    Thank you so very much for this video mate. I serviced my car a couple days ago myself and then had the check engine light and the glow plug light flashing. I was wondering what went wrong, and after watching your video I realised that the air filter sensor harness had come off when I was installing the filter. I forgot to put it back in place. I was watching this at 2 AM and then went to my car, reconnected the harness back again and VOILA! The lights disappeared! I must say this is the best video in you tube that gives clear explanation on how to do a normal service for VAG cars. I own a Polo GT TDI and I am an auto enthusiast and I would want to do my service myself. My car has clocked 1,10,000 kms so far, and it's due for its next service and after watching this video I think I want to give it a try myself in servicing my car. A big thumbs up for sharing the video. Pls continue to post more. You are the best!
    Few suggestions:
    I am from South India I do not understand Hindi well. Could you please add subtitles or make the videos in English for better understanding. I must also say your communication skills are very good and your pronounciation shows you could be from an engineering background.
    If you could also speak a little louder as the voice isn't much louder. It is audible and adequate but if you are a little louder it would just make the video perfect. I know you could do better if you have the proper gears to record this video assuming you are recording this on your mobile..
    Your help needed:
    Where can I source VW genuine products here in South India I stay in Coimbatore. Asking you this question in case if you any contacts who can source them it will be very helpful.
    Unlike others, not even once have you requested us to like this video or subscribe to your channel or the post notifications which blew my mind. I will say this honestly this particular video's content is super helpful and so I have liked this vidoe gave it a thumbs up. Subscribed to your channel and turned on post notifications so that I won't miss any of your up coming videos.. sharing it with my friends who owns VAG cars.

    LIked the video buddy.
    Would like to suggest one thing regarding the oil filter.
    Wrong step at 13:20 , dont just drop the filter into socket.
    Oil filter should be first clicked onto the filter cap with the rod, and then placed into the engine.
    This will ensure the filter is properly stuck to the rod of the filter cap, and the o ring can do its sealing job correctly.
    When you remove the filter cap, ideally the filter also should come up along with the cap. This is an indication that the filter is placed correctly in previous service.
    It is also a good idea to soak the filter, in case your service take more than 2 hours.

    Thanks for sharing these steps. Very helpful DIY steps. If right tools and right parts are acquired, this video is definitely helpful. One query though. I recently changed coolant for ameo diesel, at VW service station, and they used G-13 (costing 443 Rs for 1.5 L can). G-13 is pre-mixed with coolant and water, and so we don't need to add any water. In total, 4 L G-13 was used after completely flushing the old coolant. Even owner manual suggests use of G-13 coolant, however you mentioned using G-12. Any difference ?
    One quick suggestion. Please use hand gloves to ensure safety. Thanks

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 4 lety

      Sir now newer vehicles use g13 , mine is 2014 and it recommends g12
      And the one i bought was concentrated so i had to mix distilled water in to make a mix , it doesn't affect if its pre-mix or concentrate g13 is just a successor of g12 , not much difference , both are based on ethelene glycol with some minor changes in cleaning ability and heat handling abilities

      Sir TDi is a diesel powertrain and TSi is a petrol powertrain
      Tdi has alot of grunt from 1600 to almost 4000 rpm and gin TSi the real power comes after 4,500 rpm and after thats its quite a lot of fun but it has a dsg transmission as compared to TDi which has a manual , advantage and disadvantage of petrol and diesel remains same for every engine nomatter from which brand it is ,
      So crux is
      If you like that " punch in the face " feeling then go for diesel and if you like having comfort in city driving then petrol is the one , you can rev the diesel as well
      It goes all the way upto 5500rpm ( one of few diesel engines which are capable of revving so high ) .

    Sir I have flushed my skoda rapid 1.6 L tdi and put glysentin 30 concentrate just 1 L and 1 L distilled water after 4-5 times water flush but the level in reservoir is max mark with two litre. Also in every water flush it takes only 2 L of water.is it ok or some problem is there in radiator. I drained from plug shown by you in the video. Happy to hear that you got confidence after watching my video .
      The cooling system is designed in a way that it doesn't completely allow to drain itself untill the bottom hoze on the radiator is disconnected , it somehow still holds around 1.5-2.0 ltrs of coolant inside the system. So putting 2 ltrs of new coolant concentrate in the reservoir is totally fine.
      Go ahead and do the service as well ,

    I am looking for vw vento 1.6tdi

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 4 lety +1

      Sir,
      Vw 1.2 , 1.5 , 1.6 and 2.0 tdi engines use oil which confirms to the vw 505.01 oil specification of oil and in our country there are only few oils which meets this requirement
      1. castrol edge ( dex² version)
      2. Liqui moly toptec 4100
      3 motul x-clean 8100 ( very tough to source)
      Shell helix ultra doesn't fulfill the criteria of 505.01 . It fulfills the older criteria of vw 505 but can be used if now 505.01 oil is available
      In case of unavailability vw505 is still better than others
      These criteria of oil is decided upon the mix of friction modifier , detergent properties , heat handling ability , pressure handling abilities, stability and maintaining the lubricity over long oil change durations .
      Hope I cleared your doubt and answered the question 😊
      Hope it helps 👍👍👍

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 4 lety +1

      Sir vw tdi are known to consume engine oil by design so its not an issue , just keep an eye over the oil pressure light on your dash cluster , if oil is below the minimum mark on dipstick you still have close to 3.5. 3.7 ltrs .

      Sir yes , oil filter is supposed to get change along with engine oil and on tdi fuel filter is also supposed to be changed on every service , as the injectors are quite sensitive to the quality of fuel , we definitely don't want an injector to fail due to failure of filtration, my advise is to spend 2k on fuel filter every year rather than paying close to 25k / injector to vw .

    Kudos for the video. I can't fully understand hindi. Let me tell you what I understood from your video about coolant flushing.correct me if I'm wrong.
    - unscrew the draining bolt and drain the coolant completely with the coolant filler cap loosened.
    -fit the drain bolt back in position, fill the coolant reservoir with 100% distilled water (4 litres approx).
    -start and idle the car for 5 minutes.
    -drain the coolant(distilled water) again.
    -repeat the process for a couple of times, if needed.
    -finally, fill with 50%coolant(2ltrs) and 50% distilled water(2ltrs) mixed together. Total 4 litres.
    -------
    Also, i have a few questions.
    -is it ok to start the engine with 100% distilled water inside the radiator?
    -should i do it with a cold engine or warm engine?

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 5 lety +1

      Sir oil drain bolt has a soft metal gasket ,
      And using diesel in oil is just for flushing out carbon which settle down and doesn't come out with oil , diesel has the lowest chances of harming the engine internals as till the end of your service interval engine oil inside your engine gets diluted with diesel upto 10%
      And as the diesel also have lubricating properties it reduces the chances of harming engine even more low

      Dear Sir, Namaskar
      Liquimoly, Wurth, STP, & Castrol Companies are supplying Engine flush Oils.
      they are very low cost, and Effective in removing Sludge, Soot & Metal particles from Engine (Oil Sump)
      Using Diesel is very cheap, I agree, but when better Flush oils are available, why should we compromise 🙏

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 2 lety +1

      Sir on first place , if you maintain your car well , change oil on time , then there is no need of flushing it on the first place , flush is applicable after 5 service , like on 6th service just to make sure that engine is clean
      Using diesel as flush because , diesel has its own lubrication properties but flush doesn't , diesel is not that corrosive but flush is very very corrosive , in normal driving as well you diesel gets past through the combustion chamber and mixes with engine oil and thats normal with every vehicle but using flush fir extended period of time can be dangerous
      So that was the thought behind using diesel sir and not flush .

    Hello bhai I am confused very much between castrol edge titanium and liqui moly toptec 4100.... Castrol is fully synthetic while liquimoly is semi synthetic....
    So which Engine oil I should prefer... Can I use Castrol edge titanium 5W40 in my Diesel Vento?

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 5 lety +2

      Yes i also use it
      Its quite good
      But this time i used shell helix ultra fully synthetic and noticed reduced noise levels
      Maybe its just my assumption , i did not checked the level of noise before and after

      Sir, you can't update the software of your car on your own untill you have access to the dealership
      Because now dealership update software over the air , they dont have the map copy with them . Volkswagen now have full control over the updates
