tah one has to be toough when embarking on a journey in a foreign country....I remember I had a friend who went to study in SA and was implicated in some fraud staff...scary story she had to quit and come back home with alot of debt and a serious ban ..Thank goodness she has started over and in a completely different field. Keep strong wa its not easy .
I have a friend in Kenya do you know him😂 The ignoramos
It's really not easy, one really need to be careful because the moment you get involved in such acts it's over for you oshili
@@hilmaisrael May God help us...
@Sherry Well she was studying and working in a lab and her friend was stealing samples and asking her to carry a 'package' home after each shift....later it was discovered things were missing and she was the one caught on CCTV camera
To be honest indian education system is really tough :-)indian people's are so kind that's why they asked you so many question's💀😀
@@shierro3824 yup!☺
And you know what ? If they will not ask questions then these people will say “ INDIANS ARE SO RUDE “ 🙂
Not really .
@@bobfaam5215 why?
@@bobfaam5215 then why ? What do you think?
I’m Indian , I score 92% and my parents said that what is this score it’s not enough 🙂 and every single parents of india want full marks 🤓 we always feel depressed 🙂 so ! Best of luck :)
That's the problem of all Indians 🤣🤣
My parents are not like that :-)
Which class are you in
Not all parents, if i scored 92% my parents would be very happy. And I actually scored 91% this year when I graduated and they were over the moon.
I scored 95% my parents said not enough 🤡🤡
Africans are very nice and beautiful people. We love u and ur culture. Welcome to India.
Thank you😍
It's always hard living in a foreign country, to adapt to the culture is something else, nice video...
Very true,thank you
Dear Hilma..Indian education system is very tough, we have got used to it. Those who study for the first time find it very difficult...btw love from India 🇮🇳❤️we Indian's are very innocent.. actually 😁
It really is very tough,I was having a tough time coping during my 1st semester but I have kind of adapted now. The Keralites I have met so far were really nice to me

I'm a PG student from Kerala. I've seen foreign students around my campus and often wondered about their experience studying here.
You are really brave girl, moving to study here and keeping up with all the cultural changes. Wishing you good luck.. 🤍
Thank you soo much🥰
I study in Indian Institute of Science,Bangalore and there are lot of people from Nigeria studying here. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met😊. I have also made friends with them too...
At IISc? Bruh, there are barely anyone in IISc who is from Africa. There are foreign students but I haven't seen a single one who was from African continent.
@@gotfan7743 bro, I became friends with atleast 2 african guys
Go to B mess and C mess and you could see them.
BTW r u from IISc?
Wow,thats great to hear. Atleast you now have international friends😂🤣
what are you studying there
The thing is when we come to study/work/live in a country, we make it a point to learn the language, interact with the locals, try and go with the flow. India is one of the most easy going countries, the people are kind, the food is good and tremendous diversity. Most people I've met can speak a smattering of english ( even if not perfectly) apart from their native language. The education system is rigorous and I've always found the faculty very engaging.
I've seen people leave their countries to experience India.
Rest is upto you, how well you assimilate yourself into this beautiful chaos of a nation.
You couldn't have said it any better. You are very right
Nice info.. it’s definitely hard to adapt to a new culture. It takes time. Hope you have a good stay in India.
Thank you☺️
Okay about the Indian accent totally depends on which state or which part of India you are living ..the south , north, northeast ..all have Differnt accents.
Understood 😊
I don’t know but where I’m from “Kolkata” in india - majority of people understand English

Yoh, its tough to be a student in another continent. Atleast if you're a foreigner in a country that's part of your continent you won't really suffer as the culture is more or less the same. It must have been a journey just to get use to things over there man
It's really not easy wah, everything you do is being monitored,Kurough really 🤭😂

So far so good. Keralites are nice people
I know there might be some racism which you might have faced.
As an Indian, I would like to apologize to you . African people are amazing. I hope you have a great time 👍👍
Thank you Sharma, racism is everywhere really, there are good and bad people everywhere, doesn't matter what nationality.
@@hilmaisrael there is racism against Indians in South Africa, Guyana, Trinidad, Suriname, Jamaica etc did any African apologize?? Don't be too much apologetic.. no one in Indian will ever harm her..But think about Indians facing armed racist Africans with political support!
Any racisim in whatever form to anyone is unacceptable. Indians some times are curious beyond certain limits 😀 therefore outsiders might feel it a bit ackward. Nevertheless the fact is there's no other country on the planet which is so diverse as India, yet we exist together as a nation.
@@saryuji The countries you mentioned are all South American countries not African. Racism exist almost everywhere but there are countries like S.Korea. Yes they are. When in other countries, they (S.Koreans) complaint the most about racism against Asians but in their they most racist people against Indians. Even in India a incident took place two years back where a S Korean restaurant in India used to allow only S.Koreans in their restaurant (S Korean tourists, S Korean people working in embassies, L.G, Samsung, Hyundai, Kia & other S.Korean brands. That means a S.Korean restaurant which is in Indian doesn't allow Indians to enter their restaurant. They made hundreds of reaction channel on India just for views instead of loving they hate us. Just 12 days before an Indian living in S.Korea went to club with his friends not even a single club in the city allowed them to enter, instead the club staff abused & misbehaved with all of them, they were allowing other foreigners who were not Indians. They also placed a big board outside of the club's where there is openly written "INDIANS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER THE CLUB". The guy faced it is a youtuber and he uploaded the video search it. And there are hundreds of incident of racism by South Koreans against Indians
@@MerePitaShree it's not about location of countries, it's about treatment of majority africans towards Indians.
South Koreans donot break into your house in the day time and rob you. Africans do it in the Caribbeans and south africa with political support.
You as a tourist have an option to visit or not visit countries like south korea but Indians of south africa and Caribbeans are local citizens they can't walk out of the situation.. use your brains please.
All the best ❤️❤️
Welcome to India. Hope you get accustomed to the system easily & find things normal. Pretty soon you'll start excelling in subjects and realise this difficult schedule is all worth the effort.
Please forgive us for the questions. People are just curious.
That's the plan!
Our educational system is very hard Even for us too and as a foreigner seeing you trying your best, makes me motivated too to work hard as well,Never give up,Good things are on the way!!.

I can relate on the language barrier. It is not easy being in a roreign country at all. You just can't explain it enough. You seem like you fit in perfectly well at this moment though.
I have adapted pretty well

Language is very important when you move to any country . Schooling there with such a tight timetable most be difficult to get a student job.
It is very difficult, there is no time really, and even if you're to maybe take up online job your grades will suffer.
@@hilmaisrael u can do online tuition on same subject that you are studying, which helps you to focus on your studies and income.

Hi hilma :)….Accent you are talking about is “south indian accent”.. famous indian headshakes and english accent is actually south indian, this accent is not of whole of india, world needs to understand it now…, i understand your college / university is in south india… we north indians also find south indian accent little bit uneasy to understand…btw all the best with ur stay in india
Thank you, yes, I was talking about the South Indian accent
South Indians also feel weird towards north Indian accent....

@@Anmolnegi-yw7hg people in north india also shake their heads ha aur na karne ke liye kabhi mundi nahi hilayi kya
Funny how even as an Indian, I have also been in that position of 'I can't understand anything' because of the accent of my professor who was from a different region of India. I didn't even understand that the problem was the accent and felt really stupid at first, until I went to another classmate for help who was in an integrated program. She helped all of us who were not used to the accent until we got the hang of it. And almost 10 years later we are best friends.
Sorry for that🤣😂glad you are still friends with her, it wasn't in her place to help you but she did, that's Soo kind of her.
All the best Hilma
Thank you Jay
may be some people are like that, but u have to choose friends carefully, from india 🙏

Indians are different( generally not all)....they love to talk n curious to about everything...
Your all Problems aren't different coz Every Student can face n survive in different circumstances in new countries...

Thanks for the great video!❤ Did you style your own hair (like doing your braids) or you got your hair done by someone?
I used to braid my Hair myself. Although there were other Africans who could braid me at a price, I wasn't willing to pay so I would always do my Hair myself.

Shut up. You don't represent all indians.

Welcome to my India.

I mean the points you discussed is not just about India but any foreign country or even worse in Germany or EU you can't even survive without their regional language and obviously accent could be difficult or easy as per where you belong. Indeed our education system is really tough and it needs to be reformed but it is also the reason why Indian are well known for their academic achievements around the world. For us it's normal bc it been this way since childhood but i can understand difficulties faced by you guys with it.
Yeah, you are right. Thank you for the support
Being central University of tamilnadu in india i agree with you
It's very competitive in India education system, I m from India 🙂♥️
There was a girl in my class who used to get angry if I get higher marks than her in my class😂🤣🤣I don't understand the competition
When you start working, then you realise why did learn all those knowledge in engineering… with my own experience now I know why did I learn networking, programming, signals and system and IC designing and many more .. you have scope to chose any field from what you studied… now I know why there is vector mathematics when working in Computing… I studied in Pune university.. in 2013
Thank you😊 you're very much right, subjects are connected in one way or another
Ha ha its ok sis compared what we Indians study. My time table was 6 o clock tuition 8 o clock catch bus go school 9 to 3.30 school after that 5 to 7 again tuition back home study till 12.30 am or 1 am repeat for 15 years until u r graduated. 😁 only sunday holiday and we go for CAT MAT coaching. You guys are used to it😂🤣bit that is hectic
That is totally weird to ask someone who is from africa that if they know a person in same continent, its kind of idiotic.
Some people genuinely don't know that Africa is a continent, I have gotten that question a lot here. I don't blame them though

I can so relate
I would love more students from Africa come into india, study, live and work and understand the indian mindset. Indians can relate better to Africans than to the Europeans or Americans, probably because we have an original cultures, which were probably diluted due to western influences.
Getting in a job in India as a foreigner is quite difficult, it's doable but your population huge and citizens will always come first. But I have enjoyed my time when I was there. An Indian home is a hospitable home.

That's my most of big companies ceo are indians 🙂
I am also foreign student here in India. I've attended two Universities on both sides North India (Delhi University) and South India(Bangalore University).
Indian Education System is really tough, in External exams You have to write 34 pages, you have to have at least 75% attendance.
Indian Students are not that much open minded with foreign students.
And the reason some Africans get involved in illegal activities is because here in India foreign students are not allowed to work.
And you can't wear nice shoes and nice Clothes, they ask so many questions.
Thanks for sharing
You are very right,I had Soo much difficulty during my first semester, but not being able to work is not an excuse to involve oneself in illegal stuffs, you are the one who will suffer in the end.
