Ronaldo is considered as an alright forward and Messi is seen as around the top 20, you currently have people like Erling Haaland, Lewandowski, Rashford and Benzema for perhaps another year. When you said Ronaldo had a higher peak I laughed so hard. There is no player in the history of the game who can touch Messi from 2010/2011, the highest level of a footballer I've seen. His 2012 numbers were better than the 2010/2011 season but the level of play in 2010/2011 was just unstoppable and unplayable, nobody comes close to that Messi, his acceleration in the first 10 meters and how he destabilized whole defenses on his own is unmatched to anyone.

I will always use basketball to explain these things. Ronaldo in his best year scored 73 goals. That, for a footballer, is the equivalent of scoring 100 points in a basketball game. Something only Wilt Chamberlain would do. Normally, a great striker would score 20 goals a season and it would be considered a good season. Imagine Messi scoring 73. It's absolutely insane.

I think it's fair to say that Ronaldo is in contention for the best human to ever play the game, he's got the numbers and the career to prove it, it's not that crazy to compare him with Pelé or other greats like Maradona or Cruyff. Messi on the other hand is not human, it's just not fair to compare him with the rest, he is on a different level. To answer some of your questions: Messi was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency when he was 10 and the local teams in Argentina weren’t willing to pay for his treatment as it was very expensive ($1000 per month), however a scout for Barcelona saw Messi play in Argentina and convinced the club to pay for his medical treatment as everyone could see he was a prodigy. The treatment was successful and Messi is now 5ft 7”- perfect height for a footballer 😉
As others have mentioned Ronaldo is a great player and he is almost a pure striker, same with Haarland however Messi is a playmaker with a great goal scoring ability as well.

Mbappe and Haaland are the current/present generation of footballers. If I'm not mistaken, Mbappe's name became famous around 2017 or 2018 and Haaland around 2019 or 2020. Meanwhile, Messi in 2007 was able to be included in the top three nominations for the Ballon d'Or (best soccer player award). and messi won his first ballon d'or in 2009. messi, when he was the same age as current mbappe & haaland, he already won the ballon d'or. Messi was already a great footballer around 2007 and even in the current era he is still one of the great footballer and is able to compete with young players like Mbappe and Haaland. so in my opinion mbappe and haaland don't deserve to be compared with messi. The 4 footballers who are often touted and compared as the best football players of all time are Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pele, Diego Maradona. Mbappe and Haaland might be their successors if they both maintain their best form over the years.

A PK is a penalty kick, where the kicker kicks the ball from the penalty spot, and there's only the goalkeeper to beat. The highlights that were shown are of Free Kicks, which are usually taken outside of the penalty area (from pretty far), whereby the defenders try their best to protect the goal, (including forming a wall of players). If you had to define modern football, you have to choose Messi, because he has almost everything that football has to offer on personal levels as well as on accolades.
For many years people's says he has not done any special things for his country, but last two years he won two most prestigious championship with his country, which kinda like Hollywood staff's considering his age 35-36.

Messi is in his own world, no one is close to him. He has already been statistically the greatest for many years and the only thing that kept people from saying he's the best of all time was that he hadn't won the world cup, which some of the greats in the past did. Messi born in Rosario , he was having a grown probalem , and he try to get medical assistance from team in argentina , but was expensive and he was still a kid , no team was able to grab the entire "problem" , some how , a man that look for players for barcelona , invited him to to try luck in the club. there is videos of his life that explain everything . in Barcelona he try but still was a doubt from the club to sing him in (and take care of the medical shoots he need ). and almost at the end of the trip , he was in a bar with this man (the man that brought him to try in barcelona) , and despite all barcelona words about not be sure of sing him in , that man sign in a NAPKIN , a sort of contract saying , no matter what barcelona is saying i will make a contract with Messi. This debate isn't as heated as it was before. And there were two reasons why it was so heated. One, they played at the same time in the biggest rivalry in the history of football, and scored astronomical number of goals. Second Ronaldo won back to back champions leages while messi was losing back to back international finals. This made the debate heated bcs two sides had a lot of legitimate arguments. At this point in time tho, messi won everything he can in football and ronaldo only has the most goals title for his name. He has a great legacy of course but messis is objectively greater

Messi is also a much better passer, better teammate, etc. Messi can control a game without scoring, but then he's also maybe the best goal scorer ever. Ronaldo is a great player, but he's not on Messi's level.
