come on everybody , where are you .....take this in and get a good earfull of this amazing rendition of a rock classic. Richard and the guys deserve it a million times over
Let's keep Richard for ourselves - like a good whiskey.
Let the philistines listen to the Eagles for the billionth time.
Best cover of this classic that i've heard..
I swear that everytime i listen to this version is just gets better and better. Pure class
Remember Richard singing this at Pocklington the night news came Lou had died. Great tribute.
It is just a gorgeous version. Listened many times already and it just gets better each time!
this is right up Richard Hawleys street, no problem..what a hero. great musicianship from a top artist with a superb band . I haven't got all of his albums yet but Im working on it !!..Definately one of the best artists in the Werstern hemisphere in my opinion. With this guy you get 100% . The performance quality is second to none and is so underrated against most of thew rubbish being dished up from GB. Richard Hawley reflects that close knitwork against American rock and R&B.
Richard must be one of the best musicians around. His new album is STUNNING. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. This is just great, can you buy this gig anywhere?
Saw hawley in pocklington the day reed died, played this song, was amazing, great tribute
Unreal!!!
Haunting version of this classic. Fabulous.
unbelivable cover, lou reed would of been proud !!!!!
would have been proud of
Not heard you sing this before, brilliant! please come back to the midlands soon as you can 👌
How he managed to make this song sound even better is beyond me.
Tiago Pedroso he's hawley for a reason ;)
Yep. Thinking the same as you about this.
A great rendition of a classic song.
Richard and his band ..they have all....Look, Music, Guitars,....Sound.....Interpretation....!!!!
Excelente version ¡¡¡
Absolutely brilliant.
Wonderful
Mr Hawley is the dogs baws so he is,gorgeous version, nine minutes flew by.
Ooooooooooo that o so filthy guitar! Oh my 👍
One of the best covers very trippy
Nice, love it!
This is a real cover, not a copy. Tremendous version. The influence of the Velvet Underground in modern rock music is phenomenal
RH knocks it out the park again. Top man.
Wow so good!
Man, that was nice 😎
Great different take on a fantastic song. I love this.
Oh! So Good! Hard to capture Velvets spirit but Richard Hawley slams this one in the net. Beautiful.
Beauty version. Beauty guitars !!!!
Beautful os Beautful
Toooooo cool. Thank you Lou and Richard.
great version of this Lou reed song. They have really beautiful guitars. wish I could afford such beauties....☹
there is no word other than PERFECTION!
there aren't enough thumbs up you can give to this, repeater.
This is unbelievable.
So hipnotic, so great
This is sublime!
absolute perfection
Instrumentally and arrangement-wise, this is a damned good homage to the Velvets! And how about Hawley himself takin' the lead....and on a MOSRITE! Way cool.
Simply Brilliant, as always...
Fantastic version
!Qué perfección! MUUUUY COOL!
I just had to come back, I can't get over then end... from the beginning, everything in between. Thanks so much for the introduction! Richard is AWESOME!
Fabulous! Fabulous!
Excellent.
effin Awesome!!!!
THIS IS FUCKING PERFECT
gorgeously dreamy.
Que TOPzera minha gente
Sensory bliss.......
wholesome goosebumps
great job covering a classic
wow !
hello from switzerland,
great version of a great Lou Reed song.
Thank you.
Peter
perfect this is.
I'm a big fan of Lou Reed but I have to say that this is one of the few occasions where the cover is better than the original version
Good version. Not close to Reed’s sorry man
increíble
fantastica..
excellent..!..his masters voice..;-)
Loving this, didn't think it would be possible to improve on the original or Bowie/Ronnos later take, but this takes the song in a different direction, Lou would be pleased I'm sure.
graffiante ...splendida
Cracking shit man, great version, superb guitar........great alround!
I'm with you, dude. Totally, bewilderingly, splendidly, brilliant... :-)
Even better than the original one, in my opinion. Great performance!
Solo's remind me of Mike Monarch's work on 'The Pusher'
Welcome to MARS.... I'm floating.
Good God,. 2 years last comment???? I have to get my fix of this at least once a week.......... Love ya all for seeing this......... PEACE
eastwood sidejack BARITONE. i own one, it's woo-woo wonderful!
Too cool, like Leonard Cohen smooth & deep but sweet too, very!
A good version by Hawley. I wouldn’t crawl up his arse like some folk and say it’s better than the Velvets because it transparently isn’t but it’s still good.
OK. It's my opinion that I wouldn't crawl up his arse like some folk.
In my opinion your opinions suck.
i seethe potential for a doctoral thesis in there somewhere!!
It doesn't give me chills like some of the great versions I've heard. But I think Lou would dig it.
The guy can croon! :)
now i wish there was something you would do or say, to try and make me change my mind and stay...
please someone - which album is this on? can i find it on any recording, or was this the only time he played it? that would really be hard to believe, this is absolutely fantastic, i love VU and i love richard but this is something exceptional..
That's how to s#it with a song!
i wouldnt agree, i think this is as good as the original! and i grew up on velvet underground :)
Nice. Can't say I agree with the lead tone at 2:10, but all in all real nice.
like rich but lou's version is much more raunchy and the best
Although, I don't believe that this is better than the original. After all, this wouldn't exist without the original.
Anyone know how to download a copy of this to iTunes?
Whats the guitar he is using?
Is Hawley´s "waiting for my man" to be found on a CD??
Think it's just download on iTunes, Microsoft store etc... Other Voices: Volume 9 Series 3 (Live)
Interesting.
i think the bataclan version is the better chill way to play this song with the right emotion
the original is ofcourse the best way
Better , longer, than the original
+John Rowan i wouldn't say better. but it's longer for sure. but VU playing the song live would have it going for a while
Gutted to hear the news today..
Richard is playing an Eastwood guitar...can't remember the model name, but it's kind of a 60's Mosrite copy.
It's a Sidejack
baritone sidejack to be precise
not so New Yorkish but more relaxed, loungy, even jazzy
to me is so park ave.
I like all the different versions, even Vanessa Paradis did a decent cover.
Can someone with better eyesight than me tell me what guitar Richard is playing here?
I'm waiting for my frogs, a raccoon is singing Christmas Carols to mice and a rattlesnake is dancing on the moon wawaawawawa 👽🛸🌙🌕🌕🐍🐍🐍🐸🐸🐸🌲🌲🌲🐁🐀
🌜😍💘

yeh man whats that about? drop tuning or something
His voice kinda sounds like Iggy Pop, but let's not compare. Totally unique!
Robert De Nero
5.56 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
it's an electric guitar
Can guitars really do that?
Typically in a way that sounds more like Take a Walk on the Wild Side.
haha ok, lou style
eastwood sidejack.
I see where Alex Turner got the hair from now.
Ross he's not the first teddy boy/greaser/rockabilly that's for sure
