Wow! The only moment Italy looked in any danger was about the 2500m mark when Ganna was leading and the rider behind could not keep up!
The rider is Simone Consonni. Just a compact beast of a man, 5'6" and 130 lbs. He had to dig deep earlier to win the points race and it definitely took a toll. Moreover, he also won a stage on the road at Saudi Tour a few weeks earlier. He almost blew it though.
@@trinerd No it wasn't, Consonni wasn't in this lineup, that was Francesco Lamon. Consonni wasn't in the lineup for the final beause he just won the points race about 2 hours before this.
The Italian who lost Ganna's wheel did the first kilometre on the front...
We witnessed once again a "try to catch me event". Italy is ruling at the moment.

Grande prestazione e soddisfazione. La seconda grande soddisfazione è chiudere questi europei davanti ai francesi. Un grandissimo applauso al CT Marco Villa che da anni raccoglie successi, grazie alla sua enorme esperienza e passione. Magari ci fosse stato uno così al posto di Cassani su strada.

The Lotus bike is a terrible design this time. Why would you have the seat stays waaay up to the seat? That would be too much flex on the frame & you lose so much power. Mickey Mouse engineer.
