MB is one of our staff but this is DD speaking now! Sorry for any confusion this may have caused. I would not pay extra for the Proheat as it is isn't truly heat! The regular LG is the way to go for the price. Yes, we have had 50/50 split in quality control issues (I think I am just unlucky) but with how easy Amazon returns are just make sure you try your unit out before the window closes! Also not a bad idea to register for the warranty with Bissell. I can recommend these cleaners because if you get one that works they are FANTASTIC. Ours has the leak problem as well and as we were cleaning a "dog stain" it sprayed the stain everywhere making the problem worse
Oh no that is terrible! Thankfully we did not have the stain spraying issue but the leak caused us to return it!

Probably a manufacturing defect my new unit started leaking also after three uses the duck bill gasket doesn't lay correctly
