmcd170 but everyone still hates Massholes...
