Colby doesn't have a single good win in his record. His best victories were against Bumsvidal, who's literally never been good, and against Woodley and Lawler who were way past their primes. The only reason why people think he's elite is because he had two close fights with Usman, but they neglect to consider that Usman himself may have had a pretty overrated championship reign in retrospect - think about it, Usman had 6 title wins and a whopping four of those were against Trashvidal and Cuckvington; Jorge only got those undeserved title shots because he was a star, and Colby did it via trash-talk, NEITHER of these guys had ever proved that they were elite. I'll admit that Usman beating Burns and Woodley is impressive, however (even though Woodley was fairly old and nearing the end of his prime).
Colby proved he was elite tho. I mean going to war against Usman, and arguably getting a draw in the rematch. Usman destroyed Burns. who is also another elite fighter. I would agree his championship reign was a bit overrated, but Usman was still a great champion. he was beating the current champion dominantly until he wasn’t. that says everything you need to know.
Umar doesn’t have a single good win on his record either and the UFC is gifting him a number 1 contender fight.
