How to fix PS4 Safe Mode Loop and upgrade to SSD drive

- This is how I was able to fix PS4 safe mode loop by replacing the hard drive. I will also show you how to replace hard drive to SDD.

Finally the right way to get rid of this safe mode loop. I have tried every option in safe mode but It still boots up in safe mode after several restarts or when I power down and try again next morning.

Did you run into the safe mode loop again after this? Did you encounter any issues? Was it a Hard drive issue? I'm sitting in the same boat as you so if this works, and is a hard drive issue I can also take these steps, just looking for some clarity
I think it automatically run into safe mode to install the software
In my case it's a hard drive issue. I did all the steps in the safe mode options but nothing works. Actually it's my friends PS4, so far no complaint ms at all.
Btw, you need usb drive installer

Wait I have a question, so how long you had your PS4 for? I’ve had mines for 5-6 years, what if I never opened my hard drive port and switched one but I still have the same one?

Hey man I put my old hard drive into a new PS4 but the safe mode thing comes up and if I do the second last option would I loose all my data in my games

So if I install the new hard drive can I go to the safe mode menu and just factory reset (option 7)? Without a thumbdrive
I don't think so. You need to install the software to the new hard drive. You'll diwnload and save the software to the thumbdrive.

My intalize load up to 99 then stops should I change the hard drive and use the update file on it
I don't want to give definite answer, your case might not be the same as mine. But you may take the risk of changing the hd like I did. Goodluck
I just bought a ssd replacement 1t and don't have a PC to to go through I'm about to try this my last resort
I’ve got this exact same problem. I banged my PS4 right on top of the PS4 and it’s making like a clicking noise. I’ve tried every single safe mode option and it don’t work. Shall I get a new hard drive and re try the same process of installing version 7.02?
I've tried all options too for days before deciding to replace the hard drive. But instead of buying mechanical drive I choose to upgrade to a fast and reliable SSD drive. Everything worked fine till now.

So I’ve had the issue for a while changed my hard drive it was okay for about a month I had all my games and data on an external hard drive an was doing a reinstall every day when I wanted to play or even watch Netflixs, if I change my hard drive again should I just stop using the external?

Regarding the external drive, I cannot comment on this because I have no experience using external drive.

Replacing the hard drive was my last option and it worked for me. I've watched several youtubers did the same before I tried this.

Yes because the old drive is not working and I need to change it.

The one I installed is a SSD drive. Different hard drive has different specs and prices

My PS4 is stuck in the for loop but I’m looking for a more complicated fix... I want the saved data off the hard drive. I am going to Best Buy/GeekSquad to see if they can extract the data and transfer it onto an external hard drive... so I can do this reboot.
*I don’t want to lose the data as I’m not even sure the hard drive is the issue with my ps4.

Yes, you will loose your data when formatting your drive. You may watch other PS4 videos on how to back up or transfer your data.

Look this thing happened to me before 3 days and i saw the youtube and i did all the option but nothing works like it does finish the downloading but it goes to the same thing safe mode so i decided to go to a store which they fix ps4 they told me that this will cost you 150$ i told them no thank you and right now it’s quarantine and iam so bored without the ps4 what do you recommend me to do
@@iqfifa1063 Looks like a hard drive issue to me. Try replacing the hard drive like I did then install PS4 software.
