    Hey man, I subscribed to your channel immediately after watching the first of your videos I ran into. You genuinely put a lot of work into your videos and you can definitely tell by the great content they're filled with, you're a great youtuber. keep up the great work!

    I CANT believe how much you fit in that container! I would just throw in a few guitar picks as they are ULTRA small and thin and 1 will light up fast enough to get a blazing fire going. they really can fit anywhere and ate waterproof as in you can dry a wet one easily. try one ,it works.

    • @DropForgedSurvival
      @DropForgedSurvival  Před 7 lety

      Wait until my next Micro EDC Fire Kit comes out. I jammed that kit out. I just ordered 120 Guitars Picks.. lol I should have them in the mail today actually.

    • @WarGrrl3
      @WarGrrl3 Před 7 lety

      the guitar pics fit really well in your wallet also cuz they r thinner than a credit card and durable even better when bent a little. lol; any port in a storm

      I also have a titanium energizer 9v battery (wrapped up so i dont accidentally have a fire when i dont want one)and some steel wool, that can get a fire going really, really fast.

      WarGrrl3 I thought that's where they were going with the paper backed foil but I never saw a battery. Double A works with gum foil

    My fire kit, which is carried in the side pocket of a Fox Tactical shoulder bag, is a sealed Altoids tin of vaselined cotton balls, a waterproof container of strike anywhere matches, 2 BIC lighters, 2 Coleman fire starters, and a small packet of 100% cotton dryer lint. In the main pouch I have a baggie of juniper bark, cedar shavings, birch bark, pine resin, and chaga. In the top pouch I have an excellent ferro rod and striker (thank you Joseph Russel). I don't worry about water, because I carry a poncho that will cover me and my bag. I also carry a few other BIC lighters in the other pockets and pouches on this bag. I also carry jute twine.

  • @allonsdanser7562
    @allonsdanser7562 Před 7 lety

    I like that Flint striker. Grandpa had one with a clamp type protrusion on one side for a piece of rope. called a sheperds lighter he got it in Spain during their civil war, my brother uses it often still ...

    Ok, the kit is good and all but,, you edc all that?
    Where do you live in which you feel you need to have that much even for a get home bag?
    My bag I take to work is kinda a get home kit/ lunch box.
    I'd be good for a few days if need be and my work is like 12mi from home. I don't see the need for all the fire making stuff?
    A firesteel, some tinder options and a zippo is over kill for just a few days.

    This is an awesome little kit Brother. I see a lot of things I could add to my kit.
    I was wondering something though. You can buy gel caps (for making Medication) and you can buy a magnesium bar. couldn't you make your own fire starters from that?
    Anyway awesome video.

    I like your videos and content, but there is one slight problem. you took the time to mention that ust brand many time but never mentioned Stanford Outdoor Supply one time. That's 90 percent of the kit man, Alan puts alot of work into his kit and you put it into a ust kit container and never once gave the credit where it was due.

    Your kit seems like overkill to me. Having a lighter, a ferro rod, and say two of your tinders should be good enough. That gives you ample backup in case one or two things don't work. If you want all the rest of that stuff along anyway, I suggest you put it in another container and carry that somewhere else -ie put one in your pocket and one in your pack. That way you are covered in case one of your kits is lost. Right now, you've got a lot of eggs, and only one basket.
