Black Spot Removal on Mantles Aladdin & Coleman

I was able to use a butane lighter to remove the black carbon on this mantle. The lighters are wind resistant with the flexible ends. As you see, it works well to burn off the carbon from the mantle. After your lamp is properly set up and the flame spreader is tweaked and wick is trimmed, this would eventually burn off on its own during normal operation.
