Tboli also Tau Bilil, Tau Bulul or Tagabilil, is an Austronesian language spoken in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao, mainly in the province of South Cotabato but also in the neighboring provinces of Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani. According to the Philippine Census from 2000, close to 100,000 Filipinos identified T'boli or Tagabili as their native language.

Tboli is Austronesian, but their language sound like Austroasiatic, like those in Thailand or Vietnam tribes, or maybe they are later migrants from Yunnan, Southern China.

Yes it sounds peculiar but upon closer inspection, it's actually a Philippine language. Their isolation in the mountains may have played a part, perhaps it evolved independently for hundreds of years

there's a video on tboli weavers with women speaking in pure tboli. It sounds so much like any Mainland Southeast asian language one would not think it was a Philippine language.

You should see the Micronesian languages. They're Austronesian, but they evolved away from "lima".

Latin Script pa rin.

Tboli doesn't have writing scripts. Don't forget that baybayin is only to the Mainland Tagalog not the whole Philippines. There are many writing scripts in the Philippines, if Tboli is using baybayin then what about the visayans that uses Badlit writing script? Tagalogs would pass visayas first if their influence to the Southern Mindanao was that widespread, why not badlit instead? The biggest misconception is that everyone just assume baybayin as the writing script of the whole Philippine islands where in fact there wasn't a country concept or the Philippines at that time, Baybayin was used only to those who lived near the Pasig river where Tagalogs were living near at (Taga Ilog).

​@@dasigkatama029 sinaunang panahon Ang tawag sa salita ng mga taga panay ay haraya. Hindi Yan Bisaya Ang salita nila, dahil laging may hyphenated to differentiate na Bisaya - haraya from the mainstream Bisaya. Tignan mo mga lumang dictionaries nila sa panahon Ng mga kastila.
