    I have a 48" OLED C1 and its the best purchase I've made for my PC. It's absolutely amazing if you do any type of production work. I wanted to post this because the reviewer talked about how the screen was too big and that when he'd leave his desk, he'd rub his eyes and that he probably needed to refocus. I had similar issues and probably the biggest issue was that i had to turn my head from side to side to roam the screen which was very annoying at first. I've been using it for about 2 years now and all of that has changed. It's actually pretty insane how we adapt to our environment. The screen doesn't look big at all now and my eyes have completely adjusted that I can roam the entire 48" panel without having to move my head at all. It's actually quite amazing when you think about it.

    LG really needs to get this panel into a 32". It would be gaming gold. I'm perfectly happy with my LG CX 48", but I don't really use it for PC use. Occasionally I will use it for PC gaming, running single player games, but it's mostly for movies, tv content and PS5. It is just too big to sit in front of for hours at a time. A 32" OLED, with a big heatsink to increase brightness and reduce burn in would be perfect.

      @@jaysweeney9279 If you are getting an oled TV (cx, c1, c2 etc) for mostly content consumption, then you can't really go wrong. Choose the best size for your needs, wait for a good deal/sale and go for it. Just don't use it for a monitor if you want to avoid burn in, or just be very careful with static images. This is why I currently use an ips as a main. Hopefully with time the burn in issue can be mitigated. I use my oled for mostly TV shows, anime, movies and ps5, not much pc, and have had no issues with burn in over the year I've used it. Wide-screen is better purely for wide-screen gaming and productivity that needs wide-screen, not really great from what I've seen with content like movies, TV's etc made for different res/ratio

    Thank you for this honest review. As you state, it is a matter of preference if people want a big screen. As for getting nauseous when sitting close, that is a real thing, but not something I suffer from; I want the immersion. I currently have PHL BDM4350UC 43.5” LED monitor, and I would love to get higher refresh rates and HDR support, all of which the reviewed monitor gives. However, the deal breaker is the dimming of whites, as I use it for multiple tasks, one being photo editing.
    I previously bought the PHL 436M6VBPAB as it had HDR, but it is not for desktop use, due to the screen door effect at close range.
    So, thank you for helping me avoid buying this - much appreciated!

    I believe the panel makers prefer the larger sizes as they are easier to produce.
    Gamers prefer smaller sizes (42" at the most, probably 38" would be ideal) - they are more suited to being used on a desk, it's easier to see the UI at the edges of the monitor, and they'd have higher DPI for text clarity and mouse movement.
    Once we get OLED in that smaller size and with ways of reducing or eliminating burn-in without affecting our viewing experience, there will be a flood of purchases.
    For now though, it feels like the panel manufacturers are struggling to find a combination that they would be willing to sell and that gamers want.
    I believe there are lots of new OLED models coming out over the next few months.
    One feature I like about the C2 is being able to set custom resolutions. I hope to see this feature become more widely used and more advanced.

    For some, the DisplayPort connection is worth the extra money. That's the only way you'll get 4k120hz from an M1 Mac on this panel.

    3 things people miss with massive monitors/TV's . 1. Always wall mount it so it's higher. 2. Max your field of view out in your game. 3. Turn your dpi up in windows to something like 150. With those it's absolutely everything you would want. I use a 45" daily

    All the specs I can find say the response time is 0.1ms, when most competing game monitors are 1.0ms. Is this monitor really 0.1ms, and would that make any differnece on a game consol like the PS5?

  • @samgao

    Would’ve been perfect if I didn’t purchase my C1 to replace my gigabyte fo48u oled. I’m still annoyed at the non-monitor features I’ve been spoiled with.

    • @JPTBradbury
      @JPTBradbury Před rokem

      why'd you replace the FO48U?? i love mine for the value for money, no BFI at 60fps, and only 24gbps so 4:2:0 without DSC..

    • @samgao
      @samgao Před rokem

      @@JPTBradbury my FO48U had a broken control pod on the bottom, but I loved it for its 120hz over hdmi 2.1 on my PS5 and PC. Monitor shuts off every time when you turn off the signal was the icing on the cake. But they didn’t have a replacement stock for 3 months so I bought a C1. Quality is negligible and I can’t even see the difference between Dolby vision and the gigabyte oled.
      My only gripe was how slow the controls were with the OSD.

Believe it or not you waring glasses can play a part in this. Got a 43" desktop Aorus and no eye problems no neck. About to build my first ever pc build. On the topic of upgrading, I think I want the newest generation of cpu (maybe gpu?) because I dont want to have to upgrade in a couple years to play games that come out in the near future. Should I get something for the new Ryzen series? I play Warzone (currently on ps5) and I'm a serious player. The other thing is I want to do music production (and maybe make youtube videos in the future). For music, RAM and a lot of fast ssd is important, but higher core count isn't necessarily important, nor is gpu but I need that for Warzone. I'm thinking 8 cores, but I'm not an expert on this stuff. I have a pretty high budget for this and I don't care about RGB. Any advice on what to get? Thanks in advance!

    Glad i watched this review... This panel is on sale at Best Buy for $699... but I think I'm gonna pass and just see if I can grab a sweet deal on a C3 or a used C2 since I really want a TV replacement that can double as a monitor for single player games, but this really seems more like a TV that wants to be a monitor, but isn't really either.
