I like very much the welded aspect of the junction of the handle with the mug that is visible in the image of your video.
But I don't see it in any part of video.
    Isn't it a Freecad feature?
    Thanks in advance.

Face binder after input of text by shape string in draft workbench, then transform the face bind text string to sketch workbench.Going back to part design & click on the curve surface, press the icon of map sketch on face.In curve workbench, pressing the text sketch icon in model will result in shifting to sketcher workbench, then pressing' construction transformation ,selection icon' & selecting the text consequently,by closing the task shift back to curve workbench. Finally, selecting curve surface & text sketch then press map sketch on surface gives the result.Amending the data in table for intended size & direction of this text can finish the job.

2:40, padding 2D offset is no longer working in 0.19, you have to use extrude in Part workbench.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but when I try to use project sketch in curves workbench it has sketch_on_surface but with an error and I do not see the projected surface. I also did the blue box with no luck.

At 6:55, there "Reverse V" is selected in the "Touchup" section. I do not have this "Touchup" in the property view panel. Would you know how to enable it? (I'm using version 18.4, and just loaded 0.19 and it is still not there). Thank you for this very helpful video!

I was able to make it work now. I tried to create a bowl like a cone with slanted walls and I guess FreeCAD didn't like that. There are probably more steps involved.

No just select in the left side the things you want to be in the step file hold down the ctrl key while you're doing it. Then select export to stl in file menu. Best regards mads😜🇩🇰

@@madslethdanielsen2099 Thank you. As I have no printer, I must send my jobs to a vendor via email as a single file exported from FreeCAD. I now believe exporting via 3MF is the way to do this. I need to print white embossed letters inside a black material via a single importable file for my vendor. This is my difficult goal.

Hi Mads, I finally got it. I am not sure what did it but I think it was the order in which I had selected the sketch versus the surface on the curves workbench. I also downloaded the latest build going from 19.23463 to19.23546 but I don't know if that was it as it was still newer than the version you used. Thank you again for the video.

I've tried this approach and the funny thing is, when I export it to STL, the text won't go along with the conversion. It's just the cup without the text. What did I miss?

I gave up - I'm not sure if what I did is 'best practice', but I just went to Part workbench and do a "Make a union of several shapes". That solved my dilemma. :-D

Hi Mads, thanks for this video! I'm making a camera filter adapter (shape is like two different size nuts stacked on top of each other), I'm using the spreadsheet to make it parameterized. I have it working such that the model resizes when I adjust the spreadsheet.AdapterSize value; I thought it might be nice if I could emboss the size of the adapter onto its side along it's outer top ring in the same manner as filters and lenses do... As the text is dynamic (it could be "49mm" or "52mm" depending on the AdapterSize value), I don't think the approach of converting a ShapeString into shapes would work would it? Was wondering if you might know of another way? If not, no biggie. The model I'm using is here (forum.freecadweb.org/download/file.php?id=157530), should you want to check it out. Cheers!
