@@roninr8199 yes, but instead I set my chair upside down on the ground and pressed down on the back of the chair with my feet and pulled toward me holding the shaft. Be careful not to smack yourself in the face doing that, but it will allow you to pull with more force.
That’s because they’re trolling. They just bought a new one, barely put it together, then made a video on how to disassemble it. It’s not gonna happen in real life because no real pressure was applied to the cylinder to compress it into its spot. It will always require force to remove.

I used google lens to search on a chair, it shows the same model sold in UK, DE, CH, CN, US ... with various names, but exactly same photos (NOT different photos), same dimensions same materials, and of course, different prices, some are double of others. In fact, they all bought from a chinese manufacturer! Not the same continent, but it is produced from the same place.
@@lasu7712 returning mine so gotta disassemble it. its the exact same one. issue was the screws at the bottom (u can see the back support frame going below the chair) got loose cuz the material they're screwed into isnt good quality so i can't lay back on it without breaking it, just to be safe im returning it.

This is pure BS. You cannot remove a gas lift like this once it's tightened.
It looks easy because it is a newly assembled chair.
Try disassemble chair that are well used.
