Sorry for your loss Brian 😢 You’re an excellent storyteller, probably what makes you such a good magician, and I’m loving this Podcast (for lack of a better word) for how professional it sounds, especially with the cool music! I hope you one day piece together the pieces of your brothers death and close that chapter someday soon enough.

Brian, I just wanted to say that I went through the same thing when my best friend passed a few years ago. I went piecing together events of what happened to my friend from the last time we spoke to events leading up to his passing just to know what was going through his head when it happened. Fortunately/unfortunately it was easy to gather information and put that horrible puzzle together based on messages he sent me, posts he made on facebook, and after that stories that is where it got horrible to read because certain events made the local small-town newspaper. Knowing what was going through his head was easy based on that and because of how well I knew him. I can tell you it sucks because the ending of his story sucks. But knowing what he went through helped bring me some amount of closure. It’s human to want to know what happened to our loved ones and those kinds of mysteries are what we feel compelled and driven to solve. I just wanted to say how this episode connected with me. Brilliant series. I’ll definitely be tuning in to rest! ❤
I dont know how many years I have been watching you Biran, probably around or more than a decade on and off. But every couple of months or so I'm magically swept back into your array of content that seems unending, yet it is. As we all are, but please, as long as you haven't yet ended, please, do not end this series, it might be the best thing I've ever let my ears take in thinking it would be a nice, radio style story based podcast, which it technically is, but it is so much more aswell. It defies being a background noise, it is so so so so capturing and entertaining I almost want to be lost on a raft or in the post apocalyptic "after world" with no goal but to receive this entertainment, take it in with the passage of time being my only destiny. Just the audio fade out in the intro is worthy of a best director award. This is something special, weirdly, where I can't put my finger on it but there's just something about it that is so magical. Probably you, and I'd be happy if it is, you deserve all the best for all your hard work and undeniable talent. Even if you might step yourself down from the pedestal proclaiming you're talentless as your humble self always has, your talen is you're hard work and sheer intelligence. I whish you and your family all the best, and if it doesn't hinder you please, never stop making more episodes in this series. Love from Bahrain.

"Still Alive" is from Portal, not Portal 2.
I'm so glad you guys are reuploading these all in one place, and I hate to be that guy, but is there a reason they are 720p? I really enjoy watching the video, even if it's just different shots of a tape recorder, and while it doesn't ruin the experience, it's at least noticeable for me. BTW the new season has been amazing so far!
I don't think Portal 2 is a great example. By the time the Moon appears, you are subjected to "controllable helplessness", such that shooting the Moon is literally all you can do, regardless of whether you make the moon rocks connection. You don't even need the presence of mind to shoot a portal under Wheatley first; it's already there, because you needed it to get to the Stalemate Resolution Button that triggered this cutscene in the first place. The game will even swap the portals for you if you shoot the wrong one at the Moon in the heat of the moment. The only way it could be more railroaded is if they didn't even let you push the button yourself.
It's a cool scene, and it's _exciting_ to realize you can shoot at the Moon; but unless you have very low standards it doesn't feel like your idea and it doesn't make you feel like a genius. I totally get what you were going for here, but Portal 2 isn't where it's at.
I think a much better example (though less exciting) is all the unnoticed player psychology in the first game. Like how they prompt you to look upwards when necessary by adding unusable ladders, which naturally draw your eye upwards to see where they lead. It _feels_ like you made your own choice to look up, but really they made it for you a long time ago, and even after the fifth time it happens you don't even notice that the environment is coaxing you to look up.
(I'm sure I know of an example that's as good as that while still being as important and exciting as a boss fight, but none are coming to me at the moment.)

Thing is, no one notices that on the first playthrough! The first time you go through it really is a magic trick! A magic trick in service of making you feel like a genius, rather than fooled, but a magic trick for sure.
