This channel is a hidden gem. I do not ride MTBs at this level but I can say this all are absolute true for riding trails motorcycles. We use to say "The bike tends to end up were you looking at, so keep your eyes ahead on the trail". Thank you guys! Amazing content and a very good vibe.
Oh man what a great complement! Yeah, I'd say this is even MORE important on a motorcycle. I 100% agree with your quote here! We appreciate you for being here! Look forward to seeing you on other videos as well.
This quote couldn't be more true, years ago I hit a tree at full speed on the trail & the reason for it was it was what I was focused on coming out of the corner! It's wild how powerful vision ends up being regardless of how we're recreating. Thank YOU for the kind words - means the world. All love! -Mike
A good reminder for sure-this is something that I always forget to focus on, and it makes such a big difference when I remember to look ahead again. Thanks for being here! We'll see you in that cornering video soon.
Absolutely! It's such a good thing to keep in mind-Mike's statement at the end is so true: if you feel like you're riding poorly, checking in to make sure you're looking ahead far enough is always a good first thing to evaluate. Thanks for joining us! Hope to see you again soon.
i've considered heads-up riding the #1 tip for a while now -- cool to see you guys saying the same thing! most of the time when i find something difficult (especially a berm or a skinny) i give it another try making sure to look past it and it goes much better. curious to see how you'll approach cornering! i like to take in multiple explanations / instructions and put together the pieces that make the most sense to my brain
Stoked we're on the same page!! It's kinda funny how that works, isn't it? Something so simple is so easy to overlook or forget about! Cornering has been one we've been planning in the background for a bit - like most skills, I think it's easily overcomplicated & we want to keep it as simple as it can be! I think it's wise to take in multiple variations, everyone learns differently; even if 2 tutorials say the same thing in different ways it'll click differently for different people! All love, -Mike
Very cool 😎 and helpful video ❤. Even dh World Cup racers say look ahead and look up ⬆️ good for Mtb and life! Keep 🤔 about roller coaster 🎢 of love song while watching lo😂
great topic! looking ahead is something i was experimenting with just yesterday. generally, i got better in technique climbing and decending in technical terrain, but something was still missing. i do have good balance, i know bunny hops, manuals, wheelies, endo turns, some basic trial skills but my buddys which dont have these skills are always faster a they ride smoother (im sure its the wheel size, im riding only 27,5). im kidding, i saw on some of my video footages that the main mistake i make is that im not looking far enough. like a said, a was experimenting with that last weekennd and made a great progress. i was trying to spot the exit as soon as possible and that helped a lot! thanks!
Stoked you were playing around with this!! Having all the bike skills that your buddies don't paired with looking ahead & finding the flow on the trail will make you an all out shredding machine!! Enjoy amigo. -Mike
Nice video guys! Vision is a big deal. I am constantly reminding myself to look as far down the trail as I can descending and several bikes ahead climbing PS: let me know when Sr is in town, would love to meet and ride
Good stuff!! It's something that can easily be forgotten, for sure! Will do! We have a big trip coming up in a week or so but once we get back he should be around the Longmont area quite a bit.
@@thereignofthezero225 ah no kidding!? My dad has ridden down there a bit but I never have; I’d love to check it out though! Would be dope to run into you!
@JoyOfBike yeah it's a nice spot if you want to take a 20 mile ride. Nothing technical, but still fun. You got the little waterfall back there, too, which is pretty cool
@@JoyOfBike Definitely! What what?! OMG, AZ is amazing! Gilbert (Phx) area, my “home” is Hawes, which has funky rocky stuff that reminds me of your vid, as well as flowy stuff, highly tech stuff, and jump trails, all in the same system! 😎😀
Good video, but I think you mean Actual "Sight." This refers to the power of seeing and vision. "Site" refers to an area of ground. It's probably not worth redoing and uploading again, but just something to keep in mind for future videos. Have a good one.

haha, I hear ya! Climbing is definitely the least 'fun' part of the ride but over the years, the better I've gotten a tit the more fun I seem to have doing it...but it's never more fun than going down, that's for sure! All love, -Mike
Just wanted to say thank you for keeping the vibe of Joy of Bike alive!

The vibe wouldn't be the same without Joyriders like you showing up consistently, so we appreciate the love! Thanks for joining us!

My ride group (both in Trials and in MTB) always say look towards freedom for this concept.
I sometimes keep saying it loudly while riding “look ahead” 😂 … and yes please cornering video 🙌
It helps so much, doesn't it?! Right on - we'll get on a conrnering video SOON!!
Verbal queues are always helpful! Thanks for sharing that!
Love me a good cornering video, throw one up. This video has been a good reminder of what we should be doing

“What if I told you” “one simple trick” “ultimate hack” it just sounds like cheap click bait. This channel is no longer for me
The whole thing could be summed up by : your head is a gimbal.
