It’s sad that you think this clearly you missed the point of the movie the reason Diana said " *No but it’s what I’m going to do* "instead of saying "I’m not a man" is because this movie teaches that both genders are equal and that nobody is purely good.

I had a book by another Soviet archiologist and she was written when there was a USSR with black and white photographs. On which were depicted excavations in the Crimea. And there were women's attire in military ammunition, antique time.
Recently watched the broadcast on the Russian TV about the Amazons and there it was said that their state existed for about a thousand years. Men also lived in their state, but they did not have the right to occupy political posts, to fight and live in their capital. And the state of the Amazons stretched from the Caspian to Greece. And the Black Sea was the inner sea of the Amazon state. And so in their composition included the territory of present-day Turkey. There were several tribes of Amazons that were part of one state. I do not know whether this is true or not, but there is something to think about.
The Amazons existed. The Greeks wrote about them. They travelled and would pick up men who wanted to go with them, as they travelled around. Greeks put pictures of Amazons on their vases and pottery showing what the shield of an Amazon looked like. An Archeologist found grave of woman buried with spears and weapons and the same shield that the Greeks showed on their pottery. The grave was in Russian Plains or Steppes ? I don't know if you ever saw Charlie Brown comics and cartoons, but the pattern on his sweater is the same pattern on Amazon shields. Like this : VVVVV.
The male archeologists assumed the skeleton was a man, because of the weapons, but a woman noticed the hips were too wide and they tested the DNA, and it was grave of a woman. The shield she was buried with had the same design of an Amazon shield, which she knew about from writings and art of the Greeks. Not a myth at all.
