You still don't understand why they can barely put anyone on the Supercar insurance even though its been mentioned so many times in videos & why they can't even add Mark on it. Its another reason why he couldn't put his Daughters Lambo on it either...
The people they allow to drive the cars in the videos can afford to replace or fix them which is different but they not covered by the insurance if something happened( MrJWW, NiC, Skinny)

Racing is alot on the mental stack for a driver. You can see Dave turn the gears of his mind as Mike talks the basics of technique.
I'm always learning something from Mike, really explains things so clearly, I could listen to him explain all the technical stuff about driving a car like a pro.

Firstly, having Mike explain trail braking and having Damon explain using the previous tracks as demo was really easy to understand. Can't for a track day when I can try and apply it. Secondly, the Bday bit was so wholesome 👍

DDE probably hired him on X with low expectations - just an extra set of hands for Mike. But he has grown and developed into a valuable asset going above and beyond with hours, attitude and turning into a screen talent/character. He’s delivered more than expectations and he’s out of his first year so he deserves a little bump. Especially at his Jr level.
If you’re comparing this to the Mike Essa debate over pay that’s different as he’s climbed the ladder. Bumps are bigger and less frequent at the top unfortunately.

Gotta say I'm more of a fan of Group B Rally than track racing. I still gotta buy a steering wheel setup for Dirt Rally 2.0 (it's still super fun playing keyboard). Yea Pikes Peak used to be a dirt road race before it got paved too rip. If it's pavement gotta keep it sliding sideways with drifts.
Cayman track cars are perfect and I see them online starting around 40k. Perfect idea Mike.
Dave needs an MX5 Miata, great cars on track with no power. It will teach him to drive, Mike and Tim can turbo and tune the shit out of it. Cheap as dirt for the channel and will make money, plus seeing Dave’s head sticking 6 inches above the windshield would be great fun 😂

Yeah, and that the thing.... the exotics are not beginner friendly (usually). Those racing sports cars tend to be build to purpose, and are some serious kit to race in. Granted when you are doing WEC/WSC on serious racetracks.... you can't do half-ass but the gulf between the road going variant and the race car is rather noticeable.
Damon did mention wanting a 4 rotor... would a 4 rotor widebody ND MX-5 be exotic enough? 😂

If you guys want ideas about how to capture footage on track days I recommend checking out some of Jimmy Broadbent's irl track day content. The camera set up, finding recording points on the track, POV shots, helmet cams, the whole shabang.
