    Adam, great content, as usual...I am a HUGE ‘66 Batman fan from your old stomping grounds in the Central FL area...A few years back I was lucky to meet Adam West at the F/X Show at the Orange County Convention Center, as he was walking around between scheduled appearances, and walked right up and stood in my booth for about 20 minutes, looking at my collection of vintage 1966 Batman toys and collectibles. He was gracious enough to sign the inside lid of my vintage King Seely brand, Batman lunchbox, and it was quite surreal seeing my boyhood hero right in front of me! It is one of my most prized possessions, now that he is no longer among us...but George Barris’ Batmobile is as iconic today as it was back when it first appeared on the TV screen. I have about 1000 or so ‘66 Batman items from that Golden Age of Television that I have collected over the years. It takes up a lot of space in my den and office, but everything is nicely displayed...Your visit to George Barris’ Customs shop has gotten me excited about that old Batman show and the Batmobile all over again, and it’s always been on my bucket list to make that visit to N. Hollywood, CA. Thanks again for the great views...

      he claimed to have created more then he did tho, buying cars and maybe add some things and claim he built em.. like dont think he had anything to do with the back to the future delorean, he just built a replica of it and then im sure he said he built the 89 batmobile aswell but some lads in england built that car, same goes with the fast and the furius eclipse paul walker drove in the first movie :) got the car and added some useless gauges and wires .. but actually custom car wise he as pretty great

      I hate that he gets all the credit for the original Batmobile! My grandfather designed the concept car that they used for the batmobile

    • @rickr442
      @rickr442 Před 4 lety

      Yes James and your grandfather deserves credit and praise for that. A decade later the car was forgotten, abandoned in storage st George's place. He took a shot, repurposed the derelict and made it far more famous than it had been. Credit where due...

    • @punchline43
      @punchline43 Před 6 lety

      No I mean could you clarify what you mean by that. Is this film based on actual events , ie. a murder spree involving a sadistic chainsaw killer? I hope the "date" of the events was only mentioned in the context of the movie's story line, ya know?

    • @alcohtraz

      @@punchline43 based on the Ed Gien murders....

    • @punchline43
      @punchline43 Před 5 lety

      @@alcohtraz That was in the 50s though. From what I've heard and read there was no actual chainsaw-wielding psycho at the time of the film in the 70s, now more of an urban legend. The time isn't even right since the alleged killing spree occurred not before but soon after filming ended on TCM. So even if that were true, it would be a case of the murderer being inspired by the movie, not the other way around. As is, the film is said to be only loosely based on Gien anyway.

    I had not the foggiest who this amazing man was until you video, Adam. What a creative mind he had.....kind of a little sad to think that much of his life’s work is being sold off like that. But the garage tour was great and I learned who was behind the Batmobile, General Lee and so many others. I’ve got to wonder if he came up with the Gran Torino from Starsky & Hutch as well. Hmmmmm.
