The scene that still tugs at my heart is when Forrest Gump meets his son, Forrest. That's the scene in the movie that you realize that all this time Forrest Gump has known he is disabled and some people mocked him. When he learns that Forrest is his son he immediately says, "Well.... is he smart or....?" (disabled like me) 😢

+Henry Ha actually it was the second best movie of 1994 just after lion King in terms of gross revenue. The best movie of all time is gone with the wind. In terms of gross revenue. But Imo the best movie of 94 was pulp fiction.
There is actually a second book that they wrote and some wanted to do a movie off of it and Tom Hanks said No because it was a movie that was better left standing alone and he was not the only one that felt this way. Other actors in that movie felt the same way namely Gary Sinise. There were other Directors and Producers that had this same feeling so the second movie was never made. I for one am happy that it wasn't because I feel that it could not have stood with the first by any means. It would've certainly have been a disaster and a complete loss at the box office or even worse... a laughing stock of movies and forever on their resume'

I think there is a common thread in that "end of running" scene in Forrest Gump, and the final scene in The Truman Show - where people - like puppets, or sheep - suddenly had to ask themselves "now what do we do?" It kind of hurts to see Tom Hanks old. I love his movies and I always picture him as a young fellow.
Age is less relevant than it used to be. So actors get grow hair, put on a few pounds and their skin sags a bit but they're still the same person. Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Bruce Willis as John McClane, Sylvester Stallone as Rambo or Rocky. When I look at someone I look at their eyes first not their body.

I also like to think about the days that Tom was a young man, mainly because I went to school with him. But I do appreciate the fact that he hasn't screwed his face up with plastic surgery or injected a ton of botox and fillers into himself.
