    Was it difficult tuning the factory ECU? Im interested in boosting my Corolla didnt know there was other options other than stand alone Haltech or AEM piggyback.

    Have you heard about swapping the 2gr-fe V6 from 2006-2011 Camry and a manual transmission from the 1st gen Scion tC?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I have seen people do it in the 9th gen corollas. But never the 10th gen. But that would be an awesome build!

    Hey with the borla exhaust for the toyota, is it bettter welded on? i payed $100 for its bolted clamped on and kinda wish i went with welded for $250

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Před 4 měsíci

      Bolting it on is great if you plan on removing it and changing it in the future. But if you want to make it permanent, welding would be better!

    When it lags when you stomp on it, perhaps a high capacity fuel pump?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I don’t think it is because the with piggy back ecu I did not have this problem.

    Im getting ready to install the same kit in my 2010 Matrix. Why did you get rid of the aem f/ic controller?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Před 4 měsíci +1

      That awesome! And I wanted to tune the factory ECU. 1. Because tuning the factory ECU you can get more power, because they change more than just fuel and air. They can change timing and usually get a better tune. 2. It gets rid of the messy wire harness and makes the engine bay much cleaner.

      @@BrandonStellmach thanks for getting back to me. That makes a lot of sense. I'll have to see if I can find anyone near that's able to tune a factory Toyota ECU. Thanks for taking us along on your journey. It has definitely been helpful to watch before I tackle my install.

    For misfire codes, have you tried to replace the emission canister?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I will have to take a look at that, but I never got any codes for that.

      Respray the paint on the car? If so, maybe I might vinyl wrap it!

    Take your time with the car man. I'd get the tune figured out before doing pretty much anything else. One mod at a time.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Před 4 měsíci

      Definitely have been! Plan to get the new clutch and flywheel on soon, and get a new tune. I think my clutch slipping on the last dyno run is what caused all the issues I am having. He wasn’t able to tune properly.

    Brother I want you to buy Toyota Corolla 1.8L CVT and install Turbo... then you will enjoyed Alot...
    I think right now, you are having 220HP
    IN CVT you will have 250 to 260HP... I am pretty sure you get good experience 🥰

    • @raiderznation
      @raiderznation Před 4 měsíci

      I think there would be more drivetrain loss in a cvt compared to a manual so you'd probably get less horsepower.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I have seen someone else put a turbo on the CVT transmission. I believe they got to around 200 WHP before the trans started to the slip. The 4 speed automatic can actually hold up to more power. Close to around 250-260 with a decent trans.

  • @justinmike2zrfe
    @justinmike2zrfe Před 4 měsíci

    Bro.....no no no no regap them to .22

    • @justinmike2zrfe
      @justinmike2zrfe Před 4 měsíci

      Please do not gap them stock....the stock ECU doesn't know what gap they are thats why it's misfiring!!! Damnit I wish I would've saw this before now. Also clutchmasters kit for your car is 200 with a stage 3 clutch and lightweight flywheel..I ran .22 on my plugs btw before and after Dyno never had a misfiring issue

    • @justinmike2zrfe
      @justinmike2zrfe Před 4 měsíci +1

      With a stock gap size the spark doesn't have time to fully ignite all the fuel...hence why your so rich on the exit reading out of the afr sensor. Please bro if you've ever listened to me listen to this...regap them reset the battery, leave off for the time it takes to REGAP THE PLUGS on everything i ran .22 gap with stock ECU tune from toyota and it ran fine and do this your misfire will disappear. Ruben wasn't going to say anything bc he thinks you would have already known to do that! That's why the piggy back tells you to do it that size bc of your simply making boost not dependent on what computer your running. Do this and report back and watch

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The ones I took out of the car were at the .022 gap. One reason I put in new ones because I think I might of broke the tip on those spark plugs trying to gap them. I need to buy a better tool that I can regap them without breaking the point on them. But so far with the new spark plugs I have not got any misfires yet.
      But I needed up buying a monkey wrench racing lightweight flywheel. And a Spec stage 3+ clutch. Will definitely be putting it in the car soon.
