*Did you see this? If you didn’t see this…make sure you start bringing it into your game as soon as possible*
Yo Alex you don't need to need the click bait titles. I think your fan base has way more respect for your tip videos. As for dropping shots on the course, I would love to see a video of you doing course management. In the future hopefully. I love your vids bro, keep up the good work. I have truly improved because of your tips.
Coming up for you 🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@AlexElliottGolfI have to agree! A straightforward and precise call to action is all you need.
Absolutely @alexelliottgolf ... the titles are really putting me off what seem like well considered tips.
If I may be honest, I don’t even read the titles. I just click , watch , practice, improve
I must not be following all the drills correctly. I'd have expected to be scratch by all those shots I could loose following all your tips, Instead of being 16hcp.
As my left knee was hurting (just had it replaced) I opened up my left foot and just kept missing everything left. Contact was good and consistent, it just became more of an alignment issue or swing path. Love the move and freedom it does allow
Great tip Alex. I love learning something like this that does not require constant swing thoughts and tons of practice to see improvement. 👍
I have a bad left ankle and this is gold. I had thought this from necessity but seeing it codified makes a difference. Thanks!
Excellent…I’m about to sign up!
Excellent tip Alex on flaring out the front toe! I think for the senior golfer, it's also a good idea to flare out the right toe as well! Both give a player the necessary extra rotation to add distance to their shots! Well Done Alex!!!
Absolutely
Tried this today out on the course, what a difference. I’m 56 yr old and it really helps to get through the ball and complete a full follow through. 👍🏻👍🏻
Love that Gary! So good to hear that it worked for you
This works thank you
You're welcome!
I did this at the range today and it definitely works
Nice video. I will try it on my next range session. I have an idea for a future video. How to play uphill & down hill lies on a full swing
great suggestion !!
Alex, I play off 9 and the weakest club in my bag is the driver. I generally hit the ball around 275 ish. But I suffer with falling off the shot and stumble onto my back foot. Could this be because my feet are too square at address.
I have always done this from my days in martial arts. it helps with hip movement with say a round house kick so I brought it too my golf game.
Alex, if I chose to tee-off with my 3 wood, what should the tee height be?
Great video
Thanks for the visit
Thanks for video….
I was taught this years ago. From my experience the one thing you have to beware of is making sure your hips and shoulders remain square. I have to “feel” as if my right elbow is “tucked” in and this keeps my shoulders square. I put the words in quotes because these are the feels I have developed for me. Obviously you will feel something else.
I've been doing this for a few years now. I'm 71 and found that rolling over onto my lead foot on the follow through was causing foot pain. So, I simply opened my left foot to relieve the pain and suddenly found that my swing felt free and I seemed to get better contact.
Hi Alex I started doing this about 7 months ago not bcos I saw it on a video but bcos I had a left knee replacement last march and with being a right hand golfer it's less painful on my left knee when swinging/turning through my swing. Great video's by the way 👍
I've been flaring the lead foot out for a while, and it's polished up my follow through nicely. I've always been a fader, so I've pulled the trail foot back by a couple of inches. Those two things have made a great difference. Much straighter, and longer, and even a few draws thrown in.
My fitter told me to do this last week, results are insane.
I’ve always used this setup. I’m slew footed. The only difference is I set up square to the target and turn both feet out. This setup is more comfortable for me.
Hi Alez, great videos but could you please use the terms "lead" and "trail" instead of left and right? That would work better for left or right handed golfers.
Course!! This is a great suggestion. I have you covered 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
thank you for making this video, a little backstory. my knee in my lead leg has 5 knee surgeries and its hard for me to twist up with the "standard" stance. a few months ago i started flaring out my lead leg to take off some pressure on the knee. glad to see flaring out my lead leg is a good thing
glad it helped and get well soon
I've notice that if I slightly have a open stance , more with my feet than shoulders I hit the ball so much better. Only issue I have is I feel kinda weird doing it, like It's not the proper set up. I will definitely try this out.
Great advice for the left foot, but counter to what is good for seniors on the trail foot. Folks, think more like Sam Snead, who had way, way more flexibility than even young people, and he flared his trail foot. Alex is teaching a young man's swing.
Benn doing this for awhile now. Made a HUGE difference for me. I also drop my right foot straight back about 6 inches
I drop my right foot back about 3 or 4 inches and it’s a game changer I’ve been crushing the ball
I have also been doing it, you have to line up using your heels rather than your toes (another AE video IIRC)
Me too...
I find it helps me flaring the back foot a little as well
Takes a bit of pressure off my body as I turn and allows more flexibility in my body
I don't flare it as much as my front foot but do not lock my legs in "straight" unless I am putting
Flare the back foot, too……stops the sway, builds power, helps complete the swing
I've always setup how Ben Hogan taught. Being over 50, I've started turning open right foot to help with back swing turn. Have you seen Rocco Mediate's swing? What I don't get with his swing is the right foot way behind the left.
good point!
I’m playing tomorrow and will definitely try this. I will let you know how many shots I drop.
Ben Hogan, 5 fundamentals advocated this. Actually to help with a better turn on your takeaway, you can slightly flair out your back foot too- not as much as the front foot, but back from square. Allows you to open that shoulder turn back more- easier on your back. Zalatoris has put this in his game
As a 70 year old golfer with a bit of a belly and limited mobility I find it easier to turn if I flare out both feet at address. It allows me to make a better turn in the backswing and a better turn through release.
What happened to the rear foot back a bit to help with a easier turn?
Alex thanks again for another lesson. I have a 15 year old daughter golfer at home. Was curious if you know of a female influencer that makes golf videos that she may be able to relate to? any recommendations would be appreciated.
What about trail foot back or closed
So Alex, I added up all your “guaranteed strokes saved” and I shot 52 the other day!
Think I would break my ankle doing this 😂
This just makes my hips point left of target.
Weak fades,slices inbound
I reccommend Porzac golf as he actually videos working with golfers. I just grew a beard because Scottie did. It hasn't cut strokes, but the savings on razors will pay for a round of golf every 6 months.
So… my snowboard stance. Got it
Ben Hogan explained it best
Alex, your tips make a lot of sense, but there are dozens and dozens of them. How can anyone 'simplify' their swing thoughts when trying to incorporate all these tips on the practice range or golf course? If you had to condense all of your tips into 3-5 for drivers/woods and the same number for irons, what would they be? I love all your vids, but after a while it becomes overwhelming.
Hi Gary! Great point this. I guess the idea of the channel is to help as many golfers as possible and then trying to answer as many question about golfers games.
I hope this helps
practice enough until these thoughts become muscle memory and automatic.
Bro that’s every CZcams “coach” they gotta pump content or else they don’t make money.
I watch a lot of videos, but I don't try everything. It's so easy to confuse your game. I would book some lessons, to get an idea of what you need to work on, and then focus there. You can filter through videos, and it makes it relatively easy to filter through, and work out which ones are relevant. There are some great vids about, plenty by Alex, but try them all, and you won't get anywhere.
I keep over swinging alex please 🙏 HELP 🙄🙏👌🏌️♂️👍
Ben Hogan put this set up in his book years ago.
Not everyone will have that book. 🤷
The foot flared out also prevents any injuries on your ankle or foot, especially for senior golfers. However it is also very rewarding to work on hip mobility doing exercises every day.
You lifted your rear heel.
Whoever won the Masters would get a video....lol I get it, it is about views, Nice video though and good info
Funny! as soon as a player wins a tournament, we all have to copy them.
then one second after they go to LIV they're called a has been. every week on the golf channel whoever is winning has the best swing ever
🤣🤣
nothing new players been left toed out for decades.
Stop talking crapppp
😘😘
Utter nonsense. If you watch him lose his balance after a swing for his tee shot on the third hole of his second round at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this year, you'll see that he will not have a long career, he's going to have major ankle problems in the future. Not to mention he has zero personality.
Last week it was drop your shots in half so that would make me 0.25 now with this tip I’m +4 now just 1 more tip and I’ll be on tour 👍
😁
