  • Part 1 - Join me as I drive from the house to Coolcaslagh, on the outskirts of Killarney, Co Kerry. We start from the house and turn left, continue on the single lane track cutting across the mountainous “roads”, which is the shorter choice of routes to get to Killarney. The only other route would be to turn right from the house, go down and into Macroom and then follow the N22 all the way to Killarney, however this route adds about 30 miles to the journey. We head towards a little village called Reananeree where there is one of the quaint primary schools so common to rural and isolated areas in Ireland. From here we turn left and cut across and down towards Ballyvourney & Ballymakeera where we join the main N22 road which joins Cork to Macroom and Killarney.
Part 1 finishes here, but please join me for part 2 where we continue towards Killarney, the waste and recycling site and tesco! Exciting life I lead!!
Please excuse the slightly odd viewing angle - I had the lens of the dash cam a touch too high and to the right, so you see a part of the shaded windscreen behind the rear view mirror and the “fish eye” effect of the windscreen to the upper right.

And I hear that they are going to charge by weight for bins again, so the fly tipping will start again, I lived in Drinagh, I am sure you know it, once again this was nice to watch, thank you

Mike, Watching the video, I wondered what would happen if you met someone coming in the other direction and was not disappointed to see the postman reverse and pull to the side to allow you to pass....The landscape view at mid video is lovely. That is very kind of you to stay back from the tractor and not pressure the driver to get out of your way as some people would. I finally got to see one of the stone fences that I read are all over Ireland just before you get to Ballyvourney. Nice trip and thanks for the ride. Enjoyed it. Fran

Haha! Good one Malc - that wasn't "waste"-d on me :)) When it is nice here it IS nice, but when it is not, it is HORRID! Glad you enjoyed it. It was actually you that gave me the idea of attempting these sort of video's, but I still find it hard to be as relaxed as you.

You come across great Mike. No really you do. Could easily be a boring video, but your commentary makes it interesting. Really enjoyed this one.
